I Still Get Head Aches After I Do Some Thing Active

Headache still active after almost 2 months from a headbutt?

Guys, I got headbutt on the forehead by a new classmate two months ago during a fight, it hurt back then and I felt a slight headache for almost a week, then it went away for a week and it came back. Almost two months now with this, what do I do? My forehead kinda hurts from the left side (where I've been hit at)

Severe headache after eating?

you may have low blood volume. drink lots of water during the day and increae your salt intake and see if that helps. also check ure pulse rate when having these head aches. its rare but you could have sumthing calls pots (postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome) its rare but those head aches are a sign of that. also if you eat alot of junk and not alot of healthy foods like fruits and vegatables then you can have these problems too. but i would point my finger at low blood volume ussually i direct result of not drinking enough water. you should be drinkning about 2 liters of water a day. if your active or spend alot of time in hot weather. then make it 3 liters up to a gal. sounds like alot but once you start doing it you will quickly relize how fast your body uses it up.

Does being in my house too long give me headaches?

for some people too much sleep can be tiring... I try to get up early and be active. If I am still tired later on I take a nap but usually I find that being active gets me awake and keeps me going.
On a week end I find an afternoon nap is refreshing. Next week try getting up early and do some chores or even go outside and walk or jog. Put away the snacks and get some fresh fruit or healthy granola bars (note that some things that have the word "granola" are not good check the labels.
don. I am 78 and get moving early.

Why does coffee make me sleepy instead of active? I’m an 18 year old female and I’ve been drinking coffee since I was 13 or so. Does this mean I’m tolerant or something?

The caffeine in coffee works as a stimulant primarily by blocking a neuromodulator called adenosine. In a normal waking cycle, adenosine gradually accumulates at certain synapses in the brain and in doing so will contribute to increasing drowsiness. But caffeine acts as an adenosine antagonist, blocking the sites to which it binds and preventing it from working — the result is a feeling of increased alertness and energy which begins within a few minutes of consumption and continues for several hours. However, the body will tend to produce more adenosine to compensate for the fact that adenosine doesn't seem to be working under the influence of caffeine; this means that once the caffeine wears off, increased drowsiness is likely to result. This 'vicious cycle' is responsible for the addictive quality of caffeine, and withdrawal for a very heavy and regular caffeine user can be most unpleasant and even medically dangerous in some cases.I am aware of no clear-cut pharmacological reason that caffeine in and of itself should make a person feel sleepy rather than wakeful, but I can think of several murky possibilities:The coffee you are drinking may not be very "strong," and is perhaps weakly brewed with a low caffeine content. Try ordering an Americano with two shots of espresso and drinking it quickly on an empty stomach; if that makes you sleepy, I'd be concerned about your planet of origin!Your coffee may be heavily sweetened, and the drowsying effects of the associated sugar crash may be stronger than the opposite effects of the caffeine. There is some evidence that stimulants affect persons with ADD/ADHD much differently than others, though this distinction is mainly applied to a family of stimulant drugs which are dissimilar to caffeine, and your reaction to caffeine should not be taken as a marker for such disorders.Caffeine does seem to affect different people in different ways — but caffeine does not chemically induce drowsiness as a primary effect and would never be used in such a way by a physician, for example, so it is probable that something quite funny is going on if you find that even large doses of caffeine routinely make you sleepy.

Why do we get a headache when drinking cold water?

The trigeminal nerve, shown in yellow, conducts signals from dilating blood vessels in the palate to the brain, which interprets the pain as coming from the forehead.Short answer:Brain freeze is practically a rite of summer. It happens when you eat ice cream or gulp something ice cold too quickly. The scientific term is sphenopalatine ganglioneuralgia, but that's a mouthful. Brain freeze is your body's way of putting on the brakes, telling you to slow down and take it easy.Long answer:A cold-stimulus headache, also known as brain freeze, ice-cream headache, trigeminal headache[1] [2] or its given scientific name sphenopalatine ganglioneuralgia (meaning "pain of the sphenopalatine ganglion"), is a form of brief pain or headache commonly associated with consumption (particularly quick consumption) of cold beverages or foods such as ice cream and ice pops.It is caused by having something cold touch the roof of the mouth, and is believed to result from a nerve response causing rapid constriction and swelling of blood vessels[3] or a "referring" of pain from the roof of the mouth to the head.[4] [5] The rate of intake for cold foods has been studied as a contributing factor.[6] A cold-stimulus headache is distinct from dentin hypersensitivity, a type of pain that can occur under similar circumstances.Cats and other animals have been observed experiencing a similar reaction when presented with a similar stimulus.[7]The term ice-cream headache has been in use since at least January 31, 1937, contained in a journal entry by Rebecca Timbres published in the 1939 book We Didn't Ask Utopia: A Quaker Family in Soviet Russia.[8]Footnotes[1] https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc...[2] Ice cream evoked headaches (ICE-H) study: randomised trial of accelerated versus cautious ice cream eating regimen[3] What causes an ice cream headache?[4] Ice cream headaches[5] http://www.medterms.com/script/m...[6] The Dairy Education eBook Series[7] Do Cats Actually Get 'Brain Freeze' When They Eat Cold Treats?[8] We didn't ask Utopia; a Quaker family in soviet Russia
