Should I take dextroamphetamine (adderall) Medication although its about a year expired?
Adderall (amphetamine/dextroamphetamine), not the same as JUST dextroamphetamine, is safe to take after the expiration date, like most drugs are. Some drugs, especially antibiotics and nitroglycerin become weak and tetracycline class antibiotics become toxic. Why do you need to take the Adderall if you have not taken it for about 1yr? Do you have enough for the next two weeks before you see your doctor? Simply put yes it is safe to take the Adderall however if you are taking it for any reason except for a medical problem you might reconsider. And for the record amphetamine are not narcotics under national or international law, nor are amphetamines scientifically considered narcotics.
Burning feeling in throat after taking medicine?
I've been taking Zoloft for years with no problems. But, last night I took my usual 1 and 1/2 tablets and felt it get stuck in my throat. It seemed to pass, but about five minutes later I started to feel a severe burning sensation in the part of my throat where it got stuck. It's not a coated pill. I drank lots of water and even ate a slice of bread, hoping to make the pill residue wash down. It continued to burn in that area, and even made my eye water and ear hurt. Finally, I fell asleep, but this morning and all day today, it has hurt to swallow, but just in that one spot. Has anyone else been irritated so severely like that by a pill? When will it heal? I wonder exactly what happened? Did it burn my throat? Did it dehydrate that spot in my throat?
Will St. John's Wort interfere with Dexamphetamine?
After a bad reaction to Zoloft, my doctor recently had me on Bupropion with Dexamphetamine. The combination was terrible, damn near had a heart attack. Turns out the Bupropion was blocking dopamine release by Dexamphetamine and while enhancing its noradrenalin effects. Now we both agreed on trying St. John’s Wort, something natural and non-synthetic. However, I understand it works on the same chemicals as Dexamphetamine, but want to know if it will interfere with the way Dexamphetamine works on its own, because it’s doing a good job, but not so much with anxiety. My doctor said no, but that’s what he said last time, so some confirmation from other on this one would be good. I hope someone out there knows, but please don’t guess. Thank you!
What exactly are "dexies"? (illegal drug)?
Dexies is a slang name for dextroamphetamine brand name Dexedrine. Dexedrine is a Federally controlled schedule II drug in the United States indicating that it has a high potential for abuse yet also has accepted medical used. Dexedrine is approved to treat ADHD and narcolepsy. It is also used for certain other psychiatric/neurological conditions. Amphetamines were once widely used for weight loss and as a "pep pill" in addition to use of Dexedrine for euphoria. Dexedrine is used for people with severe forms of hypersomnia and/or excessive daytime sleepiness (EDS) although it is mostly only prescribed for narcolepsy and other primary hypersomnias. Amphetamine use for weight loss or to help keep a person (not including people with a sleeping disorder) awake is generally not accepted anymore.
I am prescribed dexamphetamine, can I take my medication with me to Bali?
It's legalized speed, which you may run into problems with here. Even the guys at customs may not really know if it's legal or not. Your best bet is to call the Indonesian embassy in your own country. Better yet, visit them. If they say it's legal get it in writing from them, signed and stamped. Take that letter with you in case the customs guys try and get some lunch money from you. Another option is to make sure you have a doctor's letter, literally signed and stamped, which explains that your doctor has prescribed this for you and you must have it. And make sure that it is in the original prescription bottle with the same doctor's name on it. Worse comes to worse (without those letters), slip them a quick Rp.100.000 bill. They'll more than likely forget they saw it.
