I Need Help I Used To Play A Pc Game In The Early 200

Newer PC Games That DO NOT Require Steam?

I think Empire: Total War is the first one to use Steamworks, so anything before that wouldn't use Steam. Shogun 2 uses Steam. It's unfortunate you don't want to use Steam because it's truly an awesome game.

Any game made by EA wouldn't use Steam. BF3 is the only one so far that actually requires Origin though, so any of the Command & Conquer games wouldn't, nor does Battlefield: Bad Company 2.

Can someone help me for a home theatre PC build?

My 10 cents:On the cheapish side, Intel’s latest CPU family (Kaby Lake) has an integrated hardware renderer for 4K video, so you might not even need a GPU, but if you will use it for playing games you definitely do.So, I’d recommend a reasonably high-powered Kaby Lake i5 or i7 (in any case). To be able to game at 4k you probably need a GTX1070 or maybe even GTX1080. The CPU-integrated GPU won’t handle much of anything. You don’t need SPDIF, unless the amplifier is wonky. You need at least HDMI 1.4 for 4k.The important thing audio-wise is to not rely on the TV for that at all. Audio should be streamed to a dedicated amplifier and out to at least a 5.0/5.1 system, with large front speakers for both movies and music, and slightly smaller speakers in the center and back. A sub-woofer is optional in that case. The TV should just be a monitor. HDMI 1.4 supports an audio back channel, so you only need one cable between the amp and the TV even for the audio coming from the TV.

Could you help me build my first PC?

I would suggest this alternative build: Core i5-6600K 3.5GHz Quad-Core, GeForce GTX 970 4GB Superclocked ACX 2.0.I’m assuming you’re building this for gaming, in which case the hyper threading of the i7 series is not very useful. In general, modern games are not very CPU intensive, and you’ll rarely find your framerates limited by your CPU. The only game I can think of where you’d be missing a more powerful CPU is Civilization, and even then it’s a 15 second turn vs 20 second turn in the late game.I also added a SSD, since the performance of SSDs far outperforms that of a hard disk. It has the biggest immediately visible impact on a computer’s performance aside from the GPU. You should install your OS on the SSD, and any games you play often. You can move less played games, as well as movies and such to your HDD.I left the 970, but a 1060 is also a reasonable choice. They’re comparable performance and price.

What does frames per second mean in gaming?

I play a lot of Counter Strike and Frames Per Second is one thing which, if not appropriate, then I find it very difficult to play well. And trust me, I play damn well in Counter Strike :)Anyway, here is how I understand FPS in layman's terms.FPS in Layman's TermsThe basic concept is to know how a video is generated.Any video that you watch, is basically a collection of still images stitched and displayed together in a sequence. An Example:Suppose, you want to create a 10 second video. You have 200 still images with you.So you combine all these 200 still images and stitch them and produce a 10 second video. Because its a 10 second video, every second of the video would display 20 images (200/10)Thus, you get 20 fps. Now, assume you have 1000 images with you.So, you combine all these 1000 still images, stitch them and produce a 10 second video. Here, every second of your video would display (1000/10) ie 100 images per second. And here you are getting 100 fps. Thus, Frames Per Second or FPS - is essentially, a count of number of still images that is displayed per second on your visual device (TV, laptop, computer, phone, any other imaging device)How it helps?A higher FPS helps in more smoother game play while playing computer games, a more enjoyable viewing experience while watching films etc.How do I improve FPS?In case of gaming, it is important to have good hardware and most importantly a good monitor to.Interesting stuff to noticeTry recording a video of what is coming on your TV. If you've already done that earlier, you might notice (only in the recorded video) a white line scrolling horizontally across your TV. But if you watch the TV otherwise, you wouldn't be able to notice it.The reason that happens is that TV is emitting video at a different FPS and your recording device is recording at a different FPS.In case if you want to have some more fun to play around with FPS and how it looks, check out the below link.which looks better?

What is the fastest way to get good enough to play competitively in CS:GO?

first of all, as someone which is only starting out, define your target:1. get actually good and play to win, this will require dedication and wont be fun in the begining.2. have fun, you can just play it casually and have fun in casual and stuff... just please, dont go to competitive mode if you arent looking to win.option one requires couple things, first of all gear and setting:a gaming mouse, not a fancy one, but it hes to be ergonomic and have a dedicated software drivers, i recommend logitech razer or steelseries.an ok keyboard, one that you can double tap easily.big mousepad.headphones, if you can get sorround sound once (i recommend logitech g430), otherwise anything is fine.MICROPHONE, please use mic..ok, now for some setting YOU HAVE to get right.no mouse accelration. mouse accel makes it impossible to consistently move your mouse, making flick shots impossible.low mouse sens. i know your used to only moving your fingers to do 360, but to play cs in competitive you will need lower sensitivty (arround 400 dpi and 0.8-3 ingame). this will require moving your hole hand to do 180, the perfect sens is the one you can do 200 degree turn with over your hole mousepad.now for training:play on dm servers, particularly headshot only and aim maps.aim for the head, only.learn spray pettern, theres a dedicated map for that.after you can outaim dm people (getting over 2 kdr in public dm server with ak) start ptart practicing maps, by this point you can start a comp and pretty much destroy anyone till mg2.. (you can do unranked comps at faceit to try it out), after you know couple maps well (by knowing well i mean knowing 20+ smokes 5+ one way smokes and all boosts) you can effectivly win all the time if you have good team mates. so look for some friends, you must have got some till now, play together, show them your not silver in private server..have fun.

Why are all my pc games lagging (Toshiba Qosmio)?

Intel 2nd Gen Core i5 i5-2430M / 3.0 GHz
8gb Ram
1 TB (Only used 200gb)
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560M TurboCache

I play games like Simcity 2013, Amazing Spiderman, Resident evil Operation
All these games lag alot not sure why, I have nothing open except the game. All my drivers are up to date.

Simcity worked fine on ultra setting, now it lags even on normal graphic settings.
I use Ccleaner to clean the cookies and all, and I'm protected

What should I do?

Should i buy a gaming pc?

I'm considering getting a gaming pc because i wanna give pc gaming a try. My current laptop is a horrid piece of [insert vulgar word here] because it's not great for gaming. But the problem is that i'm not sure if i'll stick to gaming. What if i buy gaming pc and not like gaming? Would it have been a waste? Will my gaming pc still be good for other non-gaming things?Like surfing the internet, entertainment etc? The last part's important. I mostly use my pc for entertainment (youtube, movies, netflix). Will a gaming pc be good for that since it has a better graphics quality?

Is runescape 3 worth playing?

i used to be a dedicated runescape player. I've been playing since the beginning of 2006 and stopped playing entirely in 2011-2012 cause i started playing league of legends and i still do. Im trying to reduce the time i waste playing online so i thought about switching to a less competitive game and the first to come to my mind was runescape. If i remember correctly back in 2011 i had 130 days online not considering the days online when i wasn't paying for the game which should be a lot more. Now i'm not bragging about it i just wanna show you that i used to play lots of rs too

so is runescape 3 worth playing? Not necessarily as a member like i said i just wanna switch games and i wont be playing that much anymore but as far as i noticed when i logged in the servers are almost dead most of them barely exceed 200 ppl online. I don't wanna play in rs2007 i don't have the patience neither the apetit to start from 0 so please tell me. Should i start playing just for the skilling or not and why?

I am doing a $200 gaming PC build, what parts would you buy?

I suggest you buy a PS4 instead. Presently cannot build a gaming computer capable of running current games with that money. I have an old computer with a Pentium 4 CPU running at 3.0GHZ, with 4 megs of DDR2 memory with an old AMD Radeon 6570 video card capable of running old Steam games like Bioshock and old Dishonoured and a few other older Steam games. You could get a refurb computer for $80 bucks plus the HD6570 for another $60 bucks to run some of those older games, but if you want to run today’s games you will need to spend at least $400 bucks minimum at best. I suggest you do as I do and get a PS4 instead. And you can rent games from Gamefly for $17 a month. I am currently playing Red Dead Redemption II on it, and use my PSVR helmet to see it on a virtual large screen. You can probably get a PS4 and PSVR helmet and camera altogether for around $500 today. It’s your best bet on a limited budget to run today’s games and for VR content as well.
