I Was Checking Out My Network And Came Across This On It Does Anyone Know What It Is Can It Be

Can I use my sprint phone on any other network? Including prepaid carriers ?

Depending on the model of your iPhone, it's possible that it can be used on other networks. Traditionally, CDMA phones cannot be transferred to another service without being flashed. However, the iPhone 4s and iPhone 5 are "world phones" meaning they have both CDMA and GSM (SIM card-based) technology. This was originally intended to help with international travel.

You can get on board with "Bring Your Own Phone" (BYOP) programs offered by other providers by taking advantage of your phone's GSM capability. I believe that Sprint GSM technology comes unlocked. That said, I would reach out to Sprint and ask them to fully unlock your phone when your service ends.

In terms of services, you might want to check out Straight Talk's BYOP program. They have an unlimited talk, text and data plan for $45 a month that's really awesome. They also operate using the tower's of the major service providers (AT&T, Verizon, etc.) so their service is very good.

Another option is Net10. Like Straight Talk the have a BYOP program and uses the towers of the big four wireless operators. They're definitely worth checking out.

Can the WiFi owner see what I’m browsing?

Unless you are tunneling your traffic over a VPN (Virtual Private Network), the WiFi owner, with the appropriate equipment installed between their WiFi and their link to the internet, COULD see many things:They could see every web site you visit (and the internet addresses of all the companies that are filling in the advertisements if you are visiting a site that has them). That is to say, they’d know if you shopped on Amazon, checked out Facebook, or browsed Quora for a while. If the URL in your browser shows https:// then they generally could not see what you got from the site (cannot read your E-mail, see the pictures you looked at, etc.) because this traffic is encrypted. If the URL in your browser shows http:// then they could, with a packet sniffer, reassemble the data and look at every single web page that you looked at while using their WiFi.The up side is that unless they are looking for something in particular and have special equipment installed to grab the data and software to make sense of it, it’s pretty much noise. And if a proprietor has a lot of users, it’s a whole lot of noise. Just to pick out the traffic going to and from the laptop of a particular person is work, and that’s before you even try to figure out what they are doing. I doubt that many businesses providing public WiFi have interest in spending that time.

If I use my neighbor's Wi-Fi, will they know?

Sure, there are many ways your neighbor can find out if you’re connecting to their Wi-Fi•IP address-If they are so inclined, they could log into their router and see if their DHCP server assigned an IP to a device they they didn’t connect and what IP their DHCP assigned it•Network host name-If you have ever set up Windows after installing or first boot of a new PC, you may see a spot where it says “host name” or “computer name”, many times we just insert our name like “Mike-PC” or “Susie’s-PC” or something like that, some routers (like AT&T’s U-verse RG) will show the host name of any device connected to it, along with assigned IP and MAC address, on the firmware’s homepage, not only that, but it will even show if the device is currently offline or onlineUnencrypted traffic-There is a very popular packet sniffer by the name of WireShark, this will basically scan or “sniff” the network looking for any data passing through the network, if you look in the right spot, if the messages (say an instant message for example) are unencrypted, WireShark will show that IM text plain as day, word for word, just as you sent it, of they didn’t send it, but saw it in a packet sniffer, they would know that you connected to their networkChances are though, unless your neighbor is a known hacker, nerd, IT professional or some other sort of techie, they probably don’t even know what an IP is let alone log into their router looking for “Wi-Fi snarfers” (real term) or wardrivers on their network, and have probably never heard of WireShark let alone have it installed and know how to use it

How do you reset a Buffalo WHR-HP-G54 to factory settings?

Try disconnecting the router from the internet period. Then connect a WIRED computer to one of the outlets and reboot the router. Once the router has completely reboot, restart your computer.

When the computer comes back up click Start --> Run and type "command" that will bring up a black dos screen.. on that type
ipconfig /all

It should show your IP address for your computer and a "GATEWAY" address.. That address is the ROUTER!
Log into it WITH OUT the internet being connected!!! Once logged in check to see its addresses!

Now connect your computer directly to the internet modem. Check the same ip settings. If the gateway shows the same address as the router was (It is not in the circuit at the time) you have a NATTED modem using the same address as your router.

Some of the DSL /Internet Providers today are using modems with NAT enabled, its entirely possible you have a nated modem using the exact same network address as your router. If that is the case, you will have to log into the MODEM first and set it to BRIDGE mode! Then reconnect the router!

You can also change the LAN address range of the router, that also works! SO if you currently have a 192.168.0.x lan setting make it 192.168.2.x etc just different to the modems setting.

By the way the hardware reset is done with the INIT button.
Hold it down for about 5-6 seconds till the Diag light turns red. Then release it wait for the reboot. That should restore the factory settings for Buffalo!

Been there Done that a few times.

Good Luck and God Bless

(Sorry but in this case Crown is well just WRONG about ICS. Having a natted router first in line off the internet prevents anyone from directly accessing ANY COMPUTER on the lan. The safe factor is with a router first before any computer and no port forwarding in the router!!!! This blocks any inbound request period - its stopped DEAD no firewall needed.)
