I Have A Question Is This A Good Student Council Speech In Additional Details

Speech for student council(8th grade)?

I am retyping it with my changes. :)

I took out the first part because you dont' want to start with a 'negative'. They will likely tune you out if you start with a 'I can't do this....'

I just changed a few things to make it seem to flow better, IMO. :)

Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm sure you'll do great!
________

Hey fellow jags, I'm _________ and I'm running for student council president. I promise that I will help make this school year as memorable as possible. Whether you're graduating middle school this year, or just beginning, this will be a year you look back on and smile! To get the year off to a great start we need some more spirit, and MAN do I mean SPIRIT! Not only the jag shirts, and those shirt are awesome, we just need more! We need to add some pep rally's' and activities to get the whole school involved! We can carry that awesome spirit to into my next plan... better fundraisers! Fundraisers that you'll actually enjoy yourself. Let's face it, this school needs more money, and what better way to raise it then by having a car wash! I mean putting on our bathing suits, enjoying the hot sun of Georgia and washing some cars. Students, faculty, and teachers will all enjoy it.
I have many more ideas that I believe will make this school a better, more enjoyable place! I can't wait to show them all to you when you elect ME, _________, as student council president! I am hard working, dedicated and loyal, I promise to not let you down! Thank you!

8th Grade Student Council Secretary Speech?

Dear Classmates, my name is _________ and I am running for Secretary to Student Council. To be honest, I am running because I know that this job is not one of the most important things to do in our school. I imagine most people never really think very much about the Secretary's position so it may seem odd that any one would want to ask you to vote for them to do it. But I am running for the job because I believe it is important to show that students are willing to take on public responsibility and that, as students, we deserve respect for who we are and what we do in this community. I am willing to stand up and be counted for all of you. I hope you will give me your support. Thank you.

Student council speech. jokes, how to add humor?

good question. well, number one, just act your normal self, and be outgoing. Try something new WITHOUT going off topic to what you're saying. Maybe every once i a while, take something you have written that you think is funny and say something, but remember to stick to your topic. If you try to be funny and you don't make sense, no one will like your speach. But if you add a little humor here and there it will be a hit. I have gotten into student council once before, so i have had experience and you can trust me. Good Luck! I HOPE YOU WIN AND DO REALLY GOOD!!!!!!!!

Is this a good Student Council speech for treasurer?

I would say, dont start with bigging yourself up. you need to get the people to agree with you before you present yourself as the person to change things.

Infact i think the kubler ross model works well for speeches - (5 stages of denial) - denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance.
Stage 1, the audience propably doesnt agree with you
stage 2 - make them angry with the school or other candidates
stage 3
bargain with them (this is my proposal/ what i will do
stage 4 - depression (skipped)
stage 5 - acceptance, you need the audience to accept that you are the right candidate.

also, no one cares if your good at maths, you use nearly a whole paragraph saying how good at math you are. one sentence should be enough. saying the benefits of "theatre night" and other examples can be affective, otherwise your just saying initiatives with no benefits. e.g. "Theatre Night" where they work and write together to produce a play, which is then shown to the other students. This can allow for more funding for equipment and school trips...blah de blah and so on.

saying "we can have a fun time" sounds lame :/

Unless your the most popular kid in school, don't say "We or Us" when talking about doing stuff with the students, it will put them off.

"Also, I would like to see a" - flip that round to say - i would also like to see a. it flows better

promising that everything will come true is an obvious lie. This would put student off.

you need to grab the attentions of all clubs, the sport/popular groups and the dreamers (crossing all groups).

the last line from the intro in the source can be adapted and used. "whatever you do dont be bored, this is absolutely the most exciting point to be alive." - (just what i would use

Good luck with your speech :D

Being a leader or student council.. i need help on writing my election speech !?

Okay.
Breathe deeply.

Tell the students that you want to be a member of the student council because you want to become involved in all aspects of the school and student life.

Tell them you believe that you would be best for the student council executive because you're a responsible student who has the best interest of not only the school but the students at heart as well.

Tell them you want to grow into a leader and that you need their help in order to do that. Let them know that a vote for you is a vote in the right direction and one in which they won't regret.

Tell them you look forward to the exciting year ahead and hope to work with other members of the student council to make sure that it is the best year EVER at the school.

Check with your advisor to see if they'll let you throw candy to the crowd at the end of the speech. That way you'll throw off the other candidates and the students will be more worried about your candy than the next speaker.

Don't share your speech with other candidates. Don't share anything with anyone else- because at the last moment- someone may be under pressure and steal your idea before you get the chance to use it.

Do you have a school cheer? If so- throw that in.

Make up a catchy slogan and throw it in there somewhere as well.

Look everyone in the eyes as you speak. (Practice the speech at least a dozen times.) Speak clear, slowly and be animated. Good/cute/funny posters always help. AND candy is always a sure fire winner.

GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!

Students and staff, do you want a responsible person dealing with student council funds? My name is Malu Foley and I am an 8th grader here at Roosevelt Middle School. I am running for student council treasurer as a reliable, trustworthy person, and I believe that with my meticulous work we can have a memorable 8th grade legacy project, as well as a fantastic end of the year trip. I feel that I am qualified for this job because I know how to effectively handle and budget money. Using my ideas, we can have a successful school year.
As student council treasurer, I promise to contribute ideas and intellect to student council as well as communicating with the rest of the student body. I will do this by sharing my intentions and solutions with my peers, and my hope is to get feedback in return. With your cooperation, we can have a successful year.
I am qualified for this job because I am straightforward, yet punctual and exact in my work. I get good grades in math, so my calculations can be trusted as being correct. I can assure you, if you vote for me as treasurer, we will have a successful year.
