Physic problem i need help understanding?
a climbers gravitational potential energy increases from 14 000 J to 21 000 J while climbing a cliff. she expends 18 000 J of energy during this activity. What is the efficiency of this process? my issue with is is that im not too sure wich is the output and input. is the output the change in energy or what?

I'v tried variations on the number i found in several different ways..i STILL get the 10% error message..thanks for your help! I ve tried up to 8 numbers after the decimal point but still now luck

A physics student spends part of her day walking between classes or for recreation, during which time she expends energy at an average rate of 280 w. The remainder of the day she is sitting in class, studying, or resting; during these activities, she expends energy at an average rate of 100 w. If she expends a total of 1.1 x 10^7 J of energy in a 24-hour day, how much of the day did she spend walking? I did 1.1 x 10^7 = 280x + 100((24*3600) - x) and the answer is supposed to be 3.6 but instead got a huge *** number. What did I do wrong? D:
