I got rid of my acne scars with a combination of home treatments, peels and lasers. I had severe cystic acne and my scars were severe. I had hyper pigmentation and indented or box scars.Chemcial peels - The first chemical peel (glycolic acid ) made the most difference to my face. The hyper pigmentation disappeared and it looked clearer. The difference in the face with subsequent peels was much less. Chemical peels work for pigmentation and flat brown or red marks.Subcision - I had one session of this. I think this actually helps but my procedure was done by a competent but very very lazy doctor. Subcision works for indented scars and ice pick scars. This involved cutting the scar tissue that is stuck to the lower layers. This is done under local anesthesia. After waiting around with numbing cream on my face for an hour she spent exactly 5 minutes or less on my face. The normal procedure takes 1/2 an hour. Please find a good doctor.Lasers - I had 6 sessions of laser. I would say improvement was 40%. These are done at 2–3 week intervals. Actually even 4 week intervals are good.Face Masks - I started using face masks after I had completed my laser treatments. They require some patience and take about 2 months to work but they do. Take one tablespoon raw honey, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg, 1/4 teaspoon turmeric and rosehip oil. Mix all and apply to your face. Leave it on for an hour or more.Exfoliation - Regular exfoliation helps remove dead skin cells and smoothen your face.Vitamin C serum - Vitamin C helps in repairing damaged skin. And…heaven forbid, from the very top of the “Ridiculist”: soaking, applying, washing your skin with an acidic like lemons or limes or dousing it with vinegar, witch hazel, alcohol and other like products.Please don’t do any of the above nor buy any kooky, off-the-wall remedies that are meant to line the pockets of unsavory profiteers, leaving you with the skin you started with or skin that has become damaged with use of these remedies and products.If you are serious about wanting your skin to be the best it can be, consult with a Dermatologist. There are numerous procedures available to help. No one on Quora can tell you what to do to make your skin better. Only a licensed Dermatologist that you sit in front of can do that. How to remove pimple scars on my back?
I am 18 and i can remember during my younger years when i used to have annoying pimples along my upper back and shoulders....so i just used to peel them off and now a few years down the line i am stuck with terrible looking scars. i have no existing acne that is for sure. i now regularly scrub my back and apply cocoa butter to it (to be fair i have only been doing this for about a week!)....but should i be seeing results with this cocoa butter (it is palmer's and contains vitamin e!). any other suggestions people? - i want to be able to wear strappy tops in summer, plus my prom is at the end of this academic year. thanks in advance xxxx

What are the best treatment to clear acne scars?
I have been battling acne on and off since I was 17 and used a few products (retin-A and otc) and I use proactiv now and it works great. I also combine monthly chemical peels to keep my face clear. Okay, my acne is gone but my face has some scarring. Its not too bad (just a little red or brown here and there) but sometimes I wish I could go out without make up a little confident. Ihear microdermabrasions were good but the lady who does my chemical peels said it just clears away the top layer of skin and not removing scarring. But isnt that what a scar is? Any advice?
