I Think Ive Got An Ear Infection

How to get rid of an ear infection?

I haven't had an ear infection in a while, and this makes me hear funny. It's in my left ear and I don't know what to do about it. I've gone to the doctor and gotten ear drops, but the pain is only weakened slightly, nd I still cannot hear properly. Any advice on a faster remedy, or tips in helping the healing process. Thanks

Can you pass out from an ear infection?

I've had an ear infection for quite a while now, and I'm stubborn, haven't been using the ear drops my doctor gave me. So today, All of a sudden my right ear [The one that is infected] went completly def and I got REALLY light headed like I was going to pass out.

I rushed to the living room and called my step dad to come home, I THOUGHT that he would take me to the ER to get me checked out, but him and my mom won't. They don't think anything is wrong with me.

My right ear tried to go def as well and my vision got all trippy.

This wasn't a panic attack, I have Anxiety and have conquered my Panic Attacks, so I can tell the difference.

Can you pass out from having an ear infection? And if not, what made me feel like I was going to?

How painful are ear infections?????!!!!!!!!!!!!! PLEASE ANSWER!!?

i think that ear infections are worse then teeth pain. they hurt really bad. i had one a few weeks ago and it hurt so bad. they cave me pain medicine. so maybe ask the doctor if he can have pain medication. and i put heat on my ears not ice. the heat made them feel a little better. and ice cream makes you feel better to. just try to have him sleep. i am so sorry that is so painful•

How to help dizziness from ear infection...?

I've got an ear infection and the fluid in my left ear is making me so dizzy that it's hard to function unless I'm sitting down. When I get up it's terrible. I'm on antibiotics for it but it's not helping the dizziness. I took 2 dramamine as well and that's not helping either. Are there are home remedies or over the counter medications I can take to make this go away or atleast help it somewhat? I feel like everything around me is spinning and like I'm going to throw up at a moment's notice. Any advice would be much appreciated.. thanks

I think I have an ear infection and I am going to a concert on Friday. Should I go?

to be honest i wouldnt go, but it does all depends how painful the earache is though because going to a concert will make it considerably worse.
I saw MCR on sunday and i couldnt hear out of one ear afterwards and my ears were fine before going!
But if you are dead set on going then i think you should be fine if you take some pain killers and dont get too much into the crowd so your being jostled around every single moment.
just be warned it will be more painful if you go the few days afterwards.

for a first concert that would be a mighty good one! :) they were amazing.

My child never got ear infection, is this normal?

my oldest never had ear infections, never had any serious illness until he was a preschooler. My second baby had ear infections, colds, allergies, you name it. Same diet, same living situation, just different immune systems.

I've had an ear infection for seven months, is this normal?

No infection should last for seven months.Point 2: the concept of ear infection is nonspecific. There are infections of the ear canal skin which are extremely painful and itch. They will not normally respond to oral antibiotics. There are infections of the eardrum (myringitis), again, quite different. There are middle ear infections where pus builds up behind the eardrum causing it to bulge; this may respond to oral antibiotics. There are middle ear infection with perforated eardrum where the primary problem is of persistent drainage from the ear with resulting odour and itching. There is cholesteatoma which is a growth deep withing the ear which causes progressive destruction: the cholesteatoma is often secondarily infected. A cholesteatoma requires mastoidectomy usually to give a safe dry ear.The problem for you is that there is nothing which you can do to determine the type of infection and each type requires a completely different mode of treatment. Some infections are bacterial, others are fungal. The treatment of each is very different.Ultimately, you need to see somebody who has the knowledge and equipment to make a proper diagnosis and treatment recommendation. After 7 months, this is an ENT specialist and only an ENT specialist. I don’t mean to offend primary care practitioners but I think that most would agree.

I have around 4 ear infections a month. I've been to every ENT in my area and tried every medicine they suggested, but nothing seems to keep the infections away. I'm in so much pain, what should I do?

OK, as much as I dislike people who answer medical questions when they have no knowledge about medicine…here I go. Firstly your question does not make sense. 4 ear infections a month would mean one every week. It takes longer than a week to permanently clear up an ear infection which makes me think that whatever medication you are taking is not (1) being taken long enough or (2) is the wrong medication. I have no idea where you live, so I can’t judge the quality of your Dr’s….but having suffered from ear infections myself I do know that some doctors tend to treat an infection automatically as bacterial. Please take what you read here with a grain of salt, I could be very wrong, but if I was in your shoes I’d ask for the infection to be identified.. It could well be a fungal infection, or a combination of fungal and bacterial. (a fungal infection tends to itch as well as hurt, while a bacterial is mostly without the itching) Either way, get a scraping, get it identified and then get the correct treatment based on the results….and give the treatment time. All the best of luck and please, once again, let me stress that you need a doctor, not Quora.
