I Have To Gain Weight But How

Why am I still gaining weight?

I have been exercising to two videos on Gabriella Whited s YouTube Channel (about 15 minutes of muscle building in the thighs, butt, and stomach) every day without skipping, and I ve been eating a high protein low fat diet for almost 2 weeks now and at the beginning I lost 2 lbs but since then I ve gained 4 lbs of fat and my stomach is 1.5 inches wider??? Am I doing something wrong? This is making me so depressed :(

Why is it so hard to gain weight?

I had your same problem when I was your age and younger. Ask your doctor/pediatrician about Kids Boost Essentials. They have like 365 calories in one little box. I had vanilla, strawberry, and chocolate. Also you can get them from the store but I highly doubt they're as potent as the ones your doctor can give you. My doctor shipped me like 3 big boxes of them a month through fed ex. I'm 17 5'9" and 163 pounds now. You have to drink 3 of them a day. That's 1095 calories a day. Some days I would drink up to 5 of them. That's 1825 calories. 2000 calories equal a pound so within a month you could easily gain a few pounds. They also have pills that can help you gain weight but I only seen that on TV with adults taking them and you're just a kid so I don't know if that'll be bad on your developing body or not. But seriously ask about Kids Boost Essentials.

I eat alot but don't gain weight?

Congratulations on your high metabolic rate and yourself lucky. Some big people want to lose weight and can't no matter how hard they try. This goes the same to those thin ones who want to gain weight but can't no matter how much they eat. But then again, your metabolism might change as you grow older, as it tends to slow down...thus you start to put on some pounds. So be as active in life as you can to maintain your metabolism in a tip-top shape!

How can i gain weight in my butt, hips, and thighs?

Hey, try a peanut butter sandwich or two right before going to bed, thats what i did and I GOT IT GOIN ON, but once you start to gain you have to stop eating it or you will blow up!

I'm trying to gain some weight, but I don't eat very much. What are some ways to make me eat more?

You already failed, when saying .. ''EAT MORE'', I learned this the hard way, spending thousands of dollars on food and still not gaining weight. People would tell me to ''EAT MORE'' so i did.. but i wasn't getting enough protein so even though i was eating cake and that was like 700 calories, and I got 4000 calories a day.. I wasn't gaining weight, because i didnøt get enough protein thoughout the day, when I was lifting as well. I was 62 kg at the age of 18.. 73 at the age of 20.. I was working out, but not making much progress concidering i only gained 10 kg in 2 years.. Then i started to study this. I went from 73 kg to 87 in 4 months (September to December 2014), 14kg in 4 months (16 weeks). When I went from 62 kg to 73 kg, I was eating 'ALOT', but the wrong foods.. I was eating choco pops and other unhealthy things with a lot of calories, in order to think i would gain weight. But didn't. When I gained from 73 to 87 I did it the right way - using macronumbers (Protein, carbs, fats) You need to eat 30g of protein every 3 hours. (1 g of protein = 4 calories / 30 g of protein = 120 calories) 7 meals a day. Each meal with at least 30 g of protein. So each meal is already 120 calories, because of the protein for your muscles. Now eat ALOT of CARBS. Rice for instant. 100g of rice = 350 calories. Do 200g of rice for each meal for like 2 meals/ 2 lunch meals every day.. Then it is 30 g of protein + 200g of rice = 820 calories (820 cal x 2 = 1640) AND THAT IS ONLY AT LUNCH. Then just eat something else in the other meals.. For instant I would eat alot of cereal for breakfast or before bed. But Cereal only has 13 g of protein for every 100g.. and 100g of cereal is alot. So I would maybe eat 100-150g of cereal and a protein shake for a meal, in order to make sure i got the minimum 30 g of protein for the meal. It's pretty simple though. When I gained, I was also blending like 200g of cereal and 1000g of milk into a shake.. thats like 1000 calories that you can drink in 2 minutes.. If you get 3500+ calories a day, that should do it. And if you lift aswell, you will surely start gaining weight.

How am I gaining weight when I barely eat?

A lack of calories is probably your biggest issue here. Just like it used to be my own issue, as this picture shows. That used to be me at 163 pounds at six foot three inches tall. When our bodies go into extreme caloric deficits (not eating enough calories) our bodies start holding onto body fat. When you do eat, your body uses as much of the nutrients and energy for it’s purposes, but also tries to store as much fat as possible.Body fat is stored energy and when you’re not eating enough your body worries it won’t get energy soon and it tries to store it away for harsh times. What I assume has happened is that since you’re in such a caloric deficit your metabolism is pretty shot and your body is doing it’s best to hold onto as much weight as possible.I’m not a nutritionist so take my advise with a grain of salt.I would install an application like “MyPlate” or “MyFitnessPal” and enter your information accordingly. Calculate your maintenance calories for your height weight and age and track your food intake.Eat at maintenance, you may gain more weight but this needs to happen to correct the damage your body has sustained.Once your weight settles and you get into the routine of eating regular meals and being at a set number of calories, then and only then would I suggest adjusting your goals to losing body fat. Most apps have a goal selection I would suggest setting your goal weight, your time frame being 3+ months out, and only eat at a 500 caloric deficit (500 calories less than your maintenance).Again the app will better suit it for your needs.I wish you the best of luck in this matter and hope everything gets better. As well, I tag this onto every post that pertains to eating and potentially having an eating disorder. There are resources like Call Our 24-Hour National Helpline TodayAnd many other options. Please get help if you need it, we want the best for you.I hope that helped!-Nick from UnmeasuredFitness - Get Ready To Be Strong

I am trying to gain weight but I always fail. What can I do to gain weight?

To understand how to gain weight you need to understand how your metabolism works.Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) and Total Energy Expenditure (TDEE)To get into the details, everybody has a BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate) which is the amount of energy your body will burn because it needs energy to function (enough to get your organs working properly, breathe, and basically live). Then you have your TDEE (Total Daily Energy Expenditure) which is the amount of energy you burn from your daily activities, working out, commuting to work, etc.Calories are your form of energy. If your Caloric Intake (how much you eat in day) is greater than your TDEE (how much energy you’re expending) then your body will store the excess energy as mass (whether in the form of muscle tissue, fat, glycogen, etc).In mathematical form: If Intake > TDEE then Weight Gain = Intake - TDEEThis also works in the opposite way when you are in a caloric deficit. If Intake < TDEE then you will lose weight at a rate of TDEE - IntakeConclusionAt the end of the day, you want to be eating more than you burn off! You may feel like you are already consuming a lot of food, but you will need to increase your intake to gain weight. If you are young and your hormones are running on full blast, you’ll be in a prime state to gain weight as your body will be in a position where it wants to grow. Even as you grow older, the same rules of Caloric Intake will apply.***I hope that you found this helpful and suggest that you please feel free to subscribe to my new YouTube channel (here: Nathan Kim) where I will discuss topics around powerlifting, increasing strength, and packing on muscle (among other general fitness topics). Thanks! :)
