Althoug there is a myth that the human brain have 100 billions of neurons, that’s not true. A brazilian researcher called Suzana Herculano-Houzel was the first person to ‘count neurons’ in some vertebrates’ brains. She found out that the human brain have 86 billions of neurons, not the well-known ‘100 billions neurons.I took this photo from a book called ‘100 billions of neurons?’The human brain have 170 billions of cells:86 billions of neurons and 84 billions of glial cells.The cerebral cortex has 16 billions of neurons and 61 billions of glia. Cerebellum has 69 billions of neurons and ‘only’ 16 billions of glial cells.The other parts of the brain have, together, 7 billions of glial cells and 700 millions of neurons.
Is it rude to talk on the cell phone while checking out at a supermarket?
I think it is definitely rude and inconsiderate. I worked at Wal-Mart as a cashier for a year and when people would come through my line talking on their cell phone the process took twice as long. I felt uncomfortable interrupting their conversation to ask necessary questions and since they were engrossed in the call they were often slow about getting their purchases on the counter, paying, asking for cigarettes, and picking up their bags. Not only is it rude to the cashier (whose attention is supposed to be focused 100% on the customer so give them the same courtesy) but it is also inconsiderate to the other people in line who have better things to do than stand around waiting for you to get you head out of your rear and hang up the phone so the cashier can get on with her job.

Do you think customers who talk on their cell phones at the checkout counter are kind of rude?
Not if it's a SELF-checkout counter! The use of cell phones is so widespread, it is almost ridiculous to make such blanket statements. There ARE ways to be polite SILENTLY to someone on the phone if one is a cashier. One can SMILE and give a happy little wave of "thanks" to someone who is on the phone. While you cannot control the actions of others (unless such actions are ILLEGAL!), you CAN control you OWN actions, and RE-actions. Don't take these things so seriously!!! How often to you see another driver on their cell phone, and YOU become all indignant about their rude driving. Yet, when YOUR cell phone rings while YOU are driving... and be honest now... you pick it up and answer it and talk on your cell phone. But you find nothing rude about that! Yes, talking loudly about one's personal business while in public is rude, it should also be considered embarrassing! It would be equivalent to waving one's "unmentionable" laundry in front of people's faces! Would one REALLY like to see that? Then why is it alright to HEAR that? Unfortunately, rudeness will be with us forever. But it might be something to consider to "kill them with kindness" instead of taking continual offense at these rude people. Have a polite day.
