Can you wrap natural, unrelaxed African hair to make it straight?

You can't make it straight per se. The point of a wrap is to MAINTAIN the straight style you've created with a rollerset, flat iron, or blow-dryer first. If you don't/can't use heat air dry your hair with a leave-in and rollerset. Then use a wrap to maintain your style so you don't have to flat iron every day. Remember to alternate so you can avoid breakage. You can use a hand held dry and anything damages hair, merely touching it will damage it. In fact, when you hair first pops out it's damage. Sad but true. Your hair is no healthier than a shoe lace but it can be "well preserved."

If your hair is broken I would do this wrap every once in a while because of the manipulation and would avoid heat for several months which is why I'm suggesting you air dry with a leave-in and roller set when you do use this method.

I'm also going to ask you to not use shampoo, add a porosity control product (roux makes a great conditioner) and to add ceramides to your regimen. They can be found in wheat germ oil, sunflower oil, and walnut oil. You can add it into your conditioner or you can look for products with them already in it.

So your going to do something along the lines of this:
pre-shampoo treatment & detangle>Clarify>moisturizing shampoo>porosity control>Moisturizing conditioner>rollerset with leave-in (add ceramide to leave-in)

If this moisturizing regimen doesn't work after about a two weeks switch one of the moisturizing shampoo/conditioner with a mild or light protein one and continue to moisturize. Only use the shampoo once and stop using it for about a month. After a month you can start using it again weekly.

I hope this helps. Don't forget to sleep on a silk pillow case or scarf.
