If I Need To Purchase A Health Insurance Policy Although I Have A Dominican Health Insurance That

Why are many Americans so jealous the success of immigrants?

Is it because the most educated people in this country(those with PhD in Math and Science) are immigrants?

Is it because the smartest students in this country are either immigrants or children of immigrants?

Is it because the silicon valley in California is dominated by immigrants?

Is it because successful companies such as Google and Yahoo were partly started by immigrants?

Is it because they do not like to see people coming from other countries and succeeding at the same time they are broke?

Is it because of their inherent prejudice and racism?

Is it because they are told that immigrants are suppose to be poor?

Why do many Americans come up moronic myths such as the one which says that immigrants don't have to pay taxes?

And for those uneducated people, who truly believe in this myth, show any evidence from a government agency which proves that this myth is true.

Why do people label Dominicans as Black but consider Mexicans mixed?

because they are black... (as in color)

well not really black..they're brown but most people in america call dark brown skinned people either black or African American

Just deal with it...lol. I'm mixed but I consider myself black and I am not the color black lol. And I have never been to Africa and never plan on going but I am being labeled as an african american.....
It doesn't make sense...but I don't care.

What are some of the big problems in the Dominican Republic today? What is life like in the DR? Why would someone leave?

The main biggest problems are public security, corruption at all levels of society, moral decay, unemployment and underemployment, and the lack of a social safety net. The average citizen feels like the rich keep getting richer, DR has one of fastest growing economy in Latin American but unless you have relatives abroad you don’t benefit, while the rest of the population is on its own. There are no government services: public schools rarely function and in fact there aren’t enough schools and teachers to staff them, good luck if a fire breaks out, someone breaks into your house and robs you police will ask for a bribe before investigating. Most of the problems are structural, while revenues aren’t enough to cover all expenses they would cover the most essential if it weren’t for corruption and the national debt. Politicians only look at the US as an example on how to administer the country and plan for the future, when they could look at many other countries as an example. The goals always seem so limited, president shows up to a new school opening but what about a hospital? Inter-province train network? New tech park? As I said, if the Dominican people and political leaders were able to look at other countries other the US the government may run more effectively. One thing I would look into for public security would be the European gendemarie model as a national military police instead of the ad-hoc military units and ineffective and corrupt national police. You also don’t need a poorly run university in all 32 provinces or 32 provinces in a country the size of Denmark who only has 5.So if you’re a young Dominican and have the opportunity to go abroad, why stay in a country where if you’re lucky you’ll be only underemployed, have no health insurance, pension, and pray that your parents leave you a house or some property?

I am looking to move permanently to the Dominican Republic, what should I know before I take my decision?

Hi IT comrade!Am sure you did some homework already, but I will throw my 2 cents. I made another post about things are needed to live in DR. etcOption 1, Mountains, healthy, rivers, own house.Move to Jarabacoa, find a house, with cistern, or roof water tank, Power inverter and couple of good batteries to deal with electricity those are the basics. Santiago is one of the main cities in the country which means too more people = more traffic and more thugs too. in Jarabacoa everything is more clean and quiet. don’t worry about airport cause is a small country everything is close if u compare it to USA. benefits is you have your own house and can customize it etc and the views could be amazing and rivers are great and strong. and food and vegetables are cheaper cause u are closer to producers.Option 2 , beach, warmer, easier, saferMove to punta cana, get a condo, villa, will have electricity, water, security guards and parking. is a little further from airport but the life style is the best you can get. and the basics are provided. just things are alittle more expensive because you are in one of the best towns in the Caribbean (world?) you will see famous actors and celebrities walking around every now and then.I know some real state contacts that live in DR if you need help. good luck !

Why do liberals think capitalism is a bad thing?

I have a small screen printing company. It's the way I and three employees make a living for our families. What's wrong with that?

Why do they want to bring me down with MORE taxes, health insurance, MORE government control, and MORE red tape? They don't really want me (us) to succeed, do they? Help me figure this out.

Not a republican and definitely not a democrat.

Where in the world is it best and cheapest to live once you are retired?

EGYPT.If you have the money you will live happily there. I am not recommending Cairo at all as it's the capital city and it's very busy and crowded.I have two places for you. You will keep moving between them according to the season and according to your tolerance to hot weather.WINTER: ASWAN.Have you ever heared of it? Check this out:This is the view from my hotel room lying on my bedAswan is a small governorate south of Egypt. Too hot in the Summer, LOVELY during winter. It's a combination of sand , water and greenery. Just like the picture. The most important thing which no picture can describe is the PEOPLE. I have never seen in my life such kindness and politeness as in Aswan. Here are some more pictures that I took myself:If you are willing to spend money living luxury life consider staying here :This is the one and only OLD CATARACT.Sofitel Legend Old Cataract AswanOr you might consider living among the locals, and trust me, you won't regret. You will be living in some of th best eco lodges man kind have known, and eating the freshest organic food. You will be doing and seeing a lot of this ;And thisAnd lots of templesAnd again more of the River Nile.Have you noticed how clear the sky is? It's always that clear. The sun is shining all year round. Bare in mind that these pictures are in December.Enjoy.

Do US immigration officers deny entry to pregnant women with a valid visa to avoid citizenship by birth to the future child?

Let's start by saying that, although I have traveled to and from the US several times, I'm not an US citizen and do not know personally any CBP or TSA officer. Therefore the following answer stems entirely from my guesswork. I honestly do not believe that there is any written law, rule or regulation stating that a foreign pregnant woman cannot enter the US territory under any circumstances, in order to prevent the birth of another "anchor baby" (that's the term some media employ to define children born in America from immigrant parents). Also, airlines are very reluctant to accept heavily pregnant women on board of their planes for obvious reasons regarding the comfort, health and safety of both the passenger and her unborn child (possible damages due to turbulence in flight, need to use the toilet often, possibility of going into labor in mid-flight, etc.), so that some of them require any evidently pregnant passenger to show a certificate from her ob-gyn stating her actual pregnancy week and her fitness to travel by air before letting them board one of their flights. All things considered, if an evidently pregnant woman shows up at any American border checkpoint (not necessarily just off an international flight), she could be eventually subject to extended questioning and extra scrutiny about her destination, the purpose of her travel, the intended length of her stay, her eventual relations or acquaintances in the US, etc., but I seriously doubt that she would be denied entry solely on the basis of her pregnancy.

Minimum age to rent a hotel room? With military ID?

An active duty military id card will be honored for booking a room when under orders, regardless of age. However, to be active duty military, you must be at least 17 years of age. A dependent's id card (parent in military) will not help in this regard. Hotels set their own policies for renting rooms, based on federal, state and local rules and their preferred business practices. Generally the age is 18, although they may set it higher if they wish.
