How do I make my smoothies the right consistency?

You can try adding water or ice to change the consistency. It mostly depends on the ingredients you are putting in the blender and how much liquid they contain.Oranges and grapefruits, for example, have a lot of juice in them. You may not need much, if any, extra water if you are using fruits like this. You may need to add some ice to thicken it up if that’s your preference.Fresh fruits and veggies will blend thinner than frozen ones. If you are using frozen fruits or veggies you’ll want to add some water. Start by adding 1/2 cup to 3/4 cup water, and add more as needed.Adding leafy greens will help to thicken a smoothie, and so will most other veggies. I like to add carrots or beans when I want to thicken things up.Many people like to add bananas as thickeners, but I try to avoid them if I’ve already added fruit to the smoothie. When you add a lot of fruit to a smoothie you end up with a lot of sugar. To thin out a smoothie: Add water until you reach the consistency you want. If your blender gets jammed, carefully slide a spatula down the side of the blender to allow the liquid to reach the bottom. To thicken a smoothie: Add ice or frozen fruits/veggies. Add greens or other veggies like carrots or beans. Protein powder is another way to thicken a smoothie.I used to have the issue you are having. Sometimes I’d have to add so much water to my smoothie to thin it out that I’d end up with double the amount I wanted. That usually happened when I used frozen fruits and veggies.I recommend you start making notes of your recipes. This will help you learn how much liquid or thickener you need when creating them. Write down how much of each ingredient you used, and make comments like TOO THIN! or WAY TOO THICK!After a while you’ll get the hang of it.If you are looking for some recipes to help get you going, check out the ones here on my blog.Good luck!

I love pear smoothies!Yes, you can absolutely make a pear smoothie in a blender. Remove the core of the pear first and keep the skin on the pieces or pear you’re going to blend. The varieties of pear smoothies you can make are amazing. Can I use almond milk to make a smoothie?

How to Make an Almond Milkshake:
Steps
1. Pour 1 1/2 cups (355 ml) of almond milk into a blender. You can choose plain, vanilla, or chocolate varieties depending on your flavor preference. For a healthier shake, choose unsweetened almond milk and let the other ingredients add the flavor.

If you want to create an almond milk smoothie, rather than a shake, add 8 oz. (237 ml) of non-fat yogurt. Reduce the almond milk to 3/4 of a cup (177 ml). Use almond, soy or coconut yogurt to make the smoothie completely lactose-free.
2 Slice 2 medium-sized bananas and put the pieces inside the blender. If you do not like bananas, you can replace them with another thick fruit, like mango. The banana gives the shake a thick consistency, and adding flavor.

3 Add 2 to 3 tbsp. (43 to 64 g) of honey, agave nectar or almond butter to the blender. Refrain from adding these sweeteners if you have used chocolate or vanilla almond milk.

4 Add 2 cups of berries (approximately 302 g), if you want to create a fruit milk shake. Strawberries, raspberries, or blueberries add both nutrition and a tart taste. If you don't have fresh berries, add frozen berries without thawing them.

5 Pour in 1/2 tsp. (2.5 ml) of almond extract to enhance the almond flavor of your shake.

6 Add 5 large ice cubes to the blender.

7 Cover the blender with the lid. Turn it on to a low speed. Let it run until the contents are smooth, about 30 to 45 seconds.

8 Pour into tall glasses and place a straw inside each glass. This almond shake recipe makes 4 servings. Cut the measurements in fourths if you are only making 1 shake.

9 Finished.

Things You'll Need

Blender
Almond milk
Banana or mango
Non-fat yogurt (optional)
Honey, agave nectar or almond butter
Almond extract
Berries
Ice cubes
Tall glasses
Straws

How can I open a smoothie franchise?

Thanks for A2A.I would start your search with Franchise Business Review or browsing the IFA’s website.Once you’ve narrowed it down to a few different concepts, visit the websites of the brands and fill out their online request for information forms. Depending on the concept, they may not have the territory you want available so keep a few different options available. After you’ve had some initial calls with the franchise development teams at the brands you are interested in, you will want to review their FDD to learn the details of what all is involved in the particular concept and if it it something you would like to continue the process with. Each concept will have their own discovery process or candidate approval process, so you will most likely have to fill out applications (sometimes referred to as “Request for Consideration forms”) and provide some personal financial information if you decide to move further than the initial steps with a particular brand. All in all, you should plan to spend at least 30 days on your due diligence of the franchise brand before making a decision. This should include reviewing the FDD (I’d recommend having an attorney who specializes in franchising review it as well), validation calls (speaking with existing franchise owners to get their perspective), drafting pro forma’s (again, get with an expert on this), and performing some introspection to see if it’s something you can see yourself in long-term.Investing in a franchise is a life-changing decision and should not be taken lightly. You will most likely be signing a 10–20 year franchise agreement and putting up substantial capital so don't rush the decision and spend as much time as you need performing proper due diligence.
