How do you remember the name of a song that you know the tune of and when it was popular but nothing else?
Well, if you remember the tune well enough, you can download this app called SoundHound (for iOS and Android) that comes with humming recognition, i.e., you hum the tune into the microphone and the app tells you what song it is (or what it thinks it to be). Connection to internet is required.

I heard a song on the radio and I can't remember the name or artist. Can anyone help?
Check if the radio station has a web page. In Norway they have one where you can go in and make a search for the time period you listened to the song and see what the song playing is named.See if that works. If not just hum on it and do other things until you see if you can get more, then download Shazam and sing it to the recorder. If that doesn’t work, type in the few lyrics you remember in Google search followed by the word lyrics. Take all the songs that feel similar and youtube it. Hopefully you’ll find it.Good luck from a girl that once used 2 hours trying to find a song she remembered one riff from.

How do you find a song you know the tune of but don't remember the words?
Think back to the time in your life you remember hearing it, where was you and how did you feel at the time? Where you with anyone? If you were then you could ask them if they can remember when…. Etc etc! Also, how old were you roughly and was it a song you recall hearing on numerous occasions at that time or just once or twice?? As you could then try to search through releases from around that time/year… Should it be a song you recall being played frequently then it is likely to of been popular and therefore likely to have been in the charts, which I imagine are easily accessible with a search on Google or two :) x
How do you find a song that you don't know the name to?
Here are a few things to consider:Try and remember as many lines of the lyrics of the song as you can and then put it into Google. This has saved me a lot of times.If you have an IPhone, you can ask Siri ‘what song is this’ and she will listen for a few seconds and they give you the name of the song, and an iTunes link. This feature uses Shazam, which is an app by itself for Apple and Android, which will do the exact same thing as Siri.Carefully listen to the radio (I'm assuming you heard this on a radio or something) and see if the host tells you what that song was or who this artist was. That should lead you in the right direction.If you vaguely remover the tune, go and ask your friends! It would be quite likely that they would have heard this song too and hum them the tune. I don't know, it might work.
