When Jesus Christ died on the cross, He took this nature upon Himself, and suffered the rejection of God His Father; and having paid the price for sin and rebellion, He died, forever removing the old sin nature. When we are joined to Christ by faith in his death, burial and resurrection; the old "me" dies, and a new nature is born - a nature like the nature of Christ, which loves to do what is right just as the old nature loved to do what was wrong. In my opinion, there are no advantages. Unless you happen to believe that Christianity has nothing to do with God. Then they allow you to pick the religion that best suits you. But if you believe that God is behind the work, then how can they all be correct? And, using the "how can they all be correct?" question, it stands to reason that most, if not all, of them are wrong. Therefore, there are no advantages, and, in my opinion, some very big disadvantages. If one believes in God and one believes that there is opposition to God in this existence, then those that are wrong are part of the opposition. I do _not_ consider those who are members of the opposition to be bad people and I do believe that they have many truths and I do believe that they are doing their best to live according to their understanding and that God will reward them for their efforts and attitude.
