I Was Asked To Make A Cheer For A Team But I Dont Know How To Make A Cheer. Is This Good Help

What are some good reasons to join the cheerleading team ?

I have been a cheerleader for 6 years so I know that it gives you great confidence, and self esteem! Also its a great way to practice your leadership skills. But if you make the squad know that cheerleading is not a joke. Also realize it not just Rah Rah Rah anymore. I hope you make the squad!!

How to make the cheer team with NO EXPERIENCE?!?

Watch the motions carefully as they teach you the dances and cheers. Since you have no experience, you won't know the motions. I would actually recommend looking up cheer motions. Make sure when you're dancing and cheering that you know the material and don't watch anyone else to see what to do next or to see if you're doing it right. Motions need to be sharp and in the correct place. Always smile and have a good attitude. During cheers, be loud and make sure that you're not singing the cheer. They will teach you the jumps (most likely a toe touch), but I would recommend googling that too so that it looks good. Don't over stretch before your try out. You don't need to have your splits, but they are nice to have! Good luck!

I'm a flyer for my school's cheer team? Should I buy a stunt stand to practice with when no one is around?

I assume you mean this kind of stunt stand:My cheer gym has this kind of stunt stands and as an ex-level 5 flyer, I did not find these helpful at all. They do not give you the illusion of standing in a real stunt as they say it will do. The way the pink blocks are shaped is because of giving the flyer the feeling of having hands holding their feet, but honestly it doesn’t feel like hands at all. I could pull my needle, over bow etc without any effort, since it didn’t wobble and was very stable standing on these. That’s not what you want when you are working on your stunting skills as a flyer. You want some wobbling to make it more challenging to pull your tricks and still being stable. At home, I would rather work on my stunting skills on a chair. For me, it gave the feeling of stepping up in a stunt and then working on staying tight all the time. This kind of stunt stand is too low for a flyer to get the feeling of stepping up in a stunt as if they were stunting for real. The only good thing with this stunt stand is that some of the blocks can spin 360, which can help the flyer to work on her 360 up on one foot for example. But working on it in a stunt is what will really help you learning that kind of stunt.Although if you really want a stunt stand I would recommend this:It’s a lot more realistic and gives you much more help to stay tight in the air. We also have these in our gym and most of the athletes prefer these ones. I always used the balance plate when I had to work on my stunting on the floor. They are a bit wobbly which is exactly what you want. If you can pull a scorp, heel stretch or scale etc while it wobbles you will be a queen in the air. Thanks to the balance plate my flying skills was getting so much better!I think the balance plate is better because it’s higher which makes it feel like you are stepping in a stunt for real and it wobbles if you aren’t staying tight enough and that is really the problem flyers wants to get rid of.Good luck!

What does it take to make the JV cheer leading squad?

it really depends on how big your school is and how many people are trying out.
you can find a tumbling/gymnastics gym that's close to you and they can usually schedule 1 on 1 appointments with someone who can help you with your roundoff. and depending on how long the session is and how many times you go you could maybe even learn a backhandspring.

also work on your jumps.
high school tryouts are usually divided into sections -
jumps, tumbling, dance, and cheer.
and you get graded on how well you do on each, then those scores are put into a total score and the top 12-24 girls will make the squad.

when you're trying out make sure to use good facials and keep your motions really sharp and tight. and always keep your voice loud, but don't scream.

remember to show spirit after the cheer. but DON'T say "woo". and DON'T use spirit fingers.

if you need more help then extend your question and i'll answer with whatever else you need.

I didn't make the cheerleading team! How can i feel better!?

calpal has it right.
Definitely find out WHY you didn't make it so you can prepare yourself a list of things to work on. When I tried out for the high school team it didn't matter if you were on a feeder team or not. I skipped that in favor of all stars in middle school and subsequently spent all 4 years as a flyer on the varsity team ;-)
Do the all star cheer team if you can, most of these gyms have cheer classes and tumbling classes also. Another thing to do is go to the high school games during the season and watch what the high school squad is doing. Most varsity squads run a summer cheer camp also.
In the end, a year is going to pass regardless... what are YOU going to do with that time?
;-)

How can I make the Varsity cheerleading team next year?

Oh my Gosh, We are both in the SAME exact situation! I'm a freshman, tried out in the spring, didn't make either squad, so I'm gonna try out again this spring shooting to make the Varsity squad! I also believe I had the potential to make the JV squad but of course I let my nerves get to me, so I messed up the cheer, blanked out in the middle of the dance and just stood there like a shaky little Chihuahua. Anyway, what I'm saying is, I may not be a cheerleader (yet! :]) but since not making the team I've decided I'm going to stick to my dream, work hard and start preparing as soon as possible so that I can get really good, and I've done A LOT of research! Over the past couple months I've basically been obsessed with finding out everything I need to know and do to make the Varsity squad. I'm DETERMINED to make it, and I know that if I work hard enough I CAN! So my advice to you is just stay determined, don't give up, and work hard in your tumbling classes and on the all-star team! Here are some more tips:
1. Stretch every day! This along with everything else will help you become more limber and flexible, so your kicks and jumps are high and tight and you can do all 3 splits!
2. Work on making your motions really tight, almost stiff, and make sure when you're dancing your moves are sharp and you really hit them!
3. Try to eat a little healthier, take a jog every day and walk more places if you can. And drink more water!
4. Work on your confidence!! Get your confidence level up and along with your great skills, by the team the next tryouts roll around you'll be a surefire bet to make the Varsity squad! Have a positive attitude, be enthusiastic and outgoing and SMILE! And remember also to have a loud but clear, steady voice in your cheer!
And don't let anyone get you down! If you're determined and you work hard, you can do anything (sounds cheesy but it's true) so if anyone says that you're shooting to far for wanting to make Varsity or that you won't be good enough, ignore them! You'll prove them wrong!!

That advice I just gave you is basically what I'm giving to myself, too- we're working toward the same goal! Anything else I didn't mention, just look up on the internet- it has everything!
I hope I helped you and good luck!!! :)

Is it possible to make the freshmen cheer team with no experience?

A few friends of mine and I were thinking about trying out for cheer freshmen year and we have the whole summer to stretch or get flexible ect. We all can cartwheel, round off, handstand and back bend. Is there any chance we'll make the team? I'm just wondering how much competition there is haha. It's no big deal if we don't make it we just wanted to try. Thanks (:
