I Have Hbsag Positive. I Want To Understand What Does The Report Says . Help Me.

What does it mean to test positive for HBcAb?

This is antibody is produced during and after an acute HBV infection and is usually found in chronic HBV carriers as well as those who have cleared the virus. It usually persists for life showing up on subsequent tests. Anti-HBc isn't a marker for vaccine-induced immunity. On the face of it, it appears that you either have or had hep B but I think you should have confirmatory tests. I suggest you follow up with your own physician.

As to how hep B is contracted, this is through through an exchange of blood and body fluids. You can have it and never know it at the time. Maybe there was a time when you thought you had the flu for a week or two but in reality you had a hep B infection.

I have different liver tests positive like HBV DNA,ANTI HBeAb reactive with value of 0.004, HbeAg(EIA) non re)?

HBV DNA POSITIVE, HBeAg non reactive, HBeAb reactive , Anti HDV(Igm) reacive,ALT(SGPT) VALUE 60 U/L ,AST (SGOT) VALUE 45.5 U/L, Platelet count 89,000/mm3
help me to know that what type of disease i am suffering and at what condition and level and what i need to do if i should start taking medicine. I visited doctor he suggested not to take any medicine just keep testing ALT if its value rise up to 90 then you must contact me otherwise no problem

Do i have herpes? I cant understand my test result page??

Here is what your test result is saying. HSV 2 (Herpes Simplex Virus 2 – your result is 0.10( I am assuming I am reading that faint print correctly.

EIA Values.
< 0.90negative
0.90 – 1.20equivocal ( In other words this is in a range where it could be positive or negative)
>1.10 positive

Your result is 0.10 which is less than 0.90 so you are negative

Everything else on this report is fine also. So you have nothing to worry about for Herpes, Hepatitis C or Syphilis (RPR)

What does HBsAg positive mean?

Hepatitis B is a liver infection caused by the hepatitis B virus (HBV). HBV is one of five types of viral hepatitis. The others are hepatitis A, C, D, and E. Each is a different type of virus, and types B and C are most likely to become chronic.A hepatitis B surface antigen test shows if you’re contagious. A HBsAg positive result means you have hepatitis B and can spread the virus. A negative result means you don’t currently have hepatitis B. This test doesn’t distinguish between chronic and acute infection. This test is used together with other hepatitis B tests to determine the state of a hepatitis B infection. You may visit hbsag test cost for more information about pricing etc.

What does hepatitis b negative mean?

More information is needed. If you have been tested for hepatitis B by doing a test such as the hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg), then this means that you simply do not have the virus and says nothing of your immune status.

If you have been tested for antibodies to hepatitis B surface antigen (anti-HBs) and it is negative, this means you are not immune to the virus and says nothing about whether or not you have the virus.

You need more detailed information for a conclusion.

Help confusing Hep B results!!!?

There are four possible interpretations:

1. The most likely:

A positive hep B core antibody total (HBcAb total) indicates that you have been infected with hepatitis B at some stage of your life.

The non-reactive surface antigen (HBsAg) indicates that you are no longer infected - the infection has fully resolved.

Usually people with past resolved infections will also have hep B surface antibody (HBsAb), but the levels of this antibody can fall off over time, and may become equivocal or undetectable after some years.

These results most likely indicate that you had hepatitis B many years ago, and the infection is long past.

2. Next most likely:

The hep B core antibody was a false positive and you've never had hepatitis B.

3. You may have very recently had hepatitis B and are now recovering. This is unlikely, as the surface antibody level did not increase between tests.

4. Least likely: You have a chronic infection, but the level of hep B surface antigen is too low to detect - hence the viral load test.

[Additional] while adults typically get hepatitis B through sexual or needle sharing contacts, young children can sometimes get the virus through normal social contact, as well as mother to baby around the time of birth or shortly after.

Core antibody is not the result of vaccination. Vaccination results in surface antibody production.
