I Took In A Lot Of Sea Water Form Being To Far Out At The Beach Swimming Feeling Weak And Sick

Feel SO sick after drinking salt water?

Lemme just say... salt is REAAAAALLY bad for you in excessive amounts. You'll feel bloated 'cos you drank loads of water with nothing else, and that fills up your stomach. I think you might wanna try eating bread, it might help with the dizziness and also some sleep! Salt water is used to disinfect your mouth and throat when you have an infection and such so i can think of a few reasons why you'll feel sick... also the fact that when people want to vomit they drink lots of water (and salt with it) because the stomach rejects it cos it can't cope. You'll recover a lot fasterr if you ACTUALLY vomit because you'll help the salt get outta your system. You'll still get better if you don't vomit, but it will take longer.

What does seasickness feel like?

Oh, I went on one of those whale watching boats once and it was rocking pretty bad. One guy threw up all over the place, and that caused a chain reaction of pukers.

Seasickness just makes you feel bad/weak, makes your stomach upset and will cause a "lump" in your throat. If it gets bad enough, that lump will refuse to stay in your throat and you'll need a barf bag.

I'm fortunate; I've never been sick on the ocean, but I've been sick every single time I've gone out on the Great Lakes. The pills work pretty good. Just pop a Dramamine or some meclizine an hour before you go out. They're good pills and they help a whole lot. If you get sick, just be sure you have a barf bag at the ready and use it. Nobody will think twice about you if you use the bag, but they're going to be irritated if you ruin the deck of the boat. Have fun though; whales are cool.

Oddysey Literature problems!!!! 10 points best answer!?

"Homeric simile, also called epic simile, is a detailed comparison in the form of a simile that is many lines in length. The word "Homeric" is based on the Greek author Homer, who composed the two famous Greek epics, the Iliad and the Odyssey. Many authors continue to use this type of simile in their writings." - From Wikipedia.

"What a dear welcome thing life seems to children
whose father, in the extremity, recovers
after some weakening and malignant illness:
his pangs are gone, the gods have delivered him.
So dear and welcome to Odysseus
the sight of land, of woodland, on that morning."

The above section is an extended simile. Essentially Homer is comparing the relief Odysseus feels upon seeing land to the relief a child would feel when his long ill father recovers. See how that works?

What does drowning feel like?

I have, and its NOT pleasant. Have you ever gotten the feeling of you lungs collapsing in a hot shower? If not,ill explain it. First, youre holding our breath but then you cant do that anymore so water starts to fill your lungs ( kindof like when people say " water went down the wrong pipe" , and it just keeps going, eventually you pass out due to lack of oxygen.

What does drowning feel like?

Speaking of drowning, you wanna know what it
feels like huh? I guess you wouldnt understand it unless
you drown yourself... it's pretty unique feeling,

as to my stories, I nearly drowned 3 times,
oh yes, 3 times, and in all 3 of them... I barely
managed to survive. When you drown, you can't
think.. and the air becomes the first and the last thing
you can think of and long for..

When I was drowning in the ocean...(like 2 years ago and
that's my most recent drowing experience)
all I ever did was going up for the air... anything else than that
were all luxury for me at that moment..

you might think you can yell for a help, then the baywatch guys
would come and get you soon..., but actually it's not that easy. When you open your mouth, you just gulp water instead...
I think genereally when you drown, you just gulp water.
Some people may not, but I'm talking about my case..
Anyhow it's a painful thing you wouldnt know..

Getting back to my ordeal, i kept struggling and barely
staying afloat... but that coudn't save me long.. for I
almost used up all of my strength left..
From some point.. i just sank and sank.. then it felt like
i was about to dream a dream.. something like that.
I'm not talking about 'the light' though.. I was just passing out.
I think I was kinda half-drowned then..
and later, luckly I got saved by a lifeguard guy just right before
I virtually get drowned.. If they were late even for 1 minute, I say,
I actually might have drowned.. And I wouldn't be here..
Kinda scary thing.

It's a hard one to understand.. I dont feel satisfied even with my
own explanations.. You'd better drown yourself in order to find out
what it exactly feels like! But the point is this ; it's not fun.

Why am I afraid of the deep ocean but not the beach?

Does it has something to do with a horrible experience of yours or with someone's?
Whether an awareness of the threat that goes behind that possible disaster or accidents that makes you anxious of the deep ocean?
Or having this somewhat strangely inexplicable past life regressions,
Then may be a possible psychological phobia of deep waters..
I guess if you really want to dig on the real reason to be able to deal with it. It will be better to consult that certain disturbances to a good psychologist. So you may see clear whatever comes up with the evaluation. Whether it is serious or not. Rather knowing on just how to get along with it.

Can you get pneumonia from water accidently going down the wrong pipe?

Yes, but chances are it will clear itself on its own. My son has swallowing disorders, and he inhales liquids. Recently, he was kept overnight at the hospital because they saw some haziness in his lungs from inhaling liquid and choking/coughing, and he was observed to see it would clear. If it stayed too long, he would develop pneumonia. Thankfully, it cleared.
I inhale water a lot too. Usually it clears, if it's only a small amount.

EMERGENCY ASAP is my hermit crab sick?

well it sounds like you are making the effort to care for them properly ... i am concerned about your comment about the humidity ... the temp and humidity being off in the tank is a major cause of limbs being lost ... if the tank is not maintained at 80 degrees temperature and 80 degrees humidity, you are killing them slowly ... i am not "furious" about your humidity but you should be furious you have not taken the importance of humidity seriously ... hermit crabs breathe through modified gills, like a fish does ... without humidity or if the humidity drops below 70 degrees, again the crab is slowly and painfully suffocating ... and a crab burying constantly could be cold and trying to warm up ... what is the temp of your tank ??? do you have an undertank heater because not only does the tank need to be warm, but the substrate also needs to be warm ... they should be in a glass tank with a solid lid ... also, you said you should feed fresh food more often ... were you aware that many commercial hermit crab foods (the popular ones) actually contain preservatives that will kill hermit crabs over time ... the crabs should get fresh food daily and a variety including meat ... and plain lettuce is not a good choice to feed ... it is nutritionally null ... and what salt are you using to make salt water ??? salt made for hermit crabs should be avoided as they do not create salt water ... and if that is what you have been using, the crabs have never had access to salt ... also the water dechlorinator, it must be for fish and not for hermit crabs ... and what about the substrate ??? is the substrate either coconut fibre or play sand or a combination of both ??? is it damp constantly ??? if you have any other substrate, including hermit crab coloured sand or calci-sand or gravel, that is the wrong and should be changed to a correct substrate ... and do the crabs have at least 6 shells they can change into (3 shells per crab) ??? if i were you i would check to make sure the crabitat is exactly what the crabs need ... you can also google land hermit crab care to help you ...
