Why is my open cut/wound not bleeding?
Not only being in police work I am also a paramedic which is required for my position, although I do not practice as a paramedic.There are many open wounds which don't bleed for various reasons. Cuts/wounds may not bleed because they were caused by a very sharp instrument and this causes the small vessels to clamp shut on their own which stops bleeding.There are many types of open wounds including gunshots where you can see an open wound where the projectile goes in and because of the force and heat it instantly closes off the blood vessels. However, an open wound under these circumstances are most likely bleeding on the inside of the body into the abdominal or chest cavity and is a very serious wound and is life threatening. You can "bleed out" internally with no or very little blood oozing from the entry point.A lot of amputations such as having a leg or arm severed do not bleed on the outside and are bleeding substantially on the inside and are life threatening. Just because you don't see blood oozing from a cut or wound does not mean it is not life threatening.
Ive just dropped my iPad on my lip!?
Try and find an iPad case with a loop or something to hold on to! I used to drop my phone on my face ALL the time, but then I got a Loopy case and haven't done it since.

If it's bad you probably should seek medical attention? But if it's just a cut it'll heal eventually :P
I bit my lip and its swollen and bleeding. help?
So today i accidentally dropped a stack of cups from my higher cabinet and we have an island underneath it and so as i tried to pick up the cups my face hit the island and my front tooth dug straight into my lip causing a lot of blood to continuously ooze out , my right side of my lip was very swollen and has this huge gash where my tooth dug through . ='( i sucked my lip inside of my mouth and put salt water inside my mouth and let it sit and that helped the bleeding then i put ice on it which really didn't look liked it help ......... any ideas to try to hide this ugly bump on my lip for school and what else can i do to heal it .? also ...... will the pool irritate it after 2 days
My deceased dog was bleeding from the mouth when we found him. Any thoughts on why that could have been?
Without knowing where he was found, it's difficult to speculate why he was bleeding from the mouth. If he was found outside, I would suspect he was hit by a car or even a cyclist riding very fast. Even if he wasn't close to the road could indicate that he walked away from the site but died from internal injuries a little ways away.But there are other things that could happen that could cause sudden internal bleeding (which might cause bleeding from the mouth, as you saw). Poison is one, and even electrocution if he chewed through a wire. Sadly even an undiagnosed organic illness like cancer could be the culprit. My dog Henry died rather unexpectedly when an undiagnosed tumor in his abdomen grew too close to a blood vessel and caused it to burst. He bled out and died within a few hours. There wasn't any blood in his mouth that I saw, but I never picked him up after he died. His gums were very pale when the vet examined him, and before he palpitated his belly and found the suspected mass, he thought maybe Henry had eaten poison or been bitten by something venomous.I know my answer gives more questions than answers. I really wish you comfort and peace during this time of loss.
Accidentally hit my lip piercing.. it's now bleeding. Will it be okay?
It should be fine...do some warm saline (saltwater) soaks using sterile cotton pads/rounds a few times a day for the couple of weeks. Also take some ibuprofen (2) to keep swelling down, even if you don't see any swelling there will most likely be some since you bumped a fairly fresh piercing. (no acetaminophen or asprin) because it prevents blood clotting. Good luck with your new piercing!! Oh & keep it & your hands clean =]
I tried to change my lip piercing and it started bleeding?
I tried to change it from a ring Back into my stud But when I tried to put in lip ring, my piercing started bleeding and the ring wouldn't go in!!!D; I got the Ring back in but not my stud Idk what to do! I'm kinda scared! Ive only had my snake bites for a month and 1 week. Should I try again? Or take it out?
My kitten is bleeding from nose & mouth! ?
After I got out of the shower I noticed my very active & playful kitten was no where to be found. When I found her she was under my daughter's bed, having trouble meowing & bleeding from her nose & mouth! I'm not sure what could've happened but my husband says my son & daughter were no where near her. Please help, we don't have a vet near by so I was wondering if there are any at home remedies until I can get her to a vet!?
Is it true that you can paralyze your face by piercing your lip?
I'm thinking of getting my lip pierced this month, but I've heard that if the piercer somehow hits a nerve then you could run the risk of paralyzing half your face? Is this true or just a myth? I won't be piercing my own lip, but all the videos that I've watched on youtube on lip piercings just show the piercer shoving a needle right through before actually looking inside the lip.... I can feel a nerve/vein on my lower right side of my lip, but it isn't visible.... I want my lower left side of my lip pierced, but will I run the risk of paralyzing my face? even if I go to a professional??
