I Just Woke Up At 6 Pm Would It Be Safe To Sleep Soon

What to do since I woke up at 6pm today? Can I sleep tonight?

I slept 14 hours straight up, with no memory of dreams or waking up in between.

I guess I was really exhausted? I went to sleep near 4am Friday night.

I have to go to a library to study tomorrow at 10am-6:30pm.

I can't sleep, I'm so wide awake and I didn't even have caffeine. It's almost 10pm right now (eastern time zone).
My body is acting like it's 9am right now. If I pull an all-nighter tonight, will I be okay tomorrow, considering I'll be driving an average of 26 miles total 'to and fro' from campus. I'm just worried about dozing off.

Is it okay if you sleep from 6pm to 1 am ( 7 hours) then wake up and stay up for the rest of the next day?

This all depends on your lifestyle and what's your routine is like.  I'm going to guess that your a very creative and smart person.  That being said, if your always on the move then you should sleep at least six hours.  The most important times to sleep are between the hours of 10:00PM – 2:00AM.  Make sure you are eating lighter meals at dinner and finish at least 2 1/2 hours before you go to bed, so that your digestive system isn’t hard at work while you are trying to sleep.  Lastly, make sure that your bed is facing East-West so that it isn’t in the magnetic field of the earth.  Sounds weird doesn't it?  There's a reason for that.  See if you can do some Yoga, it helps a lot.  Try this, when you get home, take care of your homework, then see if you can find a Yoga class, that will help you feel more flexible then when you get home, eat, shower, comb your hair at a wooden comb, then right before you go to bed, read a book for a little then a glass of water.  Then see what time it is when you done all of that.  If you can get to bed by at least 9:00 and get up at 2:30/3 that should be good.  Give it try and see what happens.   Good luck to you.

Is it okay to sleep at 6pm and wake up at 1 am? It is okay to do it as a daily habit.

As a Certified Sleep Science Coach- I can tell you that:The evidence seems to suggest, that for normal healthy adults, it doesn’t matter what time you go to sleep and wake up as long as:You get the expert recommended minimum 7–9 hours of sleep most nights, and you do this as part of regular healthy sleep habit and routine. Here’s a links to my recent Quora answer to learn more:Why is it harmful to sleep after 11pm? What's the difference between day sleeping & night sleeping? But if you have the choice, I think it makes better sense to wake up at 4 or 5 AM, which would mean getting to sleep by approx 8 or 9 PM.Here’s a links to my recent Quora answer to learn more:Is waking up at 5 am really worth it? If so, when should I go to sleep? This would allow you to balance enjoying the incredible benefits of waking up early, while at the same time allowing you more opportunity for healthy social interaction and day time natural sunlight exposure.Hope that helps!

I do not feel sleepy until 3AM and can't get up before 12PM. What should I do to change my sleep cycle?

You could have Delayed Sleep Phase Disorder. Your best bet is to try and reset your circadian rhythm every day. First, to get your desired bedtime, go to bed 2 hours later on successive nights until you're at the desired time. Say, 10 PM. If you're currently going to bed at 3 AM, that will take 10 days to achieve. Once at 10 PM, do the following to stay there:1) take 0.5 mg of melatonin 4-5 hours before bedtime. More is not better. At bedtime is worse. 2) get up a 6 AM every day. Your body will want to fall asleep again 16 hours later (or 10 PM). 3) in the morning, use a blue light for 45 minutes while getting ready. This (and #1) help to reset your circadian clock. In the evening, avoid bright lights - which means no computer or phone use after 9 PM (at the latest), as staring at a screen is essentially staring straight into a light source. Some drugs can be helpful if you have trouble with sleepiness during the day - namely, Modafinil. This drug takes away the "sleepy feeling" but is not a stimulant. You will have to adjust your caffeine intake according to how it affects you. Best is none. Otherwise, none after 5 PM (or earlier, depending on how it affects your sleep onset).

IS IT OK TO EAT TOAST BEFORE you SLEEP WHILE TRYING TO LOSE WEIGHT?

6pm to midnight is too long between meals; even eating the toast probably won't stop your hunger from waking you.

Drinking Cola before you sleep isn't helping either. It is a stimulant, as is anything 'carbonated' (fizzy).

Try eating something with plenty of protein in it (egg sandwich, toast with cheese & beans, etc) around 9 or 10 pm (four hours between meals is ideal) and a warm drink (tea wil do, especially with milk, but warm milk or hot chocolate is ideal) just before you sleep.

Doing some vigorous exercise in the afternoon or early evening will also help you sleep through the night, partly by wearing out your muscles so that they 'switch off' more completely at night, and partly by stimulating your appetite so that you are more likely to eat enough during the evening.

How many hours should a 9 month old sleep at night?

My 9 month old sleeps from 9pm-7am so 10 hours a night. It sounds normal that your little one is sleeping 9 hours. When my son was around 6 months his schedule was just like your sons. It was exhausting getting up that early! I let him go to bed when he wants though. If he isnt tired at 9 then I dont force him to bed, and if he wants to go to bed at 8 I let him. I just follow his lead. He eats 2 solid meals a day, 2 snacks and has bottles of formula in between. The day light saving messed me up since we lost an hour when he was getting up early, looks like you will have the opposite problem. Lucky!
