UGI security deposit?
Though this is posted in the wrong forum (computers/internet) I will try to help. I have had UGI gas and I didn't have to come up with a deposit even though I never had an account with them. I did have to with PPL the electric company. After a year of on-time payments, they just basically deducted my current bill from the current electric bill so I didn't have to pay the bill for 3 months (my electric bill was about $30/month and the deposit was $88). They also had to pay interest at 6%. The reason they do this is because so many people beat them (ie get the gas or electric turned on and pay the bill for a month or two and then quit paying). The net effect of this is that the other (paying) ratepayers have to pay more to subsidize the deadbeats. BTW I am not on the company's side as they get greedier all the time saying that they have to have a "decent" return to attract investors. Years ago, a "decent" return was 6% per year but in this day and age of hyper greed, they want 10 to 12% for their investors. Having said that, a couple of places you might check for help would be Salvation Army or Catholic Charities. I never went that route but I know of others who have.
What does "Your tax refund is scheduled to be direct deposited on January 29, 2010" mean ?
First, just to clear this up, since I saw it in one of the answers submitted to your question, the IRS does deposits on other days than just Fridays. I have seen that so many times and so many ppl think that is true so I am hoping to lay that to rest. The IRS used to only deposit on Fridays. Not anymore. We got our DD today. No we did not get the RAL loan or anything like that, it was a direct deposit straight from the IRS. As for your question, that means your money should be deposited tomorrow. That does not mean it will be available to you tomorrow. Your bank has several days to release the funds to you. It could also come anytime tonight. We were supposed to get ours tomorrow and we got it today. The IRS had so many ppl file early this year and last year that they are doing the DD in batches. There is no way they could possibly do them all at once. So they started doing them at the start of the week and will continue until tomorrow evening. Now the date the IRS gives you is NOT a promise! It is not an exact date. It says it is SCHEDULED to be DD on that date but it is not a guarantee. Over the last couple years, I have seen so many ppl become furious when their refunds did not come on that date. Most come when they are scheduled to but there is a large amount that do not. So do not be too surprised if it is not in there this weekend, although I hope for your sake, that it is. Good Luck and I hope this clears up alot of the confusion that is out there!

HE even said he knew it was selfish. If you said no, would that have mattered? Sleeping women cant say "no", nor can babies, or some disabled ppl. Does this mean they can't be raped? I gets many calls regarding jobs, who asks me to deposit some amount of money (1500-2500) for creating a referral before conduction of any interview. Are these reliable?

If they are offering a direct job bypassing the interview and asking you to pay for that, its scam and STAY AWAY.I assume the calls you get are regarding job "interviews" in specific. There are some genuine consultancies or human resource organisations which really want to help aspirants to find Jobs they deserve. Such kinds don’t charge anything from candidates, because they will be getting paid by companies. So, if any person/org is asking money for arranging interviews again STAY AWAY.I did little search and found these links on internet. My 2 roommates make lots of noise. I asked them to stop & they accused me of being rude & to move. Please help?
My roommates constantly play music. It's playing when I wake up at 7:30 AM and it is playing when I go to bed at 11 or 12 at night. The roommates are constantly laughing loudly and crazily, coming home late in the middle of the night and stomping through the halls. They have ganged up on me because they don't like that I study so much or that I have a mature lifestyle of working, studying, and being responsible and quiet. So I decided to withhold my portion of the utilities bill until the noise decreased. I explained this to them in a letter and explained how I couldn't get any sleep or finish my homework projects b/c of the noise. Currently, I spend about two or three of my waking hours at home. The rest of the day I am out working, at graduate school and studying. Before I moved in to this apartment, the girl said that she and her roommates always studied at the dining room table and were respectful. This couldn't be farther from the truth. Since school started, the roommates never study at the table, and it is impossible for me to study there...since they are always talking, laughing loudly, watching tv, and just generally ignoring me and my need for quiet. I've tried asking nicely and briefly first.. and then directly in a letter...and the roommate wrote me back an AWFUL letter calling me rude impolite, a recluse, etc...things that are absolutely untrue! I've been sweet to these girls in the past and they just don't like me or want to compromise. They said I didn't want to talk face to face, but that isn't true. They keep accusing me of doing things I don't do. They say I'm anti-social b/c I don't talk to them. But I don't have time to socialize and party with them. I am a full-time grad student at UCLA and work 30 hours per week. Things are hectic and stressful. I am holding onto the utilities check until we can work something out. I can't stand this and I can't move. I am locked into a lease and don't have enough money for another down payment for another apartment. Plus, work and school is so hectic that I can't move now. How do I deal with this???? It is so horrible that I'm crying every night. They are so awful with their ignoring me and mean treatment.
