I Have Went Through Season Playoffs How Do I Get To Off Season

Do NFL players get paid for the off season?

No, they don’t. They get paid for everything they do, but they don’t get paid when they aren’t working.During the preseason, including any workouts or OTAs (organized team activities), they get paid a per diem based on how much time they have spent in the league, ranging from $1,000 per week for first year players to $1,800 per week for veterans.Signing bonuses are paid when the contract is signed. Other bonuses are paid when earned, which may be during the offseason (roster bonuses, for example, are usually paid in early March). Guaranteed money is paid at the beginning of the league year in which it is earned.During the regular season players get paid 1/16th of their salary for every game they are under contract and not under suspension (assuming their salary is guaranteed against injury, which is commonplace).During the postseason they are paid by the league on a per game basis.Strict work rules and ensuring players get paid for everything they do was an extremely important step. Prior to those protections being included in the CBA (collective bargaining agreement) teams would often require players to do work for no pay. That’s especially problematic when a player’s work could result in a career ending injury. That doesn’t happen any more. But it appears that some loosening of the rules is desired by both sides now. Players want their playbooks as soon as possible, but the CBA prohibits them getting one before training camp starts. They want to work with team strength and conditioning coaches and dieticians during the offseason, but they can’t - which forces them to pay for trainers and dieticians out of their own pockets. The hope is the current CBA signals that the NFL has reached a point where the relationship between teams and players isn’t quite so adversarial, and some activities that aren’t directly compensated will be allowed without any abuses resulting from it.

Why is the NFL football season so short?

Baseball, hockey, and even basketball cannot be compared to the sport of football. Football is much more of a physical and full contact sport. The reason the games have been shortened to 16 games, at least for the moment has to do with the players. The fact is, injuries happen in every sport. But when you are coming into physical contact as much as the players in the sport of football do, then you are more likely to grow tired, and suffer from more injuries. Lets just say you lengthened the football season to 30 or 40 games. With the amount of physical contact each week and in each game, the players would be good for nothing. You have to give players a break to rehab from injuries, get ready for the off-season, training camp, and even the preseason. My point is, players need the proper rest in this sport. Also there is the issue of players playing worn out which can cause the fans to be deterred from watching the games more intently. What I mean is, if you have players that are on the field not playing at a high level because they aren't healthy, then you have fans that walk away disappointed because the players could not give their 100% each game.

What do the Yankees need to do in the post-season in order to be ready to go for a World Series next season?

The short answer: Spend. Here’s the 2018 MLB payroll rankings by team (according to 2018 Major League Baseball Attendance & Team Age | Baseball-Reference.com):Boston Red Sox $233MChicago Cubs $202MSan Francisco Giants $202MWashington Nationals $189MHouston Astros $173MSeattle Mariners $169MLos Angeles Dodgers $165MNew York Mets $161MNew York Yankees $161MThe 9th highest payroll in Major League Baseball? Spending less than the Mets? There’s a lot of different numbers out there, some have the Yankees 7th overall, some 10th, but either way, the Red Sox spent the most, and won the World Series. Some extra payroll (even going to $200M) would be a big difference.

How does the soccer season work?

Hello Soccer fans I have a question about how the season works....for example being a fan of American baseball I get that in April teams report for spring training and a month later the beginning of the season starts and the season goes through the summer till October and then the playoffs starts and a little while later a champion is crowned.......but being a new soccer fan soccer seems very unorganized to me and I can't follow all of the NUMEROUS leagues and their schedules it seems crazy to try and keep up I love to watch and try and follow it but damn its HUGE and when does stuff like training camp begin and when does the season begins and then when does the playoffs is there one team that wins the "super bowl/World Series" if you will???can anyone help? Thank you very much

Why are there so much raven/flacco haters.?

Its funny how people underestimate the ravens, yeah they lost a few key players but its a buisness and sometimes you have to let go of people. kruger was good but he wasnt the best player on defence he was only playing cause suggs was out for half the season. courtney upshaw will easily fill krugers role that's why we drafted him from bama. we have plenty of young players who are ready to step up who have been waiting for a oppertunity to see the field. GM ozzie Newsome is great at finding people in the draft or free agency, and developing them into good players. must I mention the offence is still loaded with talent, Torrey smith, Ray rice, Vonte leach, Dennis pitta, Ed dickson, Joe flacco Jacoby jones. I think well be just fine at filling the emty spots on defence. The only player I would hate to see leave is Ed reed cause he is a veteran leader and a ball hawk, id say hes the best safety in the nfl but ed is getting up there in age and he easily gets injured now. I know what ed is capable of but sometimes you just have to part ways with players its a buisness and it sucks. just take wes welker as example.

What are some of the biggest in season turnarounds in MLB history?

Like for example has a team ever started 10 or 15 games under .500 and then came back to make the playoffs? I'm sure the ones that have if there are any are few and far between.
