I Didnt Lay The Pregnancy Test On A Flat Surface But It Tested Positive. Are The Rests Correct Or

I took a pregnancy test yesterday and it was negative, but when I looked at it 24 hours later, there is a very faint pink line. What could this mean?

It means you need to read the instructions of the pregnancy test before you perform it.There are several instructions you need to follow in order to get a valid result on a home pregnancy test.Take the test on a first morning urine specimen.Place the test on a level surface while you are waiting for the results to appear.Read the test properly. There must be a line in the “C” area for the test to be valid. The “T” area determines whether or not the test is positive. A line there means a positive test; no line means a negative test.Do not wait longer than 5 minutes to read the results. Twenty-four hours is WAY past the time limit for reading the test. What you are seeing is incorrectly referred to as an evaporation line. It is actually caused by exposure of the test to air.If you did not see any line in the “T” area within the first 5 minutes, then the test was negative. After 5 minutes, throw the test away, preferably in an area where you can't dig it out of the garbage and “read” it again. If you still think you may be pregnant, then repeat the test the next day, with the first morning urine specimen for that day. Do not try to read yesterday's test 24 hours after you took it.All of this is clearly indicated in the instructions for the test. It would be helpful for you to read the instructions before you actually perform the test.

Can not laying the test down on a flat surface affect the results?

I just took a home pregnancy test and forgot to to lay it down on a flat surface for two minutes. before I remembered to, about thirty seconds had passed. the result came out negative.
could that have effected the result?

Faint Positive Pregnancy test. What does it mean?

So I took 3 pregnancy tests yesterday and they were all 2 faintly positive. I have been feeling different lately, but not sure if faintly positive could be false?

My boss said that since I've been under alot of stress lately and my period hormones could be showing a positive on the test (since I'm due to get my cycle in less than a week) but if I am pregnant I know I would have gotten pregnant the last day of my period or the middle of september. And I've never heard of "period" hormones showing a positive on a pregnancy test. Plus I've taken the tests a week before and a day before my period came and they were never positive...

So I guess what I'm asking is my faint positive true? Or is my boss right and its just stress and "period hormones?"

If you take a pregnancy test and shake it to get the results back sooner will it mess up the test?

I took a pregnancy test today and I wanted the results back faster than what the test was processing so I shook it.If I shake it will it not come back with the right response? Will it come back with an inacurate result by me shaking the test? Please get back to me as soon as possible.

Waiting for HIV test results.. and terrified! What are my chances?

Sweetie, you are NO different than all the rest of us. Of course we all think/worry about the very worst scenarios & have that dear old mountain built UP from a tiny mole hill. I dare say you do NOT have HIV - so there!!! It could be ANY number of things. Allergies this yr. are at their very worse. Folks who NEVER had allergies before in their lives, can't even venture outside their doors. It could just be something of that nature. You've of course kissed your own husband, he's had NO signs of a thing. And, yes you're rite in that pregnant girl also being tested for HIV, she too is OK. EVERYONE is OK but you. I honestly dare say you're going to get some results you're allergic to some dumb thing you never could have imagined possible. Friends who've had cats & dogs all their lives, suddenly found out they are allergic to their own animals!! My best friend just found she developed SOOO MANY allergies this yr. she can't even go outside or she breaks out terribly. I KNOW it's easy for me to say, but try NOT to be afraid. We ALL tend to think the worst, you're NO different. Wait 'til you get your results & then breath a sigh of RELIEF...You WILL be OK. Think POSITIVE along WITH ME...the best to you, honey...:)
