If Gwb Invaded The Middle East For Oil

Why did President George W Bush invade Iraq in 2003?

I've gone on some websites to find out why George Bush started a war in Iraq, but they were too complicated and confusing. Can someone simply explain why this war was started?

Should we nuke the Middle East?

no......
I am 54 year old American Male.
I don't have deep visceral hatred of Middle East.

I think our country should devote as much energy towards energy independance as we did to create atom bomb in ww2.
The sooner we don't need thier oil the better.
Then they can go back to the 7th Century.

But if Iran nukes Isreal then its game on and the world will be worse for it.

Did the middle east (Terrorists from 911)?

I agree with Robert Abuse.

http://whatreallyhappened.com/WRHARTICLES/fiveisraelis.html (Jews that set up cameras before twin towers got attacked)

About the Jews: The New York Times reported Thursday that a group of five men had set up video cameras aimed at the Twin Towers prior to the attack on Tuesday, and were seen congratulating one another afterwards. (1)
[T]hey were seen by New Jersey residents on Sept. 11 making fun of the World Trade Center ruins and going to extreme lengths to photograph themselves in front of the wreckage. (4)

Dispatcher: Jersey City police.
Caller: Yes, we have a white van, 2 or 3 guys in there, they look like Palestinians and going around a building.
Caller: There's a minivan heading toward the Holland tunnel, I see the guy by Newark Airport mixing some junk and he has those sheikh uniform.
Dispatcher: He has what?
Caller: He's dressed like an Arab. (8)
One anonymous phone call to the authorities actually led them to close down all of New York's bridges and tunnels. The mystery caller told the 9-1-1 dispatcher that a group of Palestinians were mixing a bomb inside of a white van headed for the Holland Tunnel.
When the found the whit van it turned out the were not Muslims nor were the Palestinians the were Jews from Israel. People always blame it on the Muslims. Read the full article.

How has the administration of George W. Bush used preemptive military strikes? What is your opinion of preemp?

First two questions - See: Iraq War and Operation Shock and Awe.
My opinion of preemption depends on the severity of the threat, which in Iraq's case wasn't all that great.

Drawbacks? See: Present Day Iraq

Why is oil so valuable to the world market?

Oil is the cheapest and most convenient energy source. It's the only energy source that works in cars and trucks and trains and planes and ships so far.

Notice that the middle east situation is not ABOUT oil. It's only important to the rest of the world because the oil is there. The places in the middle east without oil only become important when something else happens. For example few cared when the Soviet Union invaded Afghanistan and few cared when the Taliban drove them out. The west only cared when Afghanistan was used as a launching base for terrorism and even then most of the people weren't natives from there.

What went wrong with the United States's nation-building efforts in Iraq?

Democracy cannot be transplanted; it has to be home-grown. You can grow it there if you are willing to occupy a country for decades, as the United States did with Japan and Germany. But Bush wanted to invade Iraq on the cheap and then get out. Also, Iraq shouldn’t really exist. It is an artificial creation of the victorious powers after World War I. It’s not surprising that once its dictator was removed, it fell back into its old factions. The USA should have known this, of course, but George W. Bush didn’t have the geopolitical nous that God gave a mule. His dad was a lot smarter. He kicked the Iraqis out of Kuwait, but went no further because he knew that the USA would be responsible for the resulting quagmire if he did.

What was the price of a barrel of oil when Bush took office compared to what it is now??

Are conservatives even capable of telling the truth or giving a direct answer??

First...a direct answer....The price of oil was about 25/barrel when Bush took office in Jan 2000....now it has been around 120/barrel for months. That is about a 500% increase for those who are math challanged.

Second....no one...including liberals...ever said the invasion of Iraq was about CHEAP oil. That is just another conservative flat out lie. Some did claim it was about US oil companies gettin their hands on oil.....but no one who knows anything about Bushies oil company exec pals would ever claim anything about cheap oil.

Third....while running for president in 2000 Bush said when prices get high presidents should tell oil producers to open the spigot. Yet, Bandar Bush has never asked his good opec buddies to do anything. His ill-advised invasion of a middle east oil-producer has caused uncerterty and distribution problems.

Fourth ...at the start of the Bush presidency Cheney and Bush brought in oil company executives and in secrecy let them set energy poliy. We are reaping the fruits of that now. Oil companies are making more profits than any business ever in history. Meanwhile, no conservation policy and cuts in alternative fuel reseach.

Ringlar- You are either an idiot or a liar. Prices began to shoot up in 2003. Years before a democratic congress. The trend has only continued after the 2006 election. I suppose they were supposed to reverse it even though Bush vetoes all their bills. FOOL!

Edit- Susi...you are another idiot....inflation has been less than 3% a year....how does that account for a 500% increase?? And OPEC are Bush's buddies...what happened to his "open the spigot" campaign promise? I love how the "party of personal responsiblity" refuses to take responsiblity for anything.

You neocon idiots can give me all the thumbs down you want...but I DARE you to PROVE one thing I said as false....you can't...
