I Want 2dye My Hair Purple

Why do older women dye their hair purple?

Blue hair/Purple Hair

Elderly women with greying hair sometimes tint their hair blue to counteract the yellow hue of aging hair (see: Blue rinse), thus leading to the use of the term "blue-haired old ladies" or just "blue hairs" to denote the elderly.

A blue rinse is a dilute hair dye used to reduce the yellowed (or translucent, showing scalp colour) appearance of greying hair on older women. The blue rinse supposedly makes yellow-white hair appear blue-white, but an inexpertly applied blue rinse will leave a distinctly unnatural tinge behind.

The phrase entered popular culture as a term for elderly women, the blue rinse brigade. An alternative term is "blue hair." It has declined in popularity with the increasing popularity of home dyeing, the reduced prevalence of smoking (which yellows the hair) and with society's more relaxed attitude to aging. It was caricatured as part of the character of Mrs Slocombe in the British sitcom Are You Being Served?

How can I dye my hair purple from Black hair?

Hello! It’s quite a simple process actually. But you should be careful with bleach and should get it done professionally. But, if you want to do it at home follow these steps. First clean your hair very well. Dry it then wear a junky shirt and surround yourself with towels on the ground. Bleach your hair with hair bleach until it turns a platinum blonde(This may take up to 4 sessions). Clean your hair again, dry, then apply the purple dye as the directions say. In the end it should look something like the pictures below. Enjoy your new hair and wear it confidently!

I want get my hair dyed blue, how much will that cost?

Lara I Lord is completely correct.Any hairstylist worth their salt won’t tell you how much it’ll cost before seeing your hair and discussing exactly what you want. They might give you a range, but even that can drastically change once they see what they’re working with. There are so many factors when it comes to dying hair, especially when it comes to fashion colors.Hair length, texture, and density can drastically change price. Someone with hair down to their waist isn’t going to pay the same price as someone with a pixie cut, and someone with super thick hair isn’t going to pay the same as someone with much finer, thinner hair, simply because there’s more hair to deal with, which means more product and more time. Hair color is also a factor, both the natural color and whether or not it’s been dyed (and what color it’s been dyed). Of course the darker the hair, the more likely it is that you’ll need to lighten the hair more than once to get it light enough to take the fashion color properly, and that likelihood goes up if it’s dyed a dark color instead of naturally a dark color. Whether you’ve used box dye or got it done professionally can also make a difference, as darker box dyes often won’t lift out of hair nearly as easily as professional color. That means more product, multiple lightening sessions, and more time. Even the shade of blue can change the price, since sometimes darker blues can be put over a darker blonde and still take well, while brighter and/or lighter blues need to have very light blonde, almost platinum, to take properly without tinting green. You really do get what you pay for. Lara was absolutely right that you should call around and ask for someone who is specifically trained or who specializes in fashion colors. Make sure you ask for a consultation before setting up the appointment so you can talk to the stylist and make sure that y’all are on the same page, and go over pricing. As long as you are reasonable and have a reasonable budget, or are willing to compromise, a good stylist should be able to work with you to help you get what you want, or at least get you as close as possible. Or they should tell you up front that it isn’t possible, either at all or within that budget. Typically, salons will offer complimentary consultations, so there’s nothing to lose!Good luck!

Can i dyed mi hair im 25 weeks pregnant?

Yes its perfectly fine. There is no reason not to do it. The usual reason for doctors to say not to do it is because of the smell. It can cause some mommies to get nauseated and puke. Ive dyed my hair or have gotten foils/ highlights in my hair in all four of my pregnancies.. and none of them have ever been affected. I asked my doctor before I did it, and he gave me the green light.

How much does it cost to dye your hair?

How much would it cost to dye your hair and bleach it at a salon? I want to dye my dark brown hair pastel pink and purple but my mom said that it would cost like $200 but I want to know how much it typically costs to dye and bleach your hair.

How would i add an allover purple tint to my black hair?

If your just looking for a tint and not a complete "dye". I would go to your local beauty supply store, try sally's. They have excellent choices of demi permanent or semi permanet hair color in all sorts of beautiful colors. I have seen violet myself. Te good thing about the semi-permanent is, they are going to give you the affect i believe your trying to achieve. You can apply it all over and your hair will have the effect of a tint, well you can see the color in the sun. I've tried like a burgundy myself, and it turned out beautiful. It's very simple to use, but it will stain so make sure you protect your hands and your hairline. Best of luck to ya!

How can I convince my mom to let me dye my hair?

When my 7 year old asked me if she could dye a streak of her hair, I laughed and said “Of course not.” It was said in a definitive tone with no wiggle room. I wasn’t even going to consider letting her dye her hair. And yet, just 2 weeks later, I brought her to a salon and helped her dye a streak of her hair. What changed? I’m still not completely sure how she got me to change my mind - but she did. Let me try to pick apart what she did during those 2 weeks. She reasoned with me. There was no whining, no complaining, no yelling or tantrums. But she wanted me to explain my reasons for saying “no” - and I had a hard time coming up with good reasons. We talked about hair dyeing as a slippery slope toward tattoos, piercings, etc. - but she was laughing out loud when I was saying this, and I quickly realized how ridiculous I was being. She reassured me that she had zero interest in tattoos, piercings, or any of the other things I mentioned - she only wanted to dye a small streak of her hair. She had impeccable timing. She repeated her request multiple times over several days, but only when I was in a good mood and feeling good about my parenting skills. She asked about dying her hair after she had taken all her medications without complaint, or after she had done all her homework. She told me that she would pay for it out of her allowance, signaling to me that this was important to her.She suggested that we look at pictures of kids online with streaks of dye in their hair, so that she could show me what it would look like. And the pictures all looked so reasonable - the kids we saw looked like good kids. When we were having a snack at a cafe across the street from our local salon, she persuaded me to stop in briefly, not to get a streak, but just to talk to the people there about what it would entail. I admit I was surprised at how easy, quick, and cheap it would be - and how common it is these days for kids to get streaks of dye in their hair. And finally, when I said that we could do a streak, but ONLY if it was with temporary dye and no bleaching - she immediately agreed. I also insisted that she wait another full week, so that she would be completely sure that this is what she wanted. The next weekend, I took her to get two streaks of red dye in her hair.

How to dye black hair (naturally blonde) a mellow purple?

Last Halloween, I dyed my natural medium-blonde hair black, and have kept it that way since. Now, I'm wanting to dye it purple...but not really bright - more of a grayish/silvery purple. Sample colors here:
http://i180.photobucket.com/albums/x213/rainbowdragonmage/TMoHS/color.jpg I'd like to get it somewhere in that ball park.

I'm not in any rush, so a step-by-step method that is gentle on my hair would be preferred, rather than a damaging immediate solution.

Yes, I want it permanent or semi-permanent.
No, I don't really care if my hair turns freaky colors in the process, as long as I get the desired result.

Thanks for your time. ^-^
