I Have Been On Rogaine For About A Year Now .could It Be Making My Hair Worse

Will Rogaine work on bleach damaged hair?

wow, i had that happen to me, too. the stylist who was doing my hair went off on a smoking break for like 20 minutes with one her friends and when she saw what she had done to my hair all she could say was "oops." my hair turned into this soft straw-like stuff & wouldn't stop falling out.

i actually used rogain for women & nioxin. neither seemed to really do anything & i think rogain gave me a chin hair. ew! trust me, your hair will recover without any of those products, just leave it alone and stick to good hair masks. and like the girl above me said, biotin really works! it makes your hair & nails grow a lot faster. it's actually been proven to help with hair loss. and they are really tiny tiny pills.

frederic fekkai overnight hair repair is amazing!! it's like $60 for a little bottle, but what i do is order it off different websites & then call in and say it arrived damaged, so they send me another one...so it's not so bad. lol. also, ojon moisturizing conditioner (i buy it by the liter now) & alterna hemp/caviar shampoos (expensive as hell, but you can find the liter sizes on ebay for the same amount a little bottle costs in a store). i read that using hemp shampoos and oils in your hair makes it thicker.

Minoxidil is making my hair loss even worse...?

no! it is not normal!!

year ago my husband suffered very much from dandruff and hair loss too and he started trying everything you can imagine to stop his hair loss. the things that really worked for him was:

1) Vitamin A - an anti-oxidant which promotes healthy production of sebum in the scalp;

2) Vitamin E stimulates circulation. Good blood circulation in the scalp is important in keeping hair follicles productive. The 'B' vitamins contribute to melanin, which gives hair its healthy color and also stimulates blood circulation;

3) massage is also beneficial. Massage stimulates circulation. As already noted, good circulation in the scalp keeps hair follicles active. Experts suggest a few minutes of daily head massage by hand. Circulation through massage may be improved by using a few drops of lavender or bay essential oil in an almond or sesame oil base with massage;

4) Try rubbing your scalp with garlic juice, Onion Juice or Ginger Juice (you can either of one out of three, Do not mix any of two or three);

5) also he used herbal treatment - TrichoZed (do not use Rogaine - it will not work!)

It is a good product that helps prevent hair loss and contains Biotin and the clinically tested ingredients approved by the FDA to help re-grow your hair.! I think it is very important!

It worked and still works for him!

I do not know if any pharmacies carry TrichoZed but I do know that you should purchase it directly from the manufacturer and read more about the product here http://www.trichozed.info/ingredients.ph...

It enhances hair growth by blocking DHT (Dihydrotestostrone) - a major cause of hair loss!

good luck!

I have been on minoxidil for one and half years but find my hair fall isn't under control.What should I do?

Since you have used minoxidil without any positive affect, I think it's time to try organic approach.I had the same issue, my hairline from the front was thinning at a fast pace to the point my scalp was visible from the sides and top, together with that I was also having hair fall at an alarming rate. And just as you are feeling, my confidence level was majorly hit. When I met people, I would catch their eyes looking at my receding hair line and once or twice I was actually pointed out by my friends that I might now look good when bald. To hear that, was DAMAGING. I had nightmares for a few months where I could see my self almost bald. Not a good feeling it all.After many off the counter products not working for me, I did a lot of research and made a potent concoction of oils myself which did the trick, it took good 4 months of regular use (3 times a week) but the results were great.Here is the recipe:Coconut oil - (Extra Virgin) Is an Antioxidant which provides protein to the hair, prevents it from getting weak and seals in the moisture. Also helps block sun's harmful UV rays to some extent.Almond oil - Provides nutrients to hair follicles and helps in blood flow to the scalp. Helps in reducing hair fall and split ends.Castor oil - Helps make dark and prevents premature greying. As the oil is thick, it conditions the hair as well.Jojoba oil - Anti-fungal, unclogs pores and also helps in dandruff.Vitamin E - Provides antioxidants, Keratin strength and reduces fizz. Keeps scalp younger and healthier.Olive oil - (Extra Virgin) Helps counter DHT which causes male pattern baldness. Helps in treating dry and damaged hair. Will help make hair shine and become soft and smooth.Vitamin E: 8ml, Olive oil: 7ml, Jojoba oil: 15ml, Castor oil: 30ml, Coconut oil: 20ml, Almond oil: 20mlIf you are in India and unable to make this on your own, you can even purchase it from flipkart: Satthwa Hair Oil Here are my before and after:I wish you the best, let me know if you have any questions. Would be happy to help!

Can Rogaine make your condition worse than before?

Hello everyone. I was wondering if anyone that knows about Rogaine can help me with this question. I'm 33 years old and I noticed that I have a small spot on the top of my head that is not showing as much hair as everywhere else on my head. There's some hair. It's not completely bald. But it does bother me. My question is...If I decide to use Rogaine and then find out that it's not really working for me, then decide to stop. Is there a possibility that my condition will worsen than was originally the case? I only ask because I was reading on the website that if I stopped using it that I would start losing hair again. I just don't want to be more bald up there than now if I decide to stop using it. For anyone that experience with Rogaine, I would definitely appreciate input. Thanks!

Is it bad to use Rogaine just to make your hair thicker?

My hair is really fine and straight, I like it but I wouldn't mind adding a little more thickness to add more volume....would Rogaine help when it comes to thickening hair, and if I'm not going bald but still use it, is that bad?, will it make my hair fall out or anything?

.....and which one is best to use? foam? gel? pill? Any ideas do help and you don't have to answer them all i know its a million questions hehe... but anything would help. Thanks a lot in advance ! =D

Will rogaine and biotin help sustain my hair?

although there may be some factors of father-son inheritance involved, the baldness gene is passed down through the mother's side of the family.

http://www.webmd.com/skin-problems-and-t...

"The suspect gene variation sits on the X chromosome, which is handed down to men by their mother. So a man may get an idea of his scalp's future from men on his mother's side of the family."

"Our genetic data, however, stress the relative importance of the maternal line in the inheritance of [male pattern baldness]. This suggests that ... the resemblance should be greater between affected males and their maternal grandfathers than between affected males and their fathers."

Does minoxidil make balding worse if you stop taking it?

I'm 23 years old and balding. I first started noticing i was balding when I was 18 when my hair seemed a little thin in the back so I started using minoxidil and after a few weeks it thickened up and wasn't even noticeable anymore so I kept using it until I was 22. At the age of 22 I had to go to certain type of training for 6 months and since minoxidil wasn't permitted I had to stop using it. About the second month in I noticed my hair started thinning drastically both in the back and up front.
Now my hair is like this http://manlycurls.com/blog_new/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/hair-transplant-after-top-photograph-male-pattern-baldness-bill.jpg

I've tried shaving my head before and it looked ridiculous so that isn't an option

How long does the Rogaine shed last?

Ive been using Rogaine erratically over the past year and a half, and when I have been using it, usually only once a day. A little over a month ago, I started to double down on my rogaine usage and apply it twice a day, and the hair has been coming out in droves. My hair wasn't that bad before; I would've been fine if it had stayed that way for the rest of my life. Now my scalp hair is ridiculously thinner than before and I have a noticeable bald spot. Will this hair grow back thicker? That's the only way this could be worth it, because even if it only grows back the same, what was the point of this charade?
