I Want To Buy A Car Like I Honestly Need One

Is buying a new car a waste of money?

Thinking of the amount im going to loose in 5 years time makes me think twice before buying my new car. Currently im using my dad car its free but i wanted to own something i love

Does he just not want me to have a new(er) car?

Honestly I feel like my husband just wants to keep me down. I'm in the market for a newer car since the last one I bought was a POS. I knew it at the time but still bought it anyway against his wishes. It was a 2003 Mazda Tribute and I financed it for $11k. My husband said I could have bought it outright for $2000. Anyway it was/is riddled with problems and I'm trying to get rid of it before May when it has to be inspected again. I don't want to put the money into it to get it to pass. Well, I went back to the car lot I got it from because the guy said he felt bad about selling me that car. I am now test driving a 2009 Nissan Murano and when I told my husband the financials he nearly hit the roof again. The deal they are giving me is $330 a month for 52 months. He calculated that at a little more than $17K. Again, he's not happy with that deal. I like this car because it has low miles and is fully loaded but he said that I can get the same car for less than $7000. Does he just not want me to have a newer car? Now he's saying that if I get this car don't ask him to do anything for it since I again won't listen to him.

How much should I pay per month for a used car?

best advice i can possibly give you is of course work more! i am 16 as well i already have a car.. but i only payed 2000 for it and its a piece.. lol. but it gets me from point A to point B. i work 2 jobs at least 30 hours a week at each.. i am saving up for a new car to do a monthly payment.. best advice get another job and work your butt off and get that money. and of course.. you have to have a good amount of money saved up for a down payment then do monthly payments.(BTW... most downpayments are about 1000 or 2000) i would definatly go for the 120/month car! dont be stupid and try to get a 325/month car... its not worth it! i know you may like it.. but honestly....your 16... your not gonna have a luxurious car.. nor do you want one... trust me get the cheaper one! youll be better off in the long run!

How do you buy a car out of state and have it shipped to you?

I've heard many horror stories about car shippers. The best advice I have is don't go cheap. Some of them use open trailers and your car gets pelted with sand or whatnot the whole way across the company. When I bought my car from a private seller back east I used the same shipper I saw bringing collectible Ferraris and such to the exotic store across from Pixar. It's Intercity Lines. They are not the cheapest, but your car will be lovingly wrapped and carried inside a trailer by people who know what they're doing. They also provided the escrow service for me: They handed the check to the seller when they picked up the car. And, honestly, it wasn't much more expensive than it would have been for me to fly out and drive the car back, except that I saved thousands of miles on the car and close to a week of my time. Worth it.The only other trick was arranging for a local (to the seller) dealership to do a pre-purchase inspection on the car. Never buy a used car without one.

Will another car company buy my JD Byrider contract if I want a new car?

As long as the numbers are "in line", you can trade in any time before the contract ends. The dealer will offer you a trade-in price on your car, and if you have inequity ("upside-down"), you pay the difference. If you owe less than what the car is worth, the balance is credited toward the new vehicle.

However, JD Byrider isn't known for selling vehicles at "value" prices... so, you are probably upside-down. You need to find out how much, then be prepared to put cash down toward the deal. Lenders will not finance overallowances for folks with marginal credit. For example... let's say you're upside-down by $2000, and the new car costs $15K. You then have to go ask the bank to loan you $17K on a $15K car... which won't happen.

Naturally, of course, this will all depend on your credit... before you try your luck at a dealer, go try your local bank or credit union first. Get pre-approved, THEN go shopping.
