If I Got My Septum Pierced At 6 Gauge Could I Wear 8g Double Flare Plugs Without Them Getting

Why am I having problems stretching my ears from 8 gauge to 6 gauge?

It's probably for 2 reasons. First off, there's a larger size jump between 8g and 6g. Up until 8g, there is only a difference of 0.6mm or less in between each size. After 8g, the differences get larger, and there is a 1 mm size difference between 8g and 6g. I know that probably seems like it's such a small amount to make any sort of difference, but at small sizes, it's quite a big difference. The other reason is that it's likely too soon. I know on the internet the one month in between sizes is repeated over & over again, but for many people it's just too soon & most reputable piercers recommend more time than that. So it's likely simply a matter of too much too soon. On a side note, Vaseline isn't really recommended to use on ears. The problem with Vaseline is that it doesn't really absorb into the skin, so it can clog pores, doesn't allow the skin to breathe, & can harbor bacterial. Vitamin E oil, Jojoba Oil, Emu Oil, & various other natural oils are a better bet. Good luck!

How long should you wait to replace plugs after getting your ears stretched?

There is nothing wrong with having the piercer start with a 6g piercing. The other answerer for some reason assumed that you stretched all the way from a "normal" hole (about 18g) to 6g. Mine were pierced at 10g without problems.
Anyway, you do want the holes to heal as quickly as possible, so you will need to clean the holes anyway, so as long as the new jewelry is stainless steel or glass or titanium (something that is non-porous and does not react with the body), and is the same size, there shouldn't be a problem. You should wait about 2 months before trying to put 4g jewelry in.

Does sex lube work well for gauging your ears.?

It won't relax your muscles, but its the best thing for lubing up the tapers before inserting them.

If it's safe enough for your genitals, it's safe enough for your ears!

I use KY jelly when stretching, but you should wait until three months before trying to stretch again.

Good luck!

Stretching my ears with tape. is it safe?

earlier today i decided to stretch my ears. some of my friends at school told me ( they have gauges too ) that if you don't want to go through the pain of strectching your ears, just wrap a little bit of tape around your current piercings. i have the common piercing ( 18g ) so i wrapped the earrings a little bit, put some vaseline on, soaked my ears in warm water and slowly insterted the now thicker piercings. they burned for abut ten minutes but that went away and i wanted to know if it is safe for me to leave these home-made gauges in my ears overnight.
