I Have To Give Away My Cat I

My Mom wants to give away my cat!?

I have a cat named Candy of 4 yrs, and she is like a sister to me. I also have a dog named Kobe of 7 mths.
My cat has recently been tested positive for e Toxoplasmosis, and my mom wants to GIVE HER AWAY!!!!
Toxoplasmosis does no physicsl harm, but it has passed down to my mom, The virues does NOTHING if you are not pregnant, and my mom is way too old for that.
This cat is my pride and joy. I have had her since she was a kitten and have never given the thougjt of letting her go.
My mom also wants to.get rid of her because she can have an attitude and be mean sometimes, but my cat has lived with us to the point where we let her outside to take long walks by herself no supervision, and she ALWAYS comes back in 15 minutes. She is a very shy reserved cat scared of every human but mg family and I know for a fact Candy cannot handle going to a stranger's home

I REFUSE TO LET GO OF THIS CAT
How can I change my mom's mind- and quick!

Would my cat miss me when I give her away?

I m leaving for the Army in a few months, and I don t think I can be able to keep my cat since no one will take care of her. She is around 3 years old. I gave her away a couple days ago and miss her so much. She was such a great cat. I wonder if the cat would miss me too. I really hope she doesn t get depressed though and she learns to love her new home.

My mom gave away my cat?

Okay so I've had this cat for a little over 4 years, and I've never loved a pet so much out of the 5 we already had. My mom never exactly liked cats, and one day my sister and I woke up only to find out that our cat was missing, and my sister (being the sensitive/emotional one) wouldn't stop crying about it for months. I've never felt any worse in my life. I know this sounds stupid but this cat was pretty special to the both of us, and I just found out that my mother was the one who gave her away, and her excuse was that it was bad for our health. I'm not sure how to feel right now and i'm just upset that she'd take away our happiness because s h e hates cats. I tried asking for a small kitten now, and that's what brought this up, but she also refuses to buy a new one because "our furniture will get ruined"

My parents gave my cat away?

So my parents have always been upset about having my cat in the house for a couple of months because she scratches the furniture and doesn't use her littler box anymore. My dad is also allergic to her and since I'm at college, my sister alone has a hard time taking care of her. I love her with all my heart and yesterday I found out they gave her away to the animal shelter. I was extremely mad that I didn't even get to say goodbye, I've had her for 2 years now and she was the love of my life. Now i'm really depressed and can''t focus in school. I want to re adopt her so she can live with me in my apartment next year but my parents won't let me because they think I won't be able to focus in school with her around. What can I do now?

Should I feel guilty giving my cat away?

We have had the cat for 6 years and had her since she was 6 months. She is declawed, clean and doesn't shed. She does bite occasionally and smack you when you walk buy. She has started biting more since we had a baby. My son is twenty-two months and on occassion the cat will walk up to him and bite him. when he sleeps the cat goes to the crib and scratches against it waking him up. If I shut any doors, the cat will eat the carpet and get very stressed. WE always keep doors open.
The baby does not bother her at all. In fact you can tell from the baby's face that he knows she will bite him. She will rub against him, when he tries to let the cat sniff his hands she chomps on it. He cries.

Someone at work wants the cat. She had a cat die. I explained how the cat is, and my coworker says she is used to a fiesty cat and wants a cat to love. She has another cat (my cat does get along with others) Should I feel guilty giving her away? I feel awful

I have to give my cat away, will she be sad and miss me ?

in the next year i'm going to have to find a new home for my cat because i m moving to japan and i will not be able to bring her with us because the house my parents are getting doesnt allow pets ... i have a good home for her and i will be able to visit her when i come back state side occasionally, but my main question is

like do animals mourn or feel sad and depressed when their owners find them a new home? like is she going to be miserable with out me like i start crying because i dont want her to feel sad an stuff like that or abandon =[

the new people will take care of her an they have cats to im just so scared she is going to be hurting and upset with out me because we are like best friends and inseparable =/

How do I deal with my guilt & grief for having to give my cat away? I’ve cared for him since he was 8 weeks and now he’s 12. I’m going to miss him terribly. I feel that I’ve failed him. No family or friends will have him.

I’m sorry. Is there any way you can re-examine your options and keep him with you? Could he be declared an Emotional Support Animal by your doctor and hence allowed into housing? Is there a senior cat sanctuary nearby? Otherwise, call a no-kill shelter and see if they can hook you up with a rescue program and see if he can be fostered. Do an Internet search too. Even if it’s not close, it’s better he be fostered as shelters are stressful. Could you revisit the family and friends and offer to pay his expenses if someone will take him? Perhaps the expense is holding someone back.Ask your vet if he knows anyone. Perhaps someone has just lost a pet and would be happy to have a new friend. But if you’ve exhausted all avenues, know that he would never want you to feel bad.
