How do I fix an "Insufficient storage available" problem on an Android?

There are some steps you should take.If you receive the message “insufficient storage available”, there’s no need to panic and immediately start deleting some apps, pictures, or music files. If you’ve still got some space on your device, the problem can be fixed fairly easily, but you first need to understands why it occurred. The error appears after you move large amounts of media files from the physical storage of your Android phone or tablet to a microSD card, and it is caused by the cache not being erased properly. What you will need to do in order to fix this is download a free app which takes about 2MB of space (this is why we said earlier that you still need some space available on your device). If you’re having trouble installing even something of this size, you can go ahead and delete something like a photo or two, or a song you’re tired of listening to.You can find out more here: Steps to Fix Insufficient Storage Available on Android - TheITBros

What do I do when a phone app says that I have 'insufficient memory'?

You need remember... there is a difference between storage space and memory. Which one are you low in? It sounds to me that it's memory and NOT storage... if that's the case, then uninstalling apps will have little effect. It sounds like you have too many apps running at the same time. One option is to try to stop your apps from auto updating... you go into your phone's Play Store settings to adjust that. You can also use Startup Cleaner to prevent apps from starting up when you turn on your phone. That won't work with the bloatware your carrier installed without root access... but it will work with most of the other apps you installed.

Another thing you can do is manually stop apps. Go to application manager... go to RUNNING... and scroll down... you will see what is currently running... then you can force a stop on that app and it should remove itself from memory.

Finally, one last thing people don't realize is... using a wireless router will speed up your phone considerably. All apps like to report back... and share usage info... and check for an update. If you use the data from your carrier... that will take so long.. and if you have a ton of apps... they are all fighting for the data connection. If you have a wireless router, it's so much faster... and I have my phone's setting adjusted to ONLY UPDATE through WiFi and NOT my data. So my phone is quick and feels light.

I have Micromax Canvas Magnus A117. How do I solve "insufficient memory space" on my Android phone (even if I have more than enough memory) while downloading any application?

From my answer from a similar question about the Canvas A116 HD.Nothing's wrong. That is the intended behavior. The Play Store tries to keep a certain percentage of total storage free. This is important because the system apps and installed apps also need space on the storage media to function, like to keep cache files, etc. After filling up even more space, at some point you'll also get a persistent notification saying "Storage space running out."The best way to avoid any such issues is to remove/uninstall/delete something else.If you still want to avoid removing anything, then you can temporarily remove some files, like music or photos, then install whatever app from Play Store, then copy those files back. The phone should allow that as long as there is space. If you have an SD card, then you can transfer some content or apps from internal storage to SD card. But not all apps are transferable. Go to Settings->Apps->[SomeAppName] to transfer that app. You'll find an option called "Move to SD card" or something similar. If you find "Move to Phone", then it's already on your SD card. There is no other decent way.You can install DiskUsage to see what's eating up your space. Some file explorers can also show usage information at a glance. If you are brave, and are willing to risk the phone's sanity, try this to enable any app to be transferred to SD card.Install and open Terminal Emulator.Enter "pm setInstallLocation 2" -or- "pm set-install-location 2".Don't try this with the apps you think are important to the operating system. It might not allow anyway. To reverse this, enter "pm setInstallLocation 0" -or- "pm set-install-location 0".2 means external storage (SD card), 0 mean phone's internal storage.Rooting your phone will let you do more about this situation, but that's an entirely different course of action. If you want to take this route: Google always helps.

Smartphones: Why does my Moto E say insufficient space every time I try to install an application?

I own a Micromax at similar price point and hence have similar specs with same memory allotment.Move as many apps you can to SD card. Yes, it won't move the entire application into the SD card but can save a lot of space.Even if you move/delete photos, videos and documents from internal memory you still would encounter such pop-ups.See Android memory management is well least to say "screwed"It has different memory allotted for file and different memory for installing apps.(See that 1.47 free space. Yeah you can't use that for installing apps, yeah I know)So ethier uninstall apps you don't need.If the apps are preinstalled then you can't do much about it than clearing memory or "uninstall updates" like I did for Google Hangout. To install apps, only hope remains is deletion of cache. I personally hate "task managers" such as CM cleaner (they are basically memory and RAM hogers)Goto Settings => Storage => (click on) Cached data Thus will delete cache and can save you upto 20-30mbHope this helps. :D
