I Had Taken Over Payments On A Car. I Haven

Can I get out of a car lease if I haven't paid a down payment or given a title to my car?

You will need to have someone take over the remainder of your lease. The benefit to them is that they have a newer car under warranty and lower lease payments for a short lease than if they went in and tried to get a short term lease themselves. This will require them to pass a credit check to qualify for the lease through your dealership.

Can you trade in a car you just bought and haven't made a payment on yet?

I just bought a car I'm not exactly fond of it. There's nothing wrong with it. It's simply not me. I understand that I can't return but will they let me trade it in for another one at another dealership even though I haven't even made one payment on it?

Can you go to jail if you don't pay your car payment?

No, why would you think that? If you don't pay your car payment then the bank you financed it through will send someone to repossess the car after 90 days of non payment. The financial institute will then put it up for sale for what is owed on it, but you still have to pay the loan off no matter what. And if you don't make an attempt to pay it off, they will garnish your wages from work and if you don't have a job they will take you to court and they will make the arrangements for you to pay it off. And if it goes to court you are going to pay double because of the lawyer and court costs. Just make the payment! It's much easier.

If you pay a car payment twice in the same month by mistake, can the company mandate applying it to the next month?

You ask two different questions here, and the answers are no and no, at least according to most loan contracts.  Basically, your monthly payment is generally viewed as the lowest amount that you can pay without violating your loan agreement.  You're always free to pay more, and that additional amount is usually (though not always) applied to the base principal of the amount due.  But it does not generally pre-pay the following month's minimum, nor are you entitled to a refund of the amount paid.

Can someone just take over the payments on a car loan?

The answer is a YES & NO.YES it is possible, but the person needs to be approved by the finance company, and the loan transferred to their name. Another option if the person can't get approved is for you to remain as a cosigner, at that point I suggest making damn sure though, that this person will payA better option yet is to have them obtain a loan elsewhere at a better interest rate and just sell them the car.The NO comes in, they can't just pay your payments and the loan is there's. The financial responsibility still falls on you in case of default

I bought a car last Friday haven't made the first payment and I just heard we're all getting Layed off since oil prices haven't gone back up.?

I bought a car last Friday haven't made the first payment and I just heard we're all getting Layed off since oil prices haven't gone back up. Can I return the car if i talk to the financing office. Its a used car if that makes a difference.

Can I rescind a new car contract if I haven't taken the delivery even though the financing is complete and I have received a payment book?

The contract is not fulfilled until you have taken delivery of the vehicle. If you have not driven the vehicle off the dealership’s lot since signing the contract, then you have not taken delivery. I would call the company that financed the vehicle and tell them you did not take delivery of the vehicle. I am sure they will notify the dealer and they will do everything within their power to get you to return to the dealership and take the vehicle. As an aside, I have seen people return and re-negotiate their deal. At this point the dealership has probably tagged and titled the car in your name. That means if you do not take delivery, they will have to pay off the loan and they will technically have a used car worth much less than the new car. The dealership does not want to have to write down a new car. Good luck!

Can I Back Out of a Car Deal if I haven't taken possesion?

I bought a new car last night, the financing has not gone through and I have not taken possession of the car yet. The dealership is closed today and I'm supposed to pick it up tomorrow, but I realized after leaving that the terms were for 75 months instead of 60 and the interest rate is wayyyyy higher than it should be. Can I still back out of this deal or call the financing company and tell them to deny the loan on account of unverifiable income (which I don't have)? I heard something about 72 hours, but not sure if this applies. No down payment.

I sold my car to someone and they haven't paid me what they owe.?

I sold my car to someone and let them leave me a deposit so they could take it to their mechanic to have it looked at. They said it was good and said they sent the rest of the money in a money order to me soI could send them the title. I never got it and called the police. They talked to him and he said he would pay it. Now they said they sent me the money certified mail 3 days ago and I still haven't gotten it. I asked for the tracking number and they are being elusive about it. How do I get my car back without the key? The police said it was a civil matter...I don't know what to do..I'm thinking about having it towed back to my house since I still have the title but then I won't have the key. Any suggestions? Please refrain from chastising me for doing this as I already know I made a mistake and will never do this again!! lol!

Can i get a warrant for my arrest for not paying my car payment?

First of all, relax. A car payment is a civil, not criminal matter. What has happened here is that the car is out for repossession and the repossession company can not find it. They are calling anyone they can to try to panic you into thinking that you are in more trouble than you are.

The title investigator is not an official title, it just sounds good. I can call myself an investigator and not be accused of impersonating a police officer.

There is not a warrant for your arrest. The only way you can possibly be jailed in relation to a car payment is if there is a court order requiring you to return the car, and you refuse. The charge then would be contempt of court.

You need to either allow the car to be repossessed or you need to make arraignments to pay the back payments. Your only other option is to file bankruptcy, which will delay, but not stop the repossession.
