I Think I Am Getting Fired .

I think i'm getting fired?

Just hold your head up and go to work.

If you get fired, it's okay to cry. If you get suspended, it's okay to cry. It means that you care about what people think of you and you care about your job. Yes, I understand that it's embarassing and you'll likely cry more because you're embarrassed - but this is a normal reaction. And it is NOT a bad thing for your boss to see that you care about your job.

There is probably nothing you can do to prepare for this talk. My only advice is to be polite and think about what you are going to say before you say it. Don't blurt out the first thing that pops into your head because you are emotional.

When you go to work EXPECT to get fired. Just put it in your mind that you will be getting fired and come to terms with that. (This is the worst case scenario, so if you are prepared for this then anything else that happens will be great.) If you get fired, you can apply for unemployment and begin applying for better jobs. It's not the end of the world. It just really sucks in the moment. But we've all been there, and we all move on to bigger and better things.

If he is rude to you, just don't take it personally. Unless he is someone you love, deeply admire or respect, why would you care what he thinks of you? Don't give that much power over you. Just say that you're really sorry you have disappointed him.

I think I'm getting fired. What do I do?

If you are an at-will employee, you can be fired or demoted on a whim, without warning, with no due process, for no reason at all, or even for a false reason with some exceptions i.e. discrimination - religion, race, gender, sexual orientation, disability (physical or mental), age, pregnancy etc. The flip side as an employee is you can also quit on a whim, without warning for no reason. If you belong to a union there are different rules and you should speak with your union representative

The major of companies have a Employee Policy & Procedures manual, which you should have receive a copy of, with basic rules i.e. absenteeism, lateness, vacation, sick days etc. Did you not receive a copy of this manual or some sort of company policy documentation at orientation or from your immediate manager? How long have you been employed at this company and the number of call in days? At the end of the day it is irrelavant if the company fires you for i.e. absenteeism specfically if you have not provided medical documentation i.e. doctor's notes for these illinesses.

Co-Worker
This is the most common situations in the workplace. Since the employer does not need a reason to fire you, the best way to deal with two employees that can't get along is to fire one or both of them. There is no duty to investigate, because it doesn't matter who was at fault. This is what makes the call so painful. If you were an employee that just wanted to get along with everyone, and when you encountered a jerk, and reported it to your manager in the hope that something could be done. But in doing so,you put yourself on the radar, or perhaps even forced the hand of the company. If you report that another employee has threatened you, or is bullying you, and the company does nothing, then the company might have huge exposure at a later date if that employee were to assault you. Best way to deal with the problem? Fire one or both of the employees that can't get along. Good Luck!

I think that’s very disheartening and disappointing for your Mom, and for you, too. Being fired is a humiliating experience. I don’t know why your Mom was fired. If she did something that was against company policy or if she was unable to get to work on time, etc. that could be a valuable learning experience for you. Unfortunately the people that hire you are not likely to cut you slack even if you have good reasons for your bad behavior. Ask Mom why this happened if she will share. If it was because of her age, that is even more difficult! We tend to value youth a lot in the job market and I think that’s a mistake. People like your Mom have many years of experience (whether on the job or not) that are valuable. Your Mom probably needs your support. You can help by letting her know you love her and need her and you think she is a valuable person even if some boss did not. She will need that support because it is often difficult for older people to feel valued. Sometimes they are not as likely to find another job as quickly as a younger person. She may be angry or depressed and this is normal. You do not say if she is the sole support of your family so I don’t know how big a problem this is for her and for you. This may be a stressful time for her and for you so I hope you can talk with her, share how you feel, and find a trusted friend or teacher if things get rough. Good luck!

I think i'm going to get fired?

So I have had my job for about a year now. I'm always good at my job & I make customers happy and do what I have to at work. I'm always early or on time, I don't call in sick, I take extra shift & I never missed a shift. In the last two weeks I made a mistake I had no control over & got written up for & I tried to tell my main manager I was not trained for this kind of situation & I didn't know I had to do a certain task while completing a return & this was the 1st time this has happened & I feel like she didn't listen to what I had to say. Two days later I show up to work & she asked a 2ed manager to take me to the office to be written up & I was told not to worry about it.
The week after she was at work & she didn't seem to happy. I made two small mistakes that a lot of the girls & people do at my work & she came over to me and yelled at me for it & put me down saying whats been going on? you have been making a lot of mistakes today. (I was not feeling well at work that day too) She then told me maybe the next shift I have I should spend it with her (over my back& by her side). I also asked a co-worker a question about a order & she put me down as well & told my manager which made it worse. I was told if I ever have questions then to ask. I don't feel conformable asking if i'm put down. people are on their phones at work & doing worse things.
It was one mistake b/c they never trained me
Second was one shift out of a year I made a few mistakes
I'm I going 2 be fired?

Sounds like a pretty sucky situation! Sorry about that.I never really liked the idea of making friends at work. Its kinda like family you don’t really have a choice and you have to pretend to be nice because you have to see these people every single day.But then, there is difference in being friendly and being friends. You don’t have to be friends with people to be nice and courteous to your co-workers. I wonder why they don’t speak with you.Its not normal for people not to say hello back. Sounds pretty rude. From experience its usually not personal but a reflection of how crappy the overall environment is. Is the management just as sucky?Try to get by and collect your paycheck, but the best advice is to try to get another job.

Am I getting fired?

So I got a really bad cold sore my whole lip swell and blisters where very noticeable. I called out of work and got a doctors for 3 days and I was to return Saturday June 2nd. I went back to work on the 2nd and after about an hour my crusty top lip blisters and all burts. I was bleeding and leaking all over the place. I was highly contagious and embarrassed so I spoke to my assistant manager and asked if I could please go home. She told me if I leave I will be terminated because of the points I accumulated from being absent I said ok and went home. Tuesday the 5th I receive a call from hr saying im on the schedule for Thursday the 15th and that they had me out as sick but hadn't heard from me so she was checking in. She also said to bring a new doctors note(I have a note from 5/31/17-6/15/17) saying I can come back on the 15th. She didn't know anything about my assistant manager firing me. Is this a set up to officially fire me? If so why would they wait so long to contact me and ask for a doctor's note.

If you believe you have not recourse, no option to talk to your supervisor and identify reasons why your performance is not meeting the employers requirements then your best option is to continue to perform at your professional best while preparing for your own job search. Begin to gather information, references, network contact names and look into your options for receiving outplacement - re-employment support as part of your layoff. If you are not being fired for cause, you could consider speaking to your supervisor and asking if he/she has any suggestions for how you could improve your professional performance. You do not need to indicate your suspicion about your pending termination, you can simply say you sense that your performance is no longer meeting their needs and wondered if you can be provided with suggestions for improvement. Asking questions that demonstrate your awareness and interest in changing may demonstrate professional growth that can be useful for the future, including a reference. If you are aware of reasons your performance is suffering, perhaps a result of a disability which can include personal struggles, physical and emotional concerns or more then it may be worth considering addressing these with HR. Of course it is your right to keep this information confidential, but if you fear you are losing your job as a result of these contributing factors it may be time to speak up and address them. If you believe the reason for your termination is not job performance but something else such as personality conflict than it may be useful to look into what you are doing or could do differently to improve the situation today or in the future. Awareness is such an important component of moving forward. Try to pinpoint what went wrong. If you believe the problem is a toxic work environment, a skills mismatch, or something else the only way to manage it for the future is to understand it first and make changes next. It may help to find a career professional to work with directly to help you assess the situation with depth and awareness for moving forward, if not in your current place of employment then as you move into the next phase of your career.

Help! I'm think I'm seeing signs of me getting fired?

Oh yes, what they are doing is a preliminary investigation before they fire you. This is a time where they cut the employee off and review what they are going to tell you when they call you into the "meeting". They are sending you away and having the other employee cover for your mistakes.

I honestly think you best put in your two weeks notice and resign now. It's going to be easier to explain to the next interviewer why you left than why you were fired. They also won't give you a good recommendation if you are fired. At least if you resign they can say "you realized that you were not ideal and removed yourself from the situation"

Do you think I am about to get fired?

(I don't expect anyone to read all this, but here goes.) well I just got a job 2 months ago at taco bell, ( I'm still in high school don't be mean.) and I've already had 3 incidents. fist one, I was a half hour late because they set up my schedule weird and I didn't realize I was supposed to be in there at a certain time, and they called asking where i was, so i pretty much dropped everything and rushed to work. about 2 weeks later (a few days ago. ) my mom was about to take me to work and her car wouldn't start, so i called to let them know i would be late,(by a half hour) and i ran to work (i got there ten minutes late actually, it didn't take as long as I thought it would..) and today I had to call out , I actually had to. I had no choice. I am a type one diabetic and this morning i woke up and my blood sugar was almost 600 and I was very sick.( I was dropping this stuff called ketones in my urine and it basicly makes my blood acidic.) they didn't say I was fired, but later my boss texted me and asked what was going on and after i explained he was very blunt and just said "ok." and nothing else.
I'm very worried that since I haven't made a good impression these first 2 months that they are going to second guess me and fire me. I don't really talk much when I'm working, I just work and every one else seems so cool with each other and they talk, and sometimes it seems like I'm invisible.
