I Wonder A Prom Dress It

Prom in a few days and my dress is too tight!! HELP!!!?

Step one: calm down. Do some yoga. Go on a walk. Jump rope. I don't care. But lose the caps, and not your head :)

Step two: realize why it doesn't fit. Did it fit when you tried it on the first time? Did you even try it on before you bought it? If you didn't, no offense, but that's what you get for buying before trying. You never know what will fit and what won't. If you did however, then it looks like you've gained weight since you first got it. That leads us to...

Step three: Lose the weight. I can't guarantee you you'll lose enough to make the dress fit - I severely doubt it, anyway - but you can at least try. Do some extra workouts. Sweat extra hard. Depending on where exactly the dress isn't fitting, you'll need to focus on specific areas in order to try to fit by prom. Other than this, I would suggest you take back the dress and get it in a different size. If you can't find the same dress in a different size, you'll have to go with a different one. And if they won't let you return it, for whatever reason, then you are out of luck.

I hope this helped you, that really sucks :/ I wonder why that happened!

What is the point of wearing a garter under a prom dress?

sounds like something girls do to look sluttier. i've never heard of girls wearing them at prom, but i believe you.
but weddings aren't the only place girls wear garters. they used to be a totally standard part of everyday underwear. they were made to hold your stockings up. but now people mostly just wear them for special occasions, in the bedroom. i guess they're sexy or something.

Prom dreses, bad luck?

no wedding dresses they say are bad luck. it is all really a superstition. it really wont do you any harm to see the prom dress it is only the importance that you give it. but if it bugs her then just try not to see it again. if it still bugging her then tell her that it wont matter because she Will look 6 times more beautiful on the day of prom

good luck to you

Turning a Long Prom Dress Into a Short one?

Long question, so plz bear w/ me. :) Okay, so this is what my dress looks like now...

For other occasions in the future, (like weddings, idk....lol) I'd want to have this shortened to give it a whole new look! Would it be possible to take it to a seamstress to make it look something like this?

http://i1207.photobucket.com/albums/bb468/manny7771/Poly%20USA%20Fall%202012/6568r_POLY_0992_zpsd68561ec.jpg

...to get that similar length? And sew a petticoat underneath the dress to give my dress a shape like the red one? :P Except my dress would still be white, not red, lol. If all this is possible, how much money could this cost, roughly?

Thanks! :)

Should I go to the after-party for prom?

I'm graduating in June and my senior prom is at the end of May. I already bought my dress and I'm definitely going, so far without a date, but I'm wondering if I should go to the after-prom. Traditionally, after prom all the graduating students go to the local beach for the weekend following prom and rent cottages, and basically get drunk...the thing is, this isn't my idea of fun. Drinking, sex, drugs...I'm not accustomed to any of that stuff. Throughout high school, I've always been the "good girl." I'm just wondering if I'm going to miss out on a worthwhile experience or whatever by not going.

I know my parents disapprove of this after-prom tradition but they'll ultimately let me make my own decision, since I'm 18. However, none of my close friends are going.

Do you think wearing a velvet dress to my prom will be wierd because it is summer now?

my dress is a velvet black dress, golden straps.. i think it looks pretty and very elegant because of this material but do u think people will care about that fact it is made of velvet and think it is weird?

If someone has very broad shoulders with big arms, would this strapless, empire line wedding dress suit them?

Hello! I have answered a question similar to this on here before. The bottom line was that strapless isn't for everyone no matter how badly you may want to wear it. Yes, we are supposed to be happy with our bodies etc. etc... but this just may not be your most flattering look. Try something with straps that will break up the solid horizontal line of your shoulders. Perhaps a halter style if your bust isn't too big. Using a shawl in a sheer fabric would let you wear the strapless but give you a bit of cover. An off the shoulder with elbow-length sleeves would be flattering (David's Bridal). A dress with a long jacket that would give a strong vertical line would take the focus off of your upper body too. Good luck!

I was wondering which would be better to buy: cleavage cupcakes or takeouts?

I went to get my prom dress altered today and if i Don't fill out the bust in my dress, its not going to be good. It will probably have to be major altered. Ive heard of both of the products but im not sure which product to buy. I need to only go up about a cup size need to fill out all over not just a bunch of cleavage for show. Id appreciate some help deciding. Thanks
