I Have No Confidence And I Just Got A Job

How come I have no CONFIDENCE! I'm sick of it :( and need help!!?

Hi,

I sort of understand how you feel - I've felt like this before and it is tough.

We're all different, so I don't know exactly what will work for you, but since you don't feel your parents are helpful, do you have close friends you could talk to about it? Getting things off your chest can be a good first step in feeling better about yourself, you never know - you may just be imagining some things.

However, I'm not saying your issues aren't real when I say that. I don't know exactly where your lack of confidence comes from, be it looks, personality, whatever, but it can help to think to yourself about things you do like about yourself - you might not think about these when you aren't feeling too confident, so it can help to try and give yourself a boost.

If you feel there's things you'd like to work on about yourself, then go about making the changes in a sensible, feasible way - no-one can change overnight but there may be things you find you can improve on and these could help build your self-esteem. However, it's important to still be yourself- don't become someone else just to please others. It doesn't work. I just mean small things, like for example, I felt a bit of a confidence boost when I got a new haircut - small things like that, but can make all the difference to you.

Finally, I know it's difficult, but when you're out and about amongst people, just try to act confident - I know it's easy to say that - and that it's very difficult to actually do it, but if people even just think you're confident (even if you're not), you'll have a much better chance of developing some confidence. You don't need to do anything that makes you really uncomfortable, but think about what you do like about yourself and just try to let it show.

This isn't easy and there's no set answers to such issues, but hopefully you'll find something helpful from what I've said. Good luck!

I have no self confidence.?

I honestly don't know what to do, I seriously have just no motivation to do anything, Everything I try I just fail, I honestly need some help. Like, is there any ways to boost my self esteem?

Boss is ruining my confidence?

It doesn't sound like your boss is very understanding - and is undermining whatever confidence you can build. A super-critical person can make you feel like nothing you do is right. Or, ok - you may 'choose' to feel that way, but it is very hard to not feel bad when you are trying your best but someone is sniping at you all the time. How do you feel when you are there? Does working there cause physical symptoms - like insomnia or do you just dread going there? If it is really bad, then you should probably look for another job and then quit.

Are you worried about what your parents will think? If so, then it may be easier to get the other job first, -then- tell your parents. Sometimes once something is done - you aren't harassed as much as when a person still has leeway and can convince you to do things their way.

Also, i find it hard to make the connection between your working at 7-11 and your parents' chance of owning one - but either way, your health is more important.

Cheers.

Anxiety, lack of confidence and job interview?

I get interview anxiety, too. I think the best solution is to reflect on your past training experience. What did you do well? What are you most proud of in that position? How did you overcome a difficult situation?

I find it easier to practice my answers to common interview questions. Don't wait to cram the night before, start thinking about it now.

If you were a trainer for years before, you can do it again!

Should I get a nose job to improve dating, confidence, etc?

As a guy, I hope to God you love your mom because that is a f*****d up thing to say to her daughter. Do what makes you happy.

Why is confidence such a big deal in job interviews?

So let's say Iam interviewing two cooks. Cook1 - Very knowledgeable about food but no confidence. Cook2 - Very confident but has less knowledge about food than Cook1.I ask, "what do you know about pasta?"Cook1 - explains about pasta and what all ingredients can go to make it tasty in a shaky voice. He thinks he should say about other stuff he can cook with the same ingredients but due to lack of confidence keeps it to himself.I think - "well he does seem to know about pasta but see the way his voice is shaking. Seems like he has made pasta very few times."Cook2 - greets you confidently, asks me what kind of a preparation in pasta do I like and also tells me what more rather than the everyday plain pasta can he make with the same ingredients. I think - "Hmm.. apart from pasta he knows a lot of other things as well. He must have made pasta a hundred times looks like he is the better of the two" So you see what just happened. The first cook may have been having more knowledge but the interviewer doesn't know. His actions don't show it. The second cook might not even know how to make some of the things he claims to know how to make however his confidence convinces you that he is a better cook. The interviewer doesn't know you. He doesn't have time to analyse how much knowledge you actually have. You have limited time to convince the him/her that you are the right person for the job. That's why confidence plays an important role maybe sometimes even more than knowledge itself .

I've just tonight lost my job, what now?

There are a lot of people in this situation right now. If I were to offer advice based on my own opinion, I would say just to keep your head up and keep looking. I was in that rut a few months ago. I was in college and loosing money on tuition and basic living essentials. I couldn't hang out with friends because they always did things that I could not afford, but I kept my chin held high, and staved it out. I eventually got into a cabinet shop during their summer rush.

Job searching is difficult, so take anything that pops up. My job tips would be to create a decent resume. Make sure that you include your college and prior job experiences. Also, interviewers love interests (as long as they are appropriate). Use the internet to your advantage, and research possible workplaces before interviews. Don't put all your chips into one job, even if you got the interview, it will just crush you more if you get rejected. Most importantly, don't give up. The stubborn man is more likely to get the job.

As far as finding jobs go, just apply everywhere. Internet applications make this easy. Go around your town/block/where ever you live and just ask every business for an application.

I hope this advice helps, and best of luck on you in your job search.
