I'm writing a novel, and I want it to be about 130 pages long? Please help!!?

130 pages is a novella, not a novel. A book that's 130 pages long simply doesn't have anything like the word count necessary to make it a novel.

And do you mean you want it to be 130 pages in WordPad or 130 pages in the form of a proper book? If you mean the latter, assume about 250-300 words a page and work it out from there.

Where should I set my margins in wordpad to write a novel? ?

MLA format is easiest. That's 1 inch margins, double spaced, 12 Times New Roman. Break chapters where they will be broken easiest. It is okay to have really long chapters, really short, a mixture of both. It's where there is a major change in the story.

What font size is equivalent to handwriting on lined paper (word pad)?

I'm doing my school exams on my computer and i normally figure out how long my essay is by the number of pages, but obviously if im writing with size 10 font there's gonna be a longer essay fitted onto the same size page than with size 1000, so i was wondering what font, if printed out would be equivalent to handwriting, and i know some people write bigger or smaller than others but just an average will be pefect, thanks

p.s im using microsoft word pad

How many characters are in a double spaced word page?

If you're writing in Notepad then the file size on disk almost exactly corresponds to the number of characters in your document.

With regard to the number of characters on a page in Word, it depends on your page size and font size. I use A4 paper here; do you use A4 or Letter? I usually use 12 point Garamond; what do you use?

You might want to use Wordpad, installed on your Windows system by default, which is a very cut-down word processing application. You can use different fonts, etc., and probably prepare most of your word far more easily than in Notepad.

I believe a typical word size is five characters - see http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?... - so if you have 250 words/page then if you multiply that by six (remember the spaces!) you'll get the required number of characters.

For anyone else out there, http://lipsum.com is a good place to get artificially generated text.

How do you make columns on WordPad? What are some examples?

You can’t add columns directly in WordPad, but if you have MS Word installed, you can insert columns, indirectly, into WordPad. The following instructions were written on a Windows 8.1 machine, with MS Word 2016 (Home & Business edition). Maybe someone with a different MS Office installation can chime in, but this should work for any Word document. To Insert Columns in a WordPad Document:Click Insert Object button in WordPad:2. Make sure Create New is selected, then scroll down and select Microsoft Word Document:3. Click OK, and a blank MS Word document will open:4. Go to the Layout tab, Page Setup group, and select the Columns button:5. Select the number of columns you want, and start typing. Insert a column break where you want, or let Word do it automatically as you reach the end of the page:6. Type your other column:7. When you’re finished, close the MS Word application. You will be taken back to WordPad, where you will see a placeholder for your MS Word document:8. Expand as necessary to see the content:9. The blue background indicates that the MS Word object is selected. Deselect it, and you’re done!Final Note: Never mind that the cursor is in the lower right corner, just hit Enter, and you’re back to whatever alignment (left, center, right, justify) you were using before inserting the object.Hope that helps!
