Would it make you feel offended?
OMG my sixteen year old went through this this year.....it truly frustrated her.....I know what you are talking about. She tried different things one of them was to say good morning and then as soon as they answered she started to talk about something that engaged the both of them. Another time she said something like okayyyyy I get the hint...I am invisible (but said it really jokingly) that got there attention and they included her. Another time she just walked away completely from the table and started to talk to other girls. And yet another time she just took out a book and started to read...they got the idea. Yes, you should feel insulted. No one has the right to insult you ESPECIALLY a priest. Some of them have done horrible things.That is terribly insulting. Your hair style and your clothing are no indication of who you are in your heart, my friend. I'm very sorry you were insulted like this.Your life is your life, it does not belong to a church, a priest or anyone else. Your beliefs are the same, they belong to you, and NO one has the right to criticize you. Should I feel offended?
The whole thing sounds weird.I don't believe in married women going out with male friends without their husbands being there with them.Sometimes we(men) say we don't have a problem with it just to please you women.Well,that's probably why i love being single,i don't have to worry about things like this.Anyway,This guy asked you out,he should have paid the checks.I have a feeling he was expecting more than just dinner.It sounds like he changed his mind by not spending his money on you.I don't know him,therefore i won't say more,but it doesn't sound like he's a gentleman to me.I'm not even comfortable letting women open their purses to treat me to anything,even when they ask me out.Those chicks have to really insist before i let them treat me to something.I mean,i wouldn't turn down a present for my birthday or xmas.I don't know if you should be offended or not,but i know he didn't treat you right.
Christians, why do you get so offended about Catholic Confession?
Okay ! Good scripture, The problem is the rightous man whose powerful can interceed for us he should only interceed to God The Father. He is the one who can forgive us. The "Hail Mary and Vigirn Guadalupe, San Martin de poras ECT.. Saints is what they are and If you are in right standing with Christ that makes you a saint. But a saint can't wash away your sin and most of the prayers that the Priest are gonna have you pray are to saints. I know I was catholic for some time. Saints are mere human beings who were very rightous but people have put them on pedestals and some have even turned them into gods. Only the blood of Jesus can redeem us. Yes you should ask for forgiveness from those whom you have offended. Yes you should confess to your girlfriend if you lied to her. Yes confess to your mother if you stole a cookie from her cookie jar. Then to God for your offenses. There is a huge difference when you go humbly to God yourself and ask to be forgiven. He has given us so much more athourity than you think. I know who I am in Christ . When you have a true realtionship with God you can intercede for yourself. We can boldly go into the throne room and sit on the mercy seat because of the blood of Jesus that was shed. Now I personally have gone to my church edlers for prayer they are much more mature Christian than I am that is why they are chosen to be elders.They encourage me with scripture I had not known about share insight that I missed from scripture or they may even have a word for me. We pray together to God. When there are 2 or 3 witnesses in Gods name you can bet he is in the mist. The prayers are words that the Holy Spirit puts in our hearts to pray our very own words and when we do not know what to pray anymore the batisim of the Holy Ghost takes over and we pray in tounges. A powerful prayer that is so supernatrual. A language between me and Jesus who interceeds to the Father. These prayers are not written down in a book some where for all to memorize. They are prayers from the heart. And that is what Jesus judges,is the heart of man. Spell check it not working so excuse the mispelled words. Jesus Freaks Rock!!
I'm Catholic but I feel like I'm bad when I don't agree on certain things. Is it okay to feel this way?
Being Catholic means you have Faith in ALL that the Catholic believes and practices. When it comes to homosexuality, the Catechism of the Catholic Church teaches: Chastity and homosexuality 2357 Homosexuality refers to relations between men or between women who experience an exclusive or predominant sexual attraction toward persons of the same sex. It has taken a great variety of forms through the centuries and in different cultures. Its psychological genesis remains largely unexplained. Basing itself on Sacred Scripture, which presents homosexual acts as acts of grave depravity,141 tradition has always declared that "homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered."142 They are contrary to the natural law. They close the sexual act to the gift of life. They do not proceed from a genuine affective and sexual complementarity. Under no circumstances can they be approved. 2358 The number of men and women who have deep-seated homosexual tendencies is not negligible. This inclination, which is objectively disordered, constitutes for most of them a trial. They must be accepted with respect, compassion, and sensitivity. Every sign of unjust discrimination in their regard should be avoided. These persons are called to fulfill God's will in their lives and, if they are Christians, to unite to the sacrifice of the Lord's Cross the difficulties they may encounter from their condition. 2359 Homosexual persons are called to chastity. By the virtues of self-mastery that teach them inner freedom, at times by the support of disinterested friendship, by prayer and sacramental grace, they can and should gradually and resolutely approach Christian perfection.
To you, you are clearly a female. But to the person who is asking, maybe it is not quite so clear, or maybe they are being facetious, although I cannot think of a good reason why that would be…I would reply by asking what about you gives the impression that you are not female. In some cases it will be clothing, the person’s voice or hairstyle, or facial bone structure. In other cases it can be the way a person walks or simply a “vibe” that people give off that makes people unsure.I would warn you that you might not like the answers that come back from the questions, if someone says “you smell like a man” or “you do not have a feminine face”. But in my experience (I used to get people confusing me for a woman… a bearded 6′ 3″ - 190cm - 240lb - 110kg woman in men’s clothing, mostly because of my long hair) the answers can be quite funny and it can give you an interesting insight into how other people see you. The one thing I would not suggest is that you change anything about yourself solely because of what people reply when you ask them. You are you. Love yourself the way you are.
It's simple, really: as serious offenses became practically nonexistent, the tolerance for more minor offenses decreased. So things that used to be brushed off or ignored completely started getting more focus because things that were actually serious simply didn't happen anymore.Example: back in the day, a serious offense would be a public lynching for an interracial couple. As that became a thing of the past, the threshold for serious offense was reduced to racial slurs. As that became a thing of the past, the threshold was reduced again to simple racial descriptors. And once that becomes a thing of the past, the threshold will be reduced even further.Good news is I think we're at the peak of just how intolerant of offense you can get before people simply stop taking you seriously.
