I Have A 2003 Mitsubishi Diamante And It Keeps Cutting Off When I Stop Or When I

What causes a car battery terminal to get hot when trying to start it?

Possibly this1. If wires get hot when you try to start it and the motor is spinning over. Then the motor isn't starting and your over heating the cables by using the starter too much.2. If the wires are getting hot, but the engine isn't turning over then the starter is bad or the BIG wire going to the starter is shorted.3. If only one wire is getting hot at a connection, then you have a bad connection at that point. A symptom of this problem is everything electrical shuts off when you hit the starter.

2003 Mitsubishi TJ Magna (Diamante in US) Overheating at highway speed.?

Hi there,

I have a 2003 Mitsubishi magna (diamante in US) 3.5 v6 and recently it started to show signs of overheating while driving on freeway at 120kmph. The normal temperature for this car is a bar below the center point in the dash and on the freeway it increases two bars above the center.
As soon as I slow down and keep it around 100kmph the temperature comes down back to its original position where it should normally be.

I have changed the thermostat, the engine coolant to ensure its not bad but there is no change.. as soon the speed goes up on the highway, the needle of the gauge also goes up by two bars.

Please note that I have checked and there is No leakages of coolant and the coolant level is intact and clean, oil is also not milky and is clean. I opened the oil cap just to check and its clean.

Any suggestions?

Overheating on mitsubishi diamante--I'm perplexed!!!?

I have a 97 Mitsubishi Diamante that has been having some overheating issues. Coolant levels in radiator and reservoir are normal, no discernable leaks noted. No white smoke in exhaust or signs of coolant leaking into oil chambers. I've replaced the radiator cap since the original had a faulty seal, water pump, thermostat and timing belt are only 2 years old. Radiator appears intact. The hose between radiator cap and reservoir was cleaned out yesterday and found to have had a blockage in it.
But I am still noticing that in stop-and-go traffic in town that the heat likes to get up there. I tried cranking the heater up to full heat on full blast (really nice in 90 degree weather), and that pulled the engine temp (per the gauge) down to normal rather quickly. I don't have issues with highway driving, either. I'm guessing there is something going on with a fan or fan clutch, just by means of elimination. Does that sound likely? Is it a difficult or expensive repair?

Why won't my car start after fixing a broken serpentine belt?

Ok so first question is the starter rotating the motor like it should and it just wont start or are you turning the key without getting any results. If its not turning over id first off hit the starter solenoid with a soft hammer a few good raps may dislodge a stuck solenoid. Now if the motor is spinning but not firing up my first place id look is the distributor wiring unless it runs coil packs then i would guess that you knocked the wires off the crank sensor or maybe even broke the crank sensor. I am at a disability here not knowing what the vehicle make is., if it died while driving because belt fell off and you ran on battery till it ran out of power. ( a jump start is the ticket in that case ) Honestly im going with the crank sensor or crankshaft position sensor.being the root of your problem because if the belt broke it could easily take out the sensor as belt flew around the front of the motor. But check all your connections and research the crank sensor ..its usually a cheap and easy part to replace if its in a area where belt passes by it that makes sense as to your problem. Ok let me know a bit more info if possible. Dont give up the answer will come

What are the symptoms of a bad transmission speed sensor?

On some vehicles, there are sensors that function specifically for certain parts of the vehicle. Sometimes a bad speed sensor will mess up the function of the ABS brakes (causing them to overreact or not kick in at all, which usually creates a light on the dash), other times it can cause erratic speedometer readings and/or (for auto transmissions) cause inconsistent shifts and it shifting completely out of gear into neutral at random. Some vehicles it will do all of these things at once, but you should get a CEL (check engine light) or ABS light to show up on the dash if one of these things are becoming problematic enough to cause issues.

On my car, a headlight, a tail light, and a brake light all went out simultaneously. What is the most likely issue?

Looking at the wiring diagram for your vehicle, I can confirm there is nothing in the circuit (i.e. fuses, grounds, etc.) that would affect these items and these items only. Nothing that is, except for the MICU. The MICU is a module with relays built in to control the exterior lighting.I would definitely check the bulbs first, but if they are OK, suspect a problem with MICU. There were even recalls for it on various models. Here’s an article that will help you replace your check and replace your headlight bulb: How to Replace a Headlight That Has Burned Out
