I Only Want Google And Yahoo. I Do Not Need Bing How Do I Remove It

I have firefox and google is my homepage I need to get bing to stop popping up when I open a 2nd tab?

This is what I'm thinking.... you downloaded a free program and while you were installing it, you selected the DEFAULTS that included the free Bing Bar.

When you install anything.. especially a free app or game... always select Custom/Advance Install options because they will always sneak in toolbars or bloatware into the programs. Yahoo does the same thing with Yahoo Messenger. Adobo does the same thing when you try to install or update Flash. Some times it's a toolbar, sometimes it's Norton Security Scan that's added... sometimes it's Chrome... even your search engine is changed if you are not careful.

If you have Bing stuff... first go to Add/Remove programs and search there to see if Bing has been installed. You can remove it from there. I would recommend scrolling thru this list to see if other stuff has been installed that you are not aware of.

Open up your browser and click on ADDONS. Now scroll down and click on PLUGINS. What do you see there? Over time.. lots of junk accumulates there. It's a good idea to check this every once in a while so you can remove or disable some of the stuff you don't want or need there.

USEFUL ADDON FOR FIREFOX
Here is one of the addons I personally use. It opens up new tabs to your homepage

I want google as my homepage i don't want yahoo as my homepage?

Please open an Internet Explorer browser window. Pull down the Tools menu, and select Internet Options. In the General tab, the top entry is Home page, and in the box provided, just type http://www.google.com/ and click OK to save and get out, next time on Google (or whatever address you type in the box) is your homepage.

Another more direct way would be to open http://www.google.com/ and in the main page there is a link called "Make Google Your Homepage!" . Just click on that link, and it will set Google as your homepage

I want google, not yahoo! Help?

open the tools or options from your browser, edit your home page, if it didnt work then delete your addon , or extensions....
you may have tab bars or something that is currently annoying where it imply its root to change your root. after you delete it then you will be good to go

First you are exactly right about how annoying and unwanted they are.  Some of the other answers are right about ceasing to use all google products and services, but here are some further details.Do not simply switch from Google to Yahoo or Bing,  they are just as bad, if smaller.  Pick a search engine like DuckDuckGo, or the one used in TOR, that does not track you.  For email use proton mail, which is based outside the US, and which offers encryption.  You can actually use an android phone if you root it and replace the operating system with a generic one like Cyanogenmod.  That is better then using an iPhone, because again, Apple is just as bad.  Or you can use a "dumb" phone.Google has more services than were mentioned so far, particularly YouTube, Google+, and google voice.  Don't use those.Your browser's "signature", comprised of many different pieces of information, is practically unique and can be captured by every website you visit, so each website can still keep a unique profile on you.  To see how unique, go to www.eff.org and search for their "panopticlick" tool.  Trying to make your browser less unique is hard.  Instead use a VPN or TOR so at least the websites have no idea where you live.Remember that Google crawls all the websites on the net gathering content from them.  So every time your name is mentioned on a website, or you sign your name to a social media or blog post, google gets that information too.  Stay anonymous or adopt a pseudonym. And of course google your own name to see what they currently have on you, and where it comes from.  There is not much you will be able to do about the past, but you can take control from here on.

Does any one know how to remove BING I did not ask for it and I do not want it!!!?

Default
It should be in your Add/Remove programs but if it's not, we'll presume you're using IE8 and go from there so we can at least disable it.

1 - Enable IE8's toolbar. To do that, right click on IE8's toolbar and enable 'Menu Bar'.
2 - Go to the 'Tools' menu and select 'Manage Add-ons'.
3 - Select/Hightlight BING Tool bar and click on 'Disable', in the lower right.

Close, re-start IE8 and you should be all set.

How do i go back to google screen instead of yahoo?

depending on what browser you use to change the home page follow the following steps:
Mozilla Firefox: go to Tools>>Options>>>
and in the start up column, change the home page to www.google.com

in internet explorer:

go to Tools >>Internet Options>> and in the home page tab,
change it to your new home page ie www.google.com

My first thought was just saying "Google is better", period. But as I like to challenge my own beliefs, I made a search in both search engines to see what came up: "is yahoo better than google?"Results were very similar and I've found these two articles that may light up some insights on the subject:Surprise: Yahoo Is Now Actually Beating Google in traffic.7 Things Yahoo Does Better than Google - Search Engine JournalSo the answer might be: Google's search engine is still far better than Yahoo but Yahoo, as a company, has some services that Google can't beat:1. Yahoo Finance2. Yahoo Answers : Q&A3. Backlink Reporting via Yahoo Site Explorer4. Flickr : Photo Uploading & Sharing5. Local Search : Nuff Said6. Entertainment7. PrivacyThank you for your question, I've learnt something in the way :)))

Google offers Image search through Google Images, by either pasting image URL or by uploading an image. Bing also provides same functionality with Bing Image Feed, with same methods, even allowing to take photo through camera. Yahoo has some watered down service via Yahoo Image Search available. Why do Search Engines do not offer image search in the first place through homepage? It is because, users are normally looking for textual information. Yes, graphical information augments the user in understanding the complex texts. But images on there own, can not explain meaning in a conclusive manner. That’s the very reason about the advent and success of info-graphics.Digital Technology era is all about standing apart from the competition.
