Attachment problems in YahooMail - paperclip icon but no attachment?

A guy posted a similar question here a year ago: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/?qid=2...

Except for one idiotic response ho got no solution. I find that troublesome considering this is a Yahoo site and it concerns critical functionality of YahooMail. If I don't solve this I'm closing my Yahoo account sine obviously having an email service incapable of reliably delivering attachments is worthless.

The email I received was supposed to have an attachment. I'm not saying the sender can't screw up, but if there is a paper clip icon in the inbox header, I expect there to be an attachment when I open the message. That sounds like a screw on the YahooMail side.

I'm on Firefox, have tried other browsers too. I've also tried to forward the message to another email elsewhere. No luck, once received on the other end it shows no sign of an attachemnt. The original message has 24KB, when I forward it it shrinks down to 4 KB, so clearly there's something inside it. Thanks in advance for help.

How i save attachments in Yahoo Mail draft?

If you sent/received the message all the attachments/photos will be in MY PHOTOS/MY ATTACHMENTS.

i don't understand why you use DRAFTS as your storage. Yahoo has unlimited storage so you can save them anywhere as long as you don't delete the message.

I am not sure you can download from the DRAFT folder. Send one of the messages to yourself and see if you can open it once it gets to your inbox. If it still doesn't work, try below.

Check to see if you have the following downloads..
.Media player 11..
.adobe reader 9
adobe flash player 10
java
microsoft power point viewer 2007

You can check by clicking on START...CONTROL PANEL..then ADD/REMOVE...once that populates you will see what you have in your system... If any of them are missing you can go to microsoft.com or download.com and find them...You can also enter each name individually in your browser and add the word DOWNLOAD after each one and you will get a website that will provide the download. On PPS files...opened by Microsoft power point viewer 2007.Most of the time it will not automatically open...In Firefox just RIGHT click on the attachment inside the box and then click on OPEN...On other types of Internet Providers...IE: Internet Explorer...RIGHT click on DOWNLOAD FILE and follow the prompts....

In my case my PPS attachments are saved to my desktop. If this occurs for you Power Point viewer 2007.....if you save it to your desktop....will have an icon on your desktop. Now...when you go to your desktop and the icon for your attachment is there double click on the Power Point viewer icon and the box should appear with...hopefully, DESKTOP will be displayed in the LOOK IN box at the top. If it is not click on the down arrow on the right side and desktop will be an option. Click on that and Desktop will go in to this box and everything on your desktop will be displayed below. Click on your attachment and it will go below in the File Name box. Click on open and your attachment will open up for you..

Also, check this website for additional suggestions.

In addition...when you have problems viewing photos/attachments in your email you can click on MY PHOTOS or MY ATTACHMENTS and they should be in there..

How do i download attachments from multiple emails in Yahoo !Mail Beta?

The first thing to do is to open the message. Click on it in your Inbox.

Photos

Any photos attached to an email appear as thumbnails beneath the text of the message. Click the thumbnail image or Scan and Save to Computer to add an image to your own records. Or, if you’d like to save it to your online photo library, click Save to Yahoo! Photos.

Along the bottom bar of the attachment window is a third link: View.

Clicking View beneath an attached image does not open the image immediately for viewing, unfortunately. View first scans the attachment for viruses. When no virus threat is detected, you can click the Download Attachment button to either open or save the image.

Other types of files

You can either click Preview to look at these attachments (which is a fast way to view them, without opening any new programs), or click Scan and Save to Computer or save them online by clicking Save to Yahoo! Briefcase.

Why doesn't Google Inbox have download all attachments feature?

Google is a great company. As we  all know all the products from Google are for providing a good user experience with a great value. Same is the case with GMAIL. Gmail is most used e-mail sending service (if I am not wrong). Now the way Gmail works is pretty awesome if you ever observed with focus. If Gmail Inbox enables download all attachment feature then it might become a negative factor to their user experience strategies according to me, because there are many users who use notebooks which have lesser hard drive capacity and receive mails having attachment of  large sizes( around 5-8 GB as I have personally seen). So It will become a matter of frustration for them if they download those attachments directly to the notebook's hard drive. Now behind these negative side, let me talk about some of the positive, GMAIL has option for its users to download attachment directly to GOOGLE DRIVE or DROPBOX. I think that is pretty awesome feature we have. Thanks :-)

Cannot find Outbox in my yahoo email. Where is it located?

The "outbox'' is used to hold emails that are in limbo. Meaning----those neither sent nor deleted----usually due to some fault (like overloading). They're just waiting in line to go.

Yahoo doesn't have an "outbox".
About the closest thing to an outbox would be the Draft folder----not the same at all,---but still the closest.
The "sent" folder only holds emails that have been successfully sent.

How do i search and view photos attached to my emails?

In my yahoo mail account, i do not have the option that allows me to search for and view the photos/videos attached to my emails. I can see a "search shortcut" section just below the folders sections in email accounts of friends but my account does not seem to have this. When i try to search messages, it merely searches for text in the message and not for photos or images
