You might have a problem with your choice. Samurai in general are not legendary. They were quite real and they were not just a character but a social class in Japan. You did not become a samurai. You were born into the class of the samurai and because your father was a samurai you to were expected to be a samurai. You might want to go visit your local library and check out a book about Japanese folk tales, stories and/or legends. There is bound to be a story in there about a samurai that is legendary but to do the topic in general just on samurai might not win you the competition.

Yes, it is a huge scam. They used to operate as poetry-dot-com but got shut down. They came back with a new name and have been targeting schools, posing as a "fund raiser." All the funds go to them! Yes, tell your teacher. Have her do a web search for America Library poetry + scam. There are plenty of warnings up. Don't be heartbroken, there's nothing wrong with you. There is plenty wrong with these guys if they're lying to kids, or to anyone, to squeeze money out of them. Below is an excellent website addy sponsored by a legit writers' organization, SFWA, a good place to look up literary scams. Learn about them, share with your class, and be a scam-buster! Then the next time a contest comes along you will be able to tell at a glance if it's real or not. The America Library Of Poetry scam or not?
I got a letter from The America Library Of Poetry and it says that the poem that I submitted is going to be published in the new book of poems they're going to publish and it's going to be called Eloquence. Is this a scam? I got the flyer of this at my high school and I thought that it must be legit but I'm not so sure now.... and it says that there would be some prizes like the $500 grand prize if you win. Is this real? Or a scam? And it says they're selling the author's copy at $39.95 total and additional copies for $25 each. The original price is $60.95 but it said they gave me a discount.... is this real or scam?and they told me also to send in some information to put in the book as the biography.....idk is this real or fake?

What is the funniest thing ever happend in everyone's school life?
Once we had an English solo song competition in our school. Since my school (Ramjas Public School, Anand Parvat, Delhi) was not a convent or Christian school but a normal public school which had more of desi folks, where we students normally didn't use to listen to English songs. So for that sake my English teacher planned for an english solo song competition as a part of internal assessment when I was in class 9.We were given 3 days to prepare a song of our choice. All of us downloaded and discussed what all songs we were about to sing in the class. While getting busy for preparations I forgot to tell one of my classmate who was absent on the day when the teacher announced for the competition. On the competition day we were revising and singing our songs in front of each other and trying to correct our mistakes in the morning time. The friend who was absent came on the competition day after recovering from illness. He was worried but though he was the naughtiest kid of the class he said I will manage don't worry. When we asked "how?" He responded you just wait and watch. Few of us sang the song. Some stuck while some did it easily. When my friend's turn came he took a pause and started singing "Brazil taa ra ra ra ra raa, taa ra ra ra ra raa brazil" (this was the most played song on weddings and dj at that time) The whole class laughed like mad. The english teacher's face was a mix of humor and anger at that time. She was confused with her feelings. She wanted to laugh and be angry at the same time. This song has only 1 word "brazil" and rest music so it was legally an English song. He got 2 on 10 but we classmates got a memory worth remembering.
Is the America Library of Poetry fake? If so what's their "Master Plan"?
It's quite funny because I got the same letter you did just today. But if you think about it, if our poems really were chosen to get published, why would we have to pay money so our poems can be published? Honestly, if our poems were deserving to get published I don't think we should have to pay anything. In addition, I did hear many complaints from The America Library of Poets. I applaud your actions and it's really too bad that these books are being read undercover(so to speak) and not in a classroom with a healthy discussion guided by an educated teacher.
