If I Got A Grade C In Science In Year 10 Is It Easy For Me To Get A B In Year 11

I didn't study computer science in 11th and 12th grade, but now I wish to pursue computer science at the Manipal Institute of Technology. Is it a good decision to do so?

YES! If you can code and apply logic, take it. Passion, perseverance and patience to solve problems will make you a great CS undergrad.I was in the same boat. I took up Engineering Design in 12th, (something unique I know). It was easy, scored a 95+ in boards but deeply regretted taking it up and missing out on Computer Science since I have been into Computers since 7th grade.-   Most important advice would be to listen in your PSUC class(1st year) and sincerely code in the lab. This will walk you through the absolute basics of programming.-   Join a technical club, IE-CSE, LUG, IEEE's CS division etc.-   Keep following coding, technology, ACM, IEEE blogs everyday to learn about developments in research and the market.-   Never stop learning. Make google your friend. If you see 'Virtual Functions' written on the projector's slides, google it, read about it, discuss with your friend circle(important) and implement it correctly in the lab.-   Try reading books like 'How to solve it by Computers', 'Art of Computer Programming', 'Structure and Interpretation of Programs'-   Try coding as much as you can. Practice makes you perfect.I didn't know what '#include' did before I came to college and now I can call myself at par with other programmers here. It's just interest and how much time you are willing to put into it. Don't take it as coursework, read stuff up everyday. One last thingComputer Science is a science and not just a programmer's haven. You should also focus on how programs are run (Compilers), stored (Databases, Big Data), managed (OS), taught (AI, Machine Learning), communicate (Networks), executed (Computer Architecture), analyzed (debugging), displayed (Graphics) and the math behind each algorithm. This is equally important and if not worked upon, then you're just a script kiddie.

In what order would you take the AP science classes?

A pathway for an AP student highly interested in majoring in medicine or any science related fields would generally look like:9th grade: Biology or H10th grade: Chemistry or H11th grade: AP Biology or AP Chemistry12th grade: AP Chemistry or AP BiologyIf a student is interested in majoring in engineering, computer science, or anything related with math. Typically, the route would look like:9th grade: Physics10th grade: AP Physics 1summer of 10th/11th grade: dual enrollment in Biology(if necessary to graduate)11th grade: AP Physics 212th grade: AP Physics CTypically, a normal route for every high school student in the U.S would look like:9th grade: Biology10th grade: Physics11th grade: Chemistry12th grade: If not interested in any of the subjects I listed below, students would take Forensic Science or Physiology. In all seriousness, please don’t overload your schedule with AP Classes.

Can I still pass 8th grade?

Here are my grades as of today:
Math- 69 F
Science- 75 D
Reading- 76 C
English- 62 F
Religion- 100 A
History- 76 C
Spanish- 89 B
Ik Ik I legit f*cked up 8th grade horribly. You don't need to tell me that. I just need to know if I will pass or not. Btw I also already paid my graduation fee and I got my gown...and never had warnings from the school about my grades...

I'm trying to stump my 8th grade science teacher for extra credit do you have one for me?

On the final test of the semester, I always like to play around with my Math instructors and replace -1's with e^(i*pi). Don't screw yourself up, though.

What subjects do you have to learn in the 11th Grade and in the 12th Grade?

I'm writing a book (based in north america) and I need to know what subjects you learn in the 11th Grade, and what subjects you learn in the 12th grade? Thanks :]

Should I repeat 11th grade?

First of all, I am currently enrolled in an international school that offers IB diploma.
I am enrolled in IB diploma, but currently I feel like I wasn't able to show my full potential.
Throughout the year, I had many many issues; I almost got kicked out of the country because of a problem I had on my Visa, I was really really sick that I once had to skip 2 weeks of school alongside with many absences due to illness, so on. I am currently living with my dad, and this is my second year studying in an English-based school. Here is my gpa:

10th grade- my first year in an English school
English-C C
Math-B+ B+
Science- A A
History- B B
Spanish- A A+

11th grade- I decided to take IB
French AB INITIO SL- A A
Biology HL A- B+
Computer Science HL B+ B+
Math SL- B B
English SL- C+ C+
Economics HL- B B

my grades are really bad. Well, the first year's grades were bad, because I had to learn English from the bottom. However, I managed to get out of ESL after my sophomore year so at least I tried. But the problem is, my junior year is really bad. Most of the Bs and Cs I have are because of the absences I had; I had to take quizzes and exams without being prepared. Besides that, I was really having a bad life; I had neither money nor food to nourish myself, no one in my house to take care of -my dad always came home after 12-, etc.

I feel like I can do better if I repeat this junior year and redeem myself. I think I can, but would the colleges see it badly?

6 AP classes in 11th grade?

Thats a lot for junior year. One kid in my school took I think 4 or 5, and he's extremely talented and smart, and began to slack in school in general. It really depends on how seriously you are committed to getting work done and how much time a day you are willing to use to get that work done. I took only 2 APs in my junior year, and, I got a 4 on the AP English and a 5 on the AP US history. Most importantly is that kept an A average, and thats what colleges really look at : the actual grade you get in the class. Don't kill yourself with APs... You still want to be able to do decent in each of them to actually impress colleges. Think about what you're strongest in and then stick to that.

Best of Luck =)

Is it bad to take algebra 1 freshman year in high school?

Did “Taking Algebra 1 as a freshman” ever do harm to yourself or others? If yes, then how could you? Stop doing that right now! If not, then it should be fine.Anyway, sorry for being a smarty-pants.You seem like an ambitious guy, and I respect that. Regarding your desire to go to a top-tier college, the necessity to move up math levels really depends on what you want to do in college. If you are planning on doing humanities or art/music/theatre, then is it really necessary that you have to be in higher level math courses to pursue these topics? If you want to do engineering and/or STEM, then that’s a different story. Many top engineering/STEM universities want to see that you are pretty competent in the field of mathematics. They would want to see that you have taken some form of Calculus by senior year. In this case, I think it would be pretty helpful for you to move up math levels. If you take Algebra I in 9th grade and you somehow “skip” Geometry, you would end up in Algebra II in 10th grade, allowing you to take Pre-Calc in 11th grade and Calculus in 12th. Luckily, there are two easy ways in which you can “skip” Geometry:Take summer coursesDoes your local community college offer some mathematics courses? Does your high school have a summer program for moving up math levels? If so, seize those opportunities. Sign up for the class. Work hard, get a good grade in the class, and hopefully, your high school will be able to count the course as credit. If not, some high schools offer an “aptitude test” for certain courses, where if you score above a threshold on the exam, you will be placed into that class. For example, my school has an aptitude test for AP Computer Science. If you score above an 80 (I believe) on it, you are automatically placed into AP Computer Science.Self StudyTake advantage of the many online resources there are for studying math. MOOCS, EdX, Coursera, you name it. It looks like Khan Academy has an excellent resource for “high-school geometry.” Study well in these courses, take the aptitude test, pass the test, and get placed into the course. There, simple. Also, it’s not like you have to spend your whole summer in a classroom or online. A lot of classes only meet several days a week for a few hours, so you will have time to do many other things in the summer, like getting a job, pursuing an extracurricular activity, or doing a summer program.

Are my 10th grade classes doable: AP Calc AB, AP Eng Lit, AP Bio, AP Physics 1, AP Psych, AP WH, normal Spanish? I am smart, not a genius. Be honest.

Dont take AP physics 1.Here are my reasons why:Most people who take physics 1 get less than a 4. The curve isn't that high in physics 1 and it is actually very hard to get a 5.If you are in stem, colleges don't even care about physics 1 because it's not calculus based. You're better off not taking physics 1 and wait next year to take AP physics C mechanics. When I took AP physics 1 in sophomore year, I got a 3. You know why? Because it was mostly conceptual questions. There were more graphs and there's hardly any calculations. Also you have more than 1 type of choices of questions that are correct so it can get very confusing. When I took AP physics mechanics C and E/M my junior year, I got 5’s on both of them because they were all calculations.Dont take AP Lit as a sophomore unless you already took AP Lang as a freshmenMost people who take Lit are seniors who already took AP Lang and they are already used to the format of the testsMost people who take Lit read a lot of poetry already and know the different types of essays to write because they took Lang already. Some of them are going to be an English major so chances are they are good are reading comprehension already and do well on the SAT’s reading comprehension. All these factors can make the curve to get a 5 lower so unless you already took AP Lang, you shouldn't take AP Lit.Everything else is fine. I would advise to not take AP Calc AB and just take AP Calc BC as a sophomore because AB just gets rid of 1 semester of calculus while BC gets rid of 2.
