I Would Like To Fill Out An Apllication To Join Vash Hud Program Where Do I Start

What is the best organization for assistance in filing a VA claim?

From altitude, most organizations are about the same. The important thing to remember is that these positions are filled by unpaid volunteers and that each is different. Talk to a few vets in your area that have filed a claim locally and you'll get a feel for who is thorough and who is not. Make sure to register at www.va.gov so you can follow your claim and see appointment times. It is very important that you make your appointments. Miss one and unduly prolong the process. While you're researching the best person to work your claim, consider visiting your local veteran organizations, joining one or two, attending membership meetings and maybe taking an active role. Many volunteers are aging and could use a hand.Active duty service members can drastically reduce the length of time needed to complete their claim by starting while still on active duty. Visit the Family Readiness Center or appropriate office to pick up the paperwork and make an appointment. Start when 180 days from separation. The claims officer will need at least 60 days to get you to appointments, etc, so start early.

Is there any other programs besides section 8, or CMHA where I can get housing help?

Section 8 is part of CMHA. That is it for government hand outs.

Your local church may have a program, many do.

I tried to email ibu, couldn't. I 100% agree, the illegals are the problem. There are so many of them using the programs, housing especially, that there is no help available for Americans. I am in CA, the housing projects are 95% illegal Mexicans. It pisses me off, I want my money helping my fellow Americans.

Would I qualify for HUD-VASH or Section 8? (Homeless Veteran).?

I was in the Army Reserve and discharged Under Honorable Conditions (General).I never deployed/served on active duty.My only active time was Basic/AIT.I was recently VA Health Care approved, priority group 5.

I'm wondering if I would be eligible for
HUD-VASH or Section 8, or is that just for Active Duty/Deployment Veterans?

Am I even a considered a Veteran, in regards to their requirements for HUD VASH and Section 8?

How do you apply for HUD-VASH Voucher?

Overview
The HUD-Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing (HUD-VASH) program combines Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) rental assistance for homeless Veterans with case management and clinical services provided by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). VA provides these services for participating Veterans at VA medical centers (VAMCs) and community-based outreach clinics
National Homeless Veteran Call Center 877-4AID VET (877-424-3838)

The National Homeless Veteran Call Center (NHVCC) provides improved access for homeless
veterans to VA services and programs and other community resources.
How does the process work?
Initial call
§ 877-4AID VET (or 877-424-3838) will connect callers with a trained VA staff member
24 hours a day, seven days a week.
§ The staff member will conduct a brief screen of each homeless Veteran to determine the
severity of the need. With each caller, the NHVCC responder will obtain information
about the caller’s current living situation, family, employment, source of income, legal
issues, previous/current use of VA and community services, primary reason for the call
and how they can be reached for follow-up.
§ If a caller is experiencing a life-threatening emergency, the NHVCC staff will follow an
emergency protocol to ensure the caller receives the appropriate assistance immediately.
§ The caller will be connected with a homelessness specialist at the nearest VA facility.
Follow-up
§ Within 24 hours of the call, NHVCC staff will follow up to determine if the veteran is
being assisted by the VA facility.
§ Within 5 days of the call, NHVCC staff will ensure that a plan is in place for the veteran
and actions are being taken.
§ Within 14 days of the call, NHVCC staff will determine whether the veteran’s needs have

Can VA homeless programs assist veterans recently separated from their spouse?

The housing programs the VA offers are based on need to prevent homelessness so the answer really depends on whether or not this separation is the cause of homelessness or near homelessness. If the recently separated veteran can otherwise house themselves they would not likely qualify for assistance. VAs may have resources available to assist the veteran in other ways, such as outpatient therapy, group therapy and/or peer support. It is always best to contact the VA you live closest to and inquire directly about what programs and services are available at that location. You can request services be made available to you through the Veterans Choice program if your VA doesn’t offer the services you need and you can seek the service in the civilian community.

The VA cut the program for homeless vets after touting Trump's commitment. Why did Trump cut $460 million from a program that helped homeless veterans?

This is absolutely disgusting and Trump is no friend of veterans!VA cuts program for homeless vets after touting Trump's commitment“Four days after Veterans Affairs Secretary David Shulkin held a big Washington event to tout the Trump administration’s promise to house all homeless vets, the agency did an about-face, telling advocates it was pulling resources from a major housing program. The VA said it was essentially ending a special $460 million program that has dramatically reduced homelessness among chronically sick and vulnerable veterans. Instead, the money would go to local VA hospitals that can use it as they like, as long as they show evidence of dealing with homelessness.Anger exploded on a Dec. 1 call that was arranged by Shulkin’s Advisory Committee on Homeless Veterans to explain the move. Advocates for veterans, state officials and even officials from HUD, which co-sponsors the program, attacked the decision, according to five people who were on the call."I don’t understand why you are pulling the rug out," Elisha Harig-Blaine, a National League of Cities housing official who was on the call, said in an interview afterward. "You're putting at risk the lives of men and women who've served this country."“The VA is taking its foot off the pedal,” said Leon Winston, an executive at Swords to Plowshares, which helps homeless vets in San Francisco, where he said the VA decision is already having an impact. HUD recently put up 100 housing vouchers for veterans in the program, but the local VA hospital said it could only provide support for 50.The agency's move came as HUD on Wednesday released its annual surveyshowing a 1.5 percent increase in veteran homelessness over 2016 — the first rise since 2010. Most of the jump occurred in Los Angeles, where housing costs are skyrocketing.”

How to find a section 8/HUD house for rent?

How do I market a program to veterans?

I don’t know what you want to do, or what you have to offer, so I guess the only recommendation I can give you is for you to do some research and find out who your local military veterans organizations are, figure out who sits on their leadership committees, and go pitch your product. Quite frankly, if you know someone that can help you in the door would be best. Thing is this, there are so many different agencies and organizations trying to pitch to the military veterans, and it confuses us because we really don’t know where to turn because of the exploitation of the military veteran status. My question to you is what is it you want to do? Do you have a viable product? Why do you want to pitch this product to the military veterans? What benefit is there for us? Maybe if you can help me with those questions, maybe I may be able to help you. Thank you.
