I Dont Get What Happens When The Government Shuts Down

What happens if the Government shuts down?

I remember the shutdown in the '80s. It really wasn't a big deal unless you wanted to go to a national park.

What happens during a government shutdown?

The last gov't shutdown was in 2013 when I was in 5th grade, the start of middle school. Now, here I am in my first year of high school, 9th grade. What a coincidence! I knew very little back then and I still do. All I knew was that it was a major deal. I'm curious: will crime be legal? Will people still be paid for working? Will the economy still be booming?

What will happen if Indian government shuts down?

A lot of money will be saved from swindlers, frauds who amass the government money and in turn India can clear all its debt. But, ironically it comes with a heavy price of breaking the citizens financially. If such thing is to happen, it does more bad than good.I remember a quote by Charles Caleb Colton 'Corruption is like a ball of snow, once it sets start rolling it must increase.' I don't know how one can stop that.

What is a government shutdown?

It's a lie told to scare people. The government doesn't actually shut down. Some things just don't get funding. So some things don't get paid. That doesn't mean that the government is literally shut down.

A true government shut down means that nobody recognizes the authority of the government and/or the government is taken over by enemy forces effectively shutting down the government.

Why doesn't the government shut down Kik?

That's why i dont trust the internet even though I make friend with them. Some I just tell straight in the face to stop being creepy... Never gave you private info to the others.. Should teach children about the dangerous of the internet i think... Make them aware before to late. There also a cyber bullied happened at some teenagers.. Kinda heartbroken to know...

What would happen if the government shut down the manufacturing and sale of tobacco products?

Take a look at what happened when the government introduced prohibition. They could not enforce it so they re-legalized it. Look at the government’s war on marijuana. They’ve spent billion doing the punitive thing and now they are considering legalizing it. Also look at what is happening as the government works to slow down the availability of prescription opioids. There is a heroin epidemic as the addicted opioid users are no longer able to satisfy their addictive urges through the legalized prescription system and instead seek to satisfy their addictive urges by heading to the street to buy heroin which is now a bargain-basement drug.I don’t believe it is possible to legislate addicts out of an addiction. Suppliers will always find a way if the price is right. The best way to fight the tobacco industry - in my opinion - is to stop supplying the suppliers/dealers with customers. We have allowed the tobacco industry to gain a large foothold in the population by letting them get into business with us through legalization and subsequently, taxation. That is why we have the problem. It is why we have the opioid problem. That’s because the population are - and were - largely unaware of what they were really doing when they took their first drag on a cigarette or their first percocet.I believe the answer is to properly educate our youth on what is really going on with tobacco and work on building and developing the best method for eliminating the tobacco industry: stop providing them with new customers. If one generation never started smoking, the tobacco industry would be gone in a heartbeat. We should also be organizing one unified group - instead of several splintered groups - to teach addicts how to live without the products to which they have become addicted.I have never met a dangerously addicted addict who does not want to eliminate their addiction. I believe that there are only two reasons people are addicted to do anything: they either don’t want to stop doing it or they don’t know how to stop doing it. Because if they knew how to stop doing it, they would.Education is the key. We just need to will to make it happen.
