I keep waking up after 4 hours of sleep?

Perhaps this is a wake up call. No pun intended. Sleep problems can be a sign of a health problem too. Especially when you only sleep 4 hours and then you feel exhausted and tired. Get a friend or
someone that you know to be diabetic to check your blood sugar. Do it about two hours after a meal.
Normal will be between 97- 105.

It takes me at least 2 hours to sleep every night and 3-4 hours to get up after waking up every morning. What should I do?

It is not so much complicated. It is very easy steps for the good sleep. The following people will have good sleep always. The people who do more physical exercises or physical activities. When the body get tired, you will automatically go for sleep.Another important point is, the people who will have free mind, they will have good sleep. Free mind means, there should not be any worry in your mind when you go to bed. There should not be any depression in your mind. If you keep on thinking on one subject in the bed, then also you will not get sleep. Anxieties also will worsen the sleeping. Totally your mind should be very calm. If your mind not calm, it will take time to get settle down, once your body tired, then only you will get sleep. The food habits also will lead to sleeping problems. Don’t take any heavy food in the night. Also, you have to finish your dinner around 7 to 8 pm. You should have at least 2 hours gap between your dinner and sleep. Also, don’t drink more water when you go to bed. You will wake up for urinary. Especially, don’t take coffee or tea after 5.00 pm. It will instruct your brain to stop sleeping.Have some routine physical exercises , and increase your calmness of your mind and follow the good food habits. For your health, you are the best doctor. You analyze yourself what exactly doing wrong in the above three points. Definitely your problems will be one of the above three.Analyze yourself and take corrective action on your own and no one knows better than you about your health.Have a good health.

How unhealthy is it that I get only 3 hours of sleep every night?

Sleep is a very necessary function of the body. Without enough sleep each night you will have a host of problems.Your body handles healing itself during sleep (deep sleep time). Memories are consolidated. Things you are focused on are dissected, analyzed, worked out (hopefully) while you sleep.Without enough sleep you will have problems with memory, focus, and concentration. You will have trouble learning new things. Your body will not heal quickly or well. You are more likely to develop mental health issues. It puts you at much higher risk of a host of other health problems like high blood pressure, heart disease and stroke.By staying up so much you are also messing with your body's cortisol production. Your body must make more to keep you awake during those extra hours. So on top of problems that arise from not getting sufficient sleep you also get a host of problems and increased risked for other diseases because you are going to have an elevated cortisol level most of the time.I expect there are a bunch of other processes in the body that are adversely affected by lack of sleep. In the human body nothing happens in a vacuum. If you stress the body in some way there will be a number of things that happen in response to that stress. In this case the stress to the body is insufficient sleep. Why would anyone want all of that? Better to get 8–9 hrs sleep each night so your body can do what it needs to do to keep you healthy and functioning at your best level both mentally and physically.

How long can a person survive with only 3 hours of sleep every night?

Ive been (unfortunately) doing this for about a week and a half for uni exams. Not that I wanted to, just couldn't fall asleep and ended up lying in bed until morning.Been extraordinarily tired during the first hour, hour and a half (albeit just as usual with 7+ hrs sleep) but then I'm fine all throughout the rest of the day.Now that my exams are over I plan on going to sleep about 8 instead of 11–12 for a few days as well as not setting an alarm and sleeping in for a day or too to regain lost sleep. If I could go with this little sleep or no sleep without negative effects I would as I could get so much more done, but I can't so I dont plan and hope I don't have to do it again.Note: I do not recommend this without any medical advice before hand. I had visited my local GP and been prescribed some medicine as well as trying different natural practises.

4 hours of sleep a night but I'm not tired?

My friend told me yesterday that he gets about 7 hours of sleep a night, and takes 2 hour naps a day! I thought this was crazy until I researched that humans need 8 hours of sleep a day. I never really thought anything of this before.

I get 3-4 hours of sleep every night, I wake up very energized and jump out of bed. I also find it strange how people claim they have trouble getting out of bed. I never feel the need to nap. I exercise 6x a week, I eat healthy, don't smoke or drink, etc. I'm an 18 yr old female. I've been like this my whole life (needing little sleep).

What is wrong with me? I only start to feel slightly tired at around 2am. Should I see a doctor? I don't want to unless necessary though, because I don't mind getting little sleep- I like having a long day infront of me. I'm just wondering if this could be a symptom of something else.

Is it bad that I only get 4 hours of sleep a night?

Maybe. Maybe not. The real question is how do you feel? If you have energy and feel well, then four hours is your number. And I am soooooo jealous! I'm an 9–12 hours girl. I sleep greater than a third of my life away! I have tried to sleep less, but just can't function. My mind is slow and I am very irritable.I have a good friend who sleeps 3–4 hours a night, and has done so consistently since puberty….which was a long time ago! In that extra time he had earned additional degrees, worked extra jobs, read more books, and been able to live well in that night time world I miss every single night. I always envied him…but now, that he is old and his health failing, I have to wonder how much his shorter than average sleep cycle has contributed to his rapid aging while only in his sixties. There are restorative functions your body goes through only on slow wave sleep, your very deepest sleep, and you should cycle, or rather an average person cycles through about five cycles a night.A sleep study would answer the question it is I believe you really want answered.

How can I get through the day with only 4 hours of sleep at night?

It is not recommended to have 4 hours of sleep. It has drastic negative long term effects on your body. But since your asking if it happens to have only 4 hours of sleep the night before, and how do you cope your day. Focus on your job or task at hand, less focus means dozing off more often. Try to come up with a list of what to for the day and aim to accomplish it. I think that is what keeps you motivated instead of letting the sleep demons invade you. Thanks

Can I keep my cat in his carrier for 3-4 hours a night?

I live in a 2 bedroom apt. with a roommate. I have a 5 year old male cat. Because of the apt set up and the roommate, the litter box has to be in my bedroom. But at about 3-4 am, my cat starts scratching it and generally making a lot of noise, continuously, for a long time through out the rest of the night. I don't want to lock him out of the room but I also cannot let him keep me awake due to his scratching habit in the litter box and nearby walls. So my solution is to put him in his carrier. Once he's in there he settles down, he doesn't even meow, just goes to sleep. My boyfriend thinks this is psychologically and physically damaging to the cat because cats are most active at night.

So, consensus, can I keep my cat in his carrier for 3-4 hours a night?

How do I stop waking up each night 3 hours after falling asleep and not being able to fall back to sleep for another 3 hours? I'm healthy, don't have stress in my life and get 1-2 hours exercise each day.

A technique called ‘sleep restriction’, or I prefer to call it ‘sleep compression’, will help. Calculate how many hours per night you sleep on the average. Subtract 30 to 60 minutes. Choose a wake-up time and set the alarm to get out of bed then, even if it’s not a work day. Go to bed your allotted sleep hours before wake-up time. Don’t nap during the day. I can promise you that your periods of ‘WASO’ (wake after sleep onset) will decrease within a few days. Once you’re sleeping through the night with only one or two brief spells awake, you can reward yourself by going to bed 30 minutes earlier.“But, Doc, I’m already exhausted.” Yes, it will be tough for the first week but you’ll be enjoying your nights much better before long.
