I Have A Hard Time Deciding My Career Path.

I'm 15 and having trouble deciding my future career path. What can I do to help myself?

There are a few things that I found really helpful when trying to figure out what I wanted to do in life (cancer research), so hopefully you’ll find them useful too.Try to experience and explore as much as you can now in this phase of your life. Try something new, pick up a new hobby or skill, take a class in something you’ve always been curious about. This is one of the best ways to find new passions that might change your life.Asking yourself what are you currently good at AND what you enjoy doing was something that I found really crucial, because ideally, your career path should be at the intersection of the two. What do you value? Where would you see yourself being happy? For some, pursuing their love of art is at the base of their career path. Maybe you want something that impacts your community. Maybe you prioritize the ability to travel often and make your own hours. Maybe it’s security in your future.Don’t worry too much right now. There’s a lot of time to change your mind and change your course if you need to. :) Hope this helps.

Help on choosing a career path?

Hello, like many people I'm trying to figure out my future and what college to go to/ what major, etc. Well I'm just coming here to get some insight on what I should focus on in college, because I'm not entirely sure on my career path yet. Currently I'm an upcoming sophmore in highschool, and here are some of my interests/hobbies:

-Art (painting [digital and traditional,] drawing and everything else)
-Animation (stopmotion and computer)
-Technology (Engineering and design)
-music (play some instruments)
-Crafting (crochet, sewing etc.)
-Science (mostly astronomy)
-Writing (Really good at that but can't stay interested, haha.)
-Photography and Photo manipulation
*School Extracurricular activities include basketball, cross country, track, FCA, and Guitar club.

My main concern is that I am a very creative person, however there isn't a high demand for any jobs revolving around creativity. Like my mother worked in house art renderings, but barely got paid anything and her company eventually died. I was talking to a professor at a university one day, and she told me that to be successful you will want to combine majors into one profession, as there should be a high demand, for example, a computer programmer that knows 3 foreign languages for international communication reasons, and has an graphic design degree. And that leads me to think i can have a high paying job that includes creativity if I were to look hard enough. So if you could give me insight on possible paths that would lead me to an well paying/enjoyable job, it would be great. Thank you!

How can a Libra choose a career that's the best?

I'm a Libra and I have been the MOST indecisive person alive when it comes to choosing my career path. I'm in college and keep going back and forth from law to psychology to graphic design to theater production to anthropology to journalism to fashion. I could see myself doing a million different things.

I don't know how to choose one though. Have any other Libras had this problem? I can make a great case for any of the subjects I'm leaning towards, but as soon as I convince myself of one, I start doubting it and convince myself of another. Are there specific careers that are really good for Libras?

I have a Taurus moon and Aries rising if that makes any difference!

Any career advice?!

Why does it's so hard to choose career?

You might be thinking too much in terms of "careers", which are very limited categories.

You should be focusing more on non-job specific "abilities" and "talents" and "passions": maybe you are good at, or love, analyzing, observing, humor, EQ, speaking, planning, leading, listening, etc...

You discover these things by trying lots of jobs, as you did, and also looking at your interests, and the issues you care about in your life/society/the world. Even if you didn't like the job, there had to be some things that you liked/were better at, and some things that you didn't like/were worse at - and those are all clues to where your talents lie. This is why EVERY job is a great learning experience - even the jobs that weren't right for you.

When you discover your passions & abilities, THEN you find jobs/careers where you can Use and Develop them.

Avoid being a lawyer - it sounds like your heart isn't really into it. You don't want to be another of the many millions who are stuck in mediocre, passionateless, unfulfilling jobs & lives.

Be careful of thinking too much about money. It will cloud your perceptions & decisions. You should do what you love, and the money will come later. (That's because people tend to give their money to the passionate doers, and not to the passionateless moneymakers.)
