Ideals For A Formal Updo For A Boy With Long Hair For School Dance

What should I wear to a semi-formal dance?

Semi-formal means one thing to me and to someone else it could mean something totally different. Okay?Ask the party hosting the event what “their” definition is to be certain your dress style is adequate. To me. Formal is floor length gowns with beading and wonderful jewelry and updos that take hours to do. Formal.Casual means jeans, tee shirt, shorts, tank tops, etc…casual that you’d wear to a family picnic or something. Athletic shoes or sandals okay.Work casual. Slacks, dressy tops, no suits or ties, polo style shirts for men, Dockers instead of a suit/suit pants with a button down collared shirt and tie. Nice shoes, open toes okay but probably would wear closed toes just because it’s more professional.Church dress. Ladies in dresses that are modest in style meaning less skin showing than going out to a club with friends…, men is pressed pants and a clean shirt that is a business style shirt and probably with a tie. Dockers or slacks with dressy shoes, not athletic shoes. Mostly likely closed toe shoes. Lower thigh to mid calf length. Regular necklines, modest. No halters, strapless, or lack of coverage in those areas. Less skin showing.Semi-formal. Lacy, beading, silk, satin, sheer sections, decorative trims, unusual necklines with decorations to draw attention, updos, hairstyles worn down are very stylized and not just brush and go, more formal than church dress but not nearly as formal as full formal attire. Dresses are not too short but not down to the floor either. They’re mid length.

Hairstyle for a Middle School Semi-Formal?

I like this hairstyle. It's dressy, but not too dressy and it's different. :)
Or, since you always flat iron your hair, you should curl it, like Taylor Swift's hair:

A cute side-ponytail (curled would be nicer, in my opinion) is also really cute:

Have fun at your semi-formal! =)

What are some good hairstyles for a school dance?

I'm going to go ahead and assume you are a girl. Since I have no idea what you are wearing, I will just give three choices. I find that the sexiest hairstyles for me are long, thick hair, a loose bun or short, spiky hair. Images below are in the same order as the hairstyles I named.

I am a 21 year-old male but too short (5' 4"). I am constantly referred to as the kid and I feel that I am never really taken seriously. Girls don't like me. Can I do anything to improve my height?

There was a short guy who merely conquered the whole europe, his name is Napolen. Have you seen the HBO product "the game of throne". There is a role named Tyrion. In real world, people aren't judge you by your common characters. People judge you by your special characters.

Homecoming dance questions!?

HI!
So I'm a freshman this year in high school, and homecoming is in exactly three weeks. I have plans to go with my friends. I just need to know what I should look like.
DRESS:
I know i should wear a dress BUT what should it look like? i dont want buying suggestions on brands, but maybe what did your dress look like for homecoming when you were in 9th grade? like how short, what style, color and stuff like that..
SHOES:should I wear heels? do freshman wear heels? sandal heels, pumps, wedges? how high? if no heels then what?
BAG/PURSE:what should I use for a bag to hold cell money lip stuff? i dont want it to get in the way, and if you have any ideas how to hold a cell phone without a bag, im all ears..
MAKE UP: I have brown eyes, brown hair, and somewhat tan skin, but not too tan. so how should i do my make up?
HAIR: I have brown hair with natural reddish and blonde highlights from the sun. its very curly, and i will definitly straighten it, but what are some cute hairstyles for straight hair?
so also what goes down at homecomig dances?? i dont even really know how to dance, so any tips on that would be great too!!
i want to make this a very memorable and fabulous night, please help me!!!
thanks soooo much!

What should I wear to a high school prom?

Am I late to the party? Yeah, probably. Oh well, it showed up in my feed and not answering it could keep me awake at night.Whatever you want. I’ll give a guys opinion here.I was 13 when I went to my first (and, incidentally, only) prom. In Australia we don’t have them, I was fortunate enough to be in the United States at the time. Now, 13 year old me wasn’t a good looking kid (and believe me, I’m definitely better looking now than I was then). Here’s a 13 year old me just before going to prom. Note how the arm length of the suit was too long, the left cuff isn’t right and I’m not wearing a watch. Also look at the hair, the pants and the mustache. Looking back, I wasn’t as “smart” as I thought I was. 10 years can change a man; and I’m bloody glad it did/does.Point being, I wore a suit to what would ordinarily be considered a “casual/business casual” event. And man did I get brownie points for it. If only I had a date, it could’ve made the night magical… but instead I goofed around with some of my American mates and partied like it was 2006; because it absolutely was.Being a 23 year old male who hasn’t done this for 10 years, I can’t give you much advice (assuming you’re a girl, that is) but if you’re a guy - dress to impress, man. Even if it’s just the teachers; suits are great. Just… don’t do what I did.SHAVE and do NOT wear a red shirt. I looked like a Mafioso according to one mate. But, hey - 10 years later and I still have the tie! It would also benefit you to NOT look like you haven’t slept at all since you were born. Then again, I really didn’t want any pictures taken. And yet this one survived…I’ll defer to another, more experienced, Quora user (who just so happens to be a lady) who can (hopefully) give you a woman’s perspective if need be. Kelley; you’re up.

Is it appropriate for a girl to wear a polo shirt for semi-formal dress? Any ideas of what I can wear with it?

I'm going to a dinner with my friends and we have to dress semi-formal. I decided that I didn't want to wear a dress or anything like that for a change, but try something a little different. How do you think a polo shirt would look? I've seen guys wear polo shirts for semi-formal dress, but is it okay for girls to as well? If so, what should I wear with it? I was thinking maybe tucked into a pair of black pants with a cute belt or something, but I'm open to other ideas as well. I'm not sure about what shoes to wear though, or how to do my hair. Any other ideas. Pics would be helpful to is possible.

Me in the polo:

Also, this might sound a bit weird, but should I wear my polo buttoned up like in the picture or not? I usually wear polo shirts with the top button open, but recently I've started to like wearing it buttoned up, and I think it compliments the outfit more that way, but I'm not sure. Any ideas?

Thanks.

What are some quick, cute, good hairstyles for long hair?

Here are a couple of hairstyles that make you look gorgeous on every occasion:1)Low BunIf you have hair that extends beyond the shoulders but would like an elegant and clean look to go with your cheongsam, the low bun is definitely the way to go. A low bun gives off the impression that this beautiful look was created with minimal fuss and is effective in highlighting the neckline and detailing of the garment. Accentuate a low bun with some hair accessories and a pair of striking earrings.2) Long Wavy and Swept to the SideOpt for a romantic look with this simple hairstyle. Keep it loose with naturally wavy locks or crimp slightly if you have straight hair. Sweep it all to one side and put on a pair of pearl or diamond earrings and a brush of bright red lipstick to complete the look – simply gorgeous!3)Short and Traditionally StyledThis is by far the most traditional and classic hairstyle to match a cheongsam. Many television shows and movies set during the time when cheongsams were in style feature actresses in this hairstyle. If you have hair that is just above the shoulders, then this is the perfect look for you. Style your locks in corrugated waves and slicked with some styling oil for a classic and traditional look. Your bangs should be an inch above the eyebrows to showcase your features and short hairstyle completely highlights the neckline and the styling on the cheongsam. If you are looking for more creative hairstyles, do refer to this blog.Cheers
