I Want Help For Preparation Of Iit 2016

How should I prepare for the IIT JAM in 2016? Should I take coaching or self-study?

I think in my point of view you should take coaching as it will provide you good grab on the concepts despite you studied them well and also help you  to analyze where you stand. The best of coaching is that you can learn from your batchmates. But beware never put yourself in the trap of time mismanagement like whatsapp group ( thinking it helps in topics discussion, my personal experience says we do everything except topic discussion XD)....Best of luckRegardsAtul Verma

I am slow in my preparation for IIT JEE 2016. How to be more efficient?

Thanks for the A2A.Well, I would say, first refer to my answer on Rashish Shingi's answer to Is it possible to crack the JEE Mains and Advanced 2016 if I start preparing now? What is a perfect daily time table so that I'll be able crack both JEE mains and Advance 2016 with an AIR below 500? You can increase your efficiency by following a timetable. Try to read on a table keeping a notebook alongside.Actually, the answer below by Anonymous seems legit. You should not waste your time here by asking such open-ended questions which you yourself know has no particular answer.Best of Luck !!!

I am preparing for IIT JEE 2016, and also want to prepare for IOI. How should I go about preparing for IOI and how much time should be dedicated for its preparation?

Preparing for 2 things will not lead you to anywhere. Find out your aim in what you are actually interested in. JEE requires at least 6 hrs. a day of self study. But if you really love coding than go for IOI.

I am in class 11 and I want to prepare for IIT-JEE and my half year is wasted. I want to start my preparation from october (2016). How do I start?

It doesn’t matter how much time you already wasted, all that matters is how you utilize time that is remaining. To avoid further distraction find out the major reason behind your poor performance.Procrastination - you like to delay things for infinite time (Only study related)External factors(Friends, GF/BF, family members, relatives who keeps you distracted)Whatever reason it is, just rule it out.It might be a tough decision but it will help you further. You know your priority & importance of career.I have done my Ph.D & I can tell you that your career is utmost important.Everyone changes & move forward, you have to do the same in your life.Don’t stop for anything. If you have a habit of delaying studies. Create a plan & follow it for 3 days. After these three days, if you succeed to stick the plan. Reward yourself with something you like.Otherwise make another 3 days target- ONE LEVEL HARDER…And this time, deprive yourself from Mobile Phone & internet.Do not use these for three days & focus on studies. If completed the task successfully then you can get your phone back.Best way to achieve that : Put the phone in Flight mode & give it to your parents.Trust me they won’t give it back to you, until you complete your lesson(Best way)Don’t pamper yourself with 1 hour window of using phone. No means No.The more you sweat in practice, the less you bleed in battle.

What's the best way to prepare for IIT-JEE (2016) at home?

Its a bold move but don't worry you aren't the only one. IIT Delhi released a stat a year or two ago which said 48% of its students that year cracked the JEE without going to a coaching institution. Anyway, coming down to the ideal steps:Make sure you attend school very seriously and that your concepts are clear at a basic level. This will also help you in your board exams which forms a crucial part of JEE Mains as you know.Subscribe to some sort of study material from a good coaching institute like Resonance/FIITJEE/Bansal Classes. This will help you in understanding the quality of questions asked in competitive examinations.Avail to a test series from a similar institution or various other online sites like Toppr, Embibe etc..Make sure you solve your doubts on a daily basis without fail. This is super important because if you don't understand something and you let it prevail, you will not understand the follow up concepts. For this you can either ask your school teachers or use an app like HashLearn Now-Private Tutoring - Android Apps on Google Play where you can get your doubts solved instantly by IITians and BITSians who have cracked it.Hope this helps. Wish you luck.

I want to start preparing for IIT JEE 2016. I want to do self study. And I want to take some crash course in the end. What are the do's and don't's to crack JEE Advanced?

Firstly, make a commitment to yourself and set a target. Before you decide to do self study, make sure that you are 100% confident in your abilities to discipline yourself and work hard for the next two years. It's not enough to work hard, you also have to be highly organized, and cover all parts of the syllabus. This is not to say that you CANT make it with self study, just that you need to be organized and disciplined. In case you are sure, join up to two correspondence courses. Do them religiously! The only trouble you are likely to run into here is a lack of ways to clear doubts- although some correspondence courses offer doubt clearing sessions. The Test Series offered by them are also good practice. If, on the other hand, you are unsure that your commitment can stand strong for two years, take tuition. What tuition really gives you is a regular framework, assignments etc. which ensure that you keep working towards the target.Make sure that you join those that focus on IITs. Even here the most important this is to remember the commitment you made to yourself and not feel complacent just because your tuition is good. Ultimately it is your efforts that will determine the result. The crash course stuff is just fast revision, I wouldn't really recommend it. By that stage, your preparation of all topics should be complete and you should be practicing for the exam. Rather more useful would be to take model tests at that time. Finally, keep researching! Talk to people with knowledge. Have a good idea which branch you prefer.

I am a final year student and want to crack IIT JAM physics 2016. With a few months left and a lots of study pressure, what do I need to do to crack it?

A2AAs far as I know, the current pattern is computer based and only objective type questions are asked (if I'm wrong, please let me know through comments.). Since you don't have much time left, I can suggest that :Get previous years solved papers. Solve them. Repeat the above two steps for each paper. Why this works and why it should work ? I've some anecdotes to share. Here we go:1. I recently sat for Physics GRE. Secured 810/990. That's not a stellar score if you're aiming for top programs in United States for PhD in Physics. But it is still pretty decent for Engineering programs (I suppose!). How I really prepared ? Because ETS never releases Physics GRE papers, we had to prepare only through 5 papers officially released by ETS as samples. They were pretty hard than the difficulty level I get to see on actual exam. And trust me, even if I was looking at solutions, I wasn't able to reproduce them at a later date. I couldn't even finish properly 5 papers (each with 100 questions) perfectly. And yes, there was a time constraint too, 1.7 min for each questions. However, on the day of exam, I found many of the questions related directly or indirectly to the problems I did in 5 papers. After all, the basic physics won't change and in order to understand solutions, you need to know what's really going on. I actually did reverse engineering in my preparation. Instead of cramming whole syllabus, I first solved problems / looked at solutions and then went on to refer background knowledge if required. 2. This is what I did for my IIT JAM preparation too. I just did past papers, identified my weak areas, and then did those problems again. Moral: Instead of doing tons of problems, do a few problems tons of time. And I'm not at all talking about put-the-formula-get-the-answer type problems. In addition to that, you can keep noting down somewhere things you may want to remember on the day of exam to avoid silly mistakes, which you might be making right now while practicing at home. Practice doesn't makes you perfect but close to perfect. So just grab a book/bundle of previous year papers, and do it again and again. I believe, that should help.
