If I Want To Sew My Neice Some Pj

What are some good beginner sewing projects?

My mom sewed all the time when I was growing up. She made clothes for us, clothes for our dolls, window coverings, quilts for our beds and for taking with us on road trips, bags or all shapes and sizes, halloween costumes every year and so many more things. I loved all the clothes my mom sewed for me. (Well, most of them. I remember a pair of pants I got made fun of when I wore, which really upset me for quite a while since I had picked out the fabric and thought they were awesome.)It wasn’t long before I started sewing. I remember the first few projects my mom had me sew were - a small bag drawstring bag, pajama pants for my doll, a set of placemats, and later a gathered tiered skirt. These were all great beginner sewing projects and were usable items which made them even better.Other beginner sewing projects I would recommend are:A pillowcase - fun for a beginner to get to choose their own fabric.Placemats are good because they can be a gift and can be pieced with basic squares, made with a simple binding or with the flip method, or add a simple appliqué on top.A vest - great for male or female or anyone. Try a simple boxy pattern or one with simple fold under and stitch edgings. There are many options.A rag style quilt! This project is just a bunch of straight seams and snipping fabric. Plus you can’t mess it up. Also ideal for using up flannel scraps so you don’t have to invest a lot in fabric.

What is the difference between nephew and niece?

Nieces are female and nephews are male. There are a few neologisms and family words for a mixed-gender group of such relatives (in my family it’s “niblings”), but no widespread English word that does not encode a gender. You may call a relative a niece or nephew of yours if the relationship is any of these:Your own blood brother or step-brother or half-brother’s childrenYour own blood sister or step-sister or half-sister’s childrenThe children of any people who have those relationships to your spouseThe children of any people who have that relationship to the spouse of any of your siblings (wide category as listed above)The same sorts of relationships, but to your siblings’ grandchildren or great-grandchildren, get a ‘grand’ for the first step out (your brother’s children are your nieces/nephews; THEIR children are your grand-nieces and grand-nephews), and a “great-” appended on for each following generation. Similarly, they would call you their (great-grand, etc) aunt or uncle.Any relationship farther out than that is usually called a “cousin” in English, though for genealogical purposes more technical jargon terms do exist.

How did you feel after birth of your first nephew or niece?

I'm the 15 year old aunt of a 3 year old boy. His parents are not together and his father, my brother, lives with us. We usually get to see him every other weekend, but that plan goes out the window a lot. When we do get to have him. He is like a light in my life. His father is somewhat… irresponsible. He doesn't show much motivation or take initiative to spend time with his son, but he is being to show promise. Now that we have some background, I can answer your question.I wasn't there for his birth, my family and I left before. His mother was in labor for a while and ended up getting a C-Section. At the time, both of them were living with us, and were married. My Nephew was the sweetest thing. In the beginning, I didn't do much, mostly played with him, but as his parent's relationship got rockier, i spent a lot of time with him. Then, they separated and she took my nephew, not that I disagreed with her about it. (My brother had a lot of growing up to do). When we see him, I usually end up caring for him. This was especially common when he was much smaller. A part of me hates being like a parent when I could be spoiling him, but I love him too much to care. I will sit on the potty with him for hours watching Super Why or PJ Masks, or change his diaper when he neglects to tell me he needs to go. I will watch stupid shows and put up with his tantrums. I will do all the boring and gross stuff. But i will also sing him to sleep with a song. I will take him outside to play in the snow. I will play games with him. I will make him laugh and smile. I will jump on the trampoline with him. And I will make the time he spends with us the best time of his life. Most people would look at my life with my nephew and see the big change he brought us, but I can't see it. All I can see is how more exciting he makes it. It's like he carved a piece of my heart out and snuggled his life into it. I don't know what I would do without him. He brings a joy into my life that no mother or father or siblings or family or friends or animals can do. A nephew or niece is a whole different kind of love. A special kind. Sometimes, while he's playing with his toys, with me sitting next to him on the floor, I look at him and my chest hurts. It physically hurts because of how much I love him. I feel this way every time I see him.

Is sewing hard? Like a sewing machine?

I started sewing at the age of 10! I find it fun and rewarding. I like to make my own clothes. People always comment on how they love my creations! I takes a lot of patience, with yourself, to become good at it. But I have sewn so long that my biggest reward was making my daughters prom and wedding dresses. Start out with See & Sew patterns. Simplicity patterns are easiest. Stay away from Vogue--they are too hard for beginners. But get started and you're hooked! Good luck.

American Girl or BRATZ doll?

Bratz are like little whores ...American Girl donated over a million dollars to the North American Man and Boy Love Association (a radical homosexual/pedophilia organization whose motto is "sex before 8 or it is too late")
As do a lot of companies such as Carrier air conditioners and Wal-Mart ..they say they donate because they do not want to discriminate against gays ...They are crazy if any of them think they will get a dime of my money for anything.

American Girl may seem wholesome but the company is not by a long shot ..

How much money should I give a niece as a wedding gift who is having a destination wedding that will cost a lot to attend to?

Thanks for speaking up about the expense of destination weddings. I’m on a fixed income and seem to be surrounded by affluent young friends and relatives with whom destination weddings are all the rage. I know that their destination weddings are a real financial burden on some of their friends and relatives, and yet nobody speaks up and everyone seems to pay up as if these extravagant choices are just one more expected cost of friendship. Perhaps some negative comments on Quora will give some pause for thought. But to answer your question, I recommend that you take the amount you would ordinarily spend on a really nice gift for a kid you really love, then add to it the cost of lodging and travel you will spend to go to the wedding. Now deduct from that sum the amount you ordinarily spend on a weekend getaway. The result is the amount you could be expected to spend on the wedding by any reasonable standard. If this amount is greater than you would normally spend on a gift, send a small token gift. If the total is less than your usual gift, spend the remainder on a modest present. If this makes you feel guilty, remind yourself that some forms of guilt are entirely irrational.

Talking to my aunt about my period?

My parents are away on business, so I am staying with my favorite aunt. She is my mom's younger sister and she is 36. I didn't feel well earlier, so I layed down. I fell asleep, and I guess I got my period when I was sleeping, because I woke up and it leaked throught my pj pants. Thankfully, none got on the sheets.

I don't have anything with me because I wasn't expecting it until next week. I am also cramping horribly and my lower back hurts. Obviously, I need to ask my aunt for help, but I don't know how to. I need some pads and Midol and for her to help me get the blood out of my pants (they're my favorite), but I am really embarrassed. I haven't had my period for that long, and as close as we are, we have never talked about it. I really don't want my little cousins to hear. I'm 14. Thileah is only 12, and she hasn't started her period yet. She's the oldest. I have 2 younger boy cousins besides her. I am so embarrassed. I don't want her to find out and ask me a bunch of questions. I am really self-conscious about it..

How could I approach my aunt? I looked in her bathroom, but all I found were tampons, and I can't use them because they hurt. I would just use toilet paper, but it's starting to get heavy, and I need pads.
