Is reading the ASoIaF books better than watching the TV series Game of Thrones?

If you would have been a bibliophile, and if you were into reading fantasy fiction, you would not have asked this question, so I am assuming, you are not much of a fiction reader.Considering a person with above profile, watching the TV series is a better option , following are my reasons :- Brilliantly scripted, great actors, interesting story.- Much simpler , than the book, many complex stories and character arcs have been simplified for the TV viewers.- Entire imaginative languages have been created for the TV series like dothraki, valyrian etc.,  books only dealt with a few catchy phrases and not entire languages.- As of now , books are lagging behind . And TV series have surpassed many story arcs.-waiting time for the 6th season of TV series is 10 months,waiting time for the 6th book has already been 4 years, and it still may not be out before next season. ( I bet 7th book will take another 5 years, after the 6th book )Now, for those people who love to read hundreds of pages without hesitation and who especially love reading fantasy (like me), following are the reasons for why you should read the books :- Books are way more interesting- more complex, more caharacters, more stories ( Back stories of many minor characters are really interesting)- The chapters are written in POV perspective, i.e. as a reader you would be moving ahead the time line along with the different characters, and you would be virtually inside the head of those characters.- Books deals extensively in flash backs, memories, histories etc (Untill Seson 5, TV series avoided flash backs), which helps to generate interest in a much better way.- Many a times, stories which are much difficult and costly to potray on the screen can very easily be potrayed in the pages of the books. There are many such scenes, missing from the TV series.Now, my personal advice to you would be to do both the things, i.e.  watch the series and read the books:As as of season 5, TV series have extensively deviated from the original storylines of the books. In many cases Series have actually moved beyond the books. So, it means you would be able to enjoy two different endings, if you do both the things.  If you want to go for this last option, I would suggest you to read the 5 books, prior to watching the series. the other way round, i believe can be confusing and boring !!Thanks for A2A .
