I Do Not Wander Around Thinking

Didn't I tell you not to wander around in the dark?

Swans maybe one of the most beautiful of all the birds, but those divas are also so mean it is no wonder they sound so obnoxious. I was pinched by one as a child, so I will heed your warning because I never want a repeat of that incident. Hmmm, can you find me a dark park to wander in, because I love things that go bump in the dark......?
Peace.

I am thinking of moving to Metro City. Where should I go for a job: Pune, Bangalore, Chennai, or Hyderabad?

It will be better to appear for the Off Campus happening in Bangalore, there will be plenty of opportunities, make sure you appear for the E-Litmus, so that you can also get calls from the companies and you do not wander like a fly. Also, you need to clarify about your graduation degree more, that will be a more help. I have answered about by taking you an Engineering graduate by default.

What is the difference in product thinking and design thinking?

Design thinking is an approach to problem solving with an empathy led, user centric outlook that results in competitive differentiation and advantage for modern enterprises. Design thinking is not a new concept. It’s been practiced since ages the bridges, monuments that have stood the test of time are a result of extreme detailing, design and architectural marvels. Throughout the history of mankind, the meaningful and effective innovations that defined our lives have been largely achieved by applying human centric creative processes and methodologies.Design Thinking employs a common-sense approach and derives inspiration by the premise “learning by doing”.Benefits of Design Thinking: A Case StudyAfter Steve Jobs returned to Apple in 1997 (post Apple’s acquisition NeXT), he started to apply the design thinking, that is deeply embedded in every Apple products till date. Steve Jobs applied design thinking to design innovative products like iPod, iPad and Mac by concentrating on:· User’s needs and desires, rather than business needs· Empathy led user research and understanding their desire for world class products· Design rather than the engineering and technology· Simple yet user-friendly when compared to complex hard-to-use productsThe vision set forth by Steve Jobs are clearly visible in modern Apple products. Although other competitors focus on the features, functionalities and capabilities, Apple focuses on delivering top notch holistic user experience. For e.g., the iMac is known for being quiet, having a quick boot up, better sound, and a high-quality display.Design Thinking has become one of the most promising innovation paradigm in business today. For Product thinking refer here:Why product thinking is the next big thing in UX design - InVision Blog

What does the phrase, "Not all who wander are lost," mean?

Why would you ask the question if you don't believe anyone knows the answer?

I think it means... You may not know where you are, but if you're OK with that - if you're happy with wandering and just living without having to know the specifics - then you are not lost, because you are where you want to be.

I have 2 outside cats and i want them not to wander off so much how do i get them to stat by the house?

My husband and I have had indoor/outdoor cats. They both lived a long time (a male 21 yrs & a female 18 years). Each one developed unique routines based on the season. For example, in summer, we'd see them and feed them first thing in the morning. Then, they'd go off for the rest of the day hunting or sleeping in their favorite places. In winter, they'd stay in a lot more. Of course, as they got older they liked to stay inside more. Incredibly, they did come when we called for them, but it took a few moments for them to show up. Do you have other places near your house that they can get into to get out of the weather? Our cats were able to get into the garage via a cat-door. Making several comfy places for them around the yard is one way to keep them close by.

Why does the mind keep wandering in past and present?

This is how the mind is built. I guess this is true for all warm blooded animals. This is my theory: There is the lizard brain/reptilian brain which does only eat/mate/fight or flee. Reptilians need not eat as often as warm blooded for obvious reasons. So warm blooded were forced to think of past and future. This is how it has been since millions of years of evolution. What we have is the monkey brain. What is think is past and future. Thinking (which actually is more of “worrying” than conscious thinking) is involuntary; like digestion. You do not have control over it.So how to you reign it? Try meditation. I had a very positive experience.

How do I force myself to focus and not let my mind wander?

It goes without saying that different people have different ways to help them focus. But I feel that I can understand the question more because I sometimes face the same problem. I want to focus on work or drawing, but every 15 minutes I drop whatever I was doing and go online or something. My advise is don't force yourself. From my experience, I can't force concentration. I can't simply "will" myself to focus on something. It either has to be interesting or challenging or fun or all of the above to get me focused. When I'm painting, I often put on a TV show or a movie I've watched before on one of the monitors. I watched it periodically and go back on my painting. At first I'd switch back and forth between the movie and my painting, and little by little, I'd focus more on my painting, and eventually I don't even hear the noise. It's a weird practice but I know a lot of artists do the same. In fact, some of my professors back in the day would put on movies in classroom when we worked on our projects. When I'm doing translation work or write articles, I usually put on familiar music (songs I enjoyed and had listen to over and over), that help me concentrate, but eventually I just block it out and focus on writing. It seems I'm more easily distracted when I'm writing than painting. I think it might has something to do with different part of my brain has different thinking process. Hope this helps.

What's the best way to ignore something that you don't want to think about anymore?

I have had this issue and have come to the following conclusion. If I can't stop thinking about something, there is often an important reason. My inner self is telling me something. So I either need to journal about it until there are simply no more words that can possibly come out of me or I need to talk to someone (someone I totally trust or a professional) and see why this keeps coming back to me again and again. For me, this is often about guilt and I may either need to accept my imperfections or make ammends. I have spoken in other posts about the need to prepare to do things that are hard and making ammends is one of them. People are often unwilling to admit wrongdoing, but carrying around guilt forever is even harder. It will beat you down.In the long run, it is easier to deal with what is inside of you even though you would prefer not to. That is often a falso choice. Your mind and body will bring back the issue in thoughts and pain.
